Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a wig base, to which hairs are to be planted to complete a wig. The wig base is provided with a strip which gives an effect of camouflage on its periphery.

DESCRIPTION OF THE RELATED ART

Generally, a wig is produced in a size matching the condition of a user's own hair left on his/her head. When putting a wig on the head, the boundary between the user's head and the periphery of the wig may be conspicuous, and therefore in order to conceal it, they take advantage of an effect of camouflage.

For example, in a patent document 1 (Japanese Laid-open utility model publication No. 114018/1987), there is disclosed a wig base made of net-material, wherein the front periphery of the wig base is made saw-toothed. With this constitution, the camouflage effect is expectable in the boundary line between the wig base and the head. But, one disadvantage is that the net-material made saw-toothed would be easily tangled.

In a patent document 2 (Japanese Laid-open utility model publication No. 98329/1988), there is disclosed that a net-material made from nylon monofilament is cut out into an elongated strip having 10-30 mm width, and this strip is folded double and welded to the whole periphery edge of a wig base.

Also with this construction, the camouflage effect is expectable in the boundary line between the wig base and the head, but the following problem is left. That is, the double folded strip is fixed to the periphery edge of the wig base by welding, and therefore, only the periphery edge becomes rigid and thicker, such that the periphery edge would be easily turned up.

In a case that a wig base is made of net-material, when the wig is cut into a predetermined size and shape, filaments constituting the net would be easily tangled. If a wig with such the condition is put on, the appearance of the wig at its periphery would become significantly worse. In order to prevent this, a treatment for preventing the tangle at the periphery of the wig would be needed.

For this reason, in a patent document 3 (Japanese Laid-open patent publication No. 144306/2008), there is disclosed that a periphery net is formed covering the periphery edge of a wig base. However, in the patent document 3, only the naming of “periphery net” is described, and no mention for further details is given.

In a case that a wig base is made of net-material, regarding the treatment of the periphery of the wig base, it is important to give a camouflage effect to the boundary line between a user's head and the wig periphery, and to prevent the tangle of the wig base at its periphery region.

As described above, until now, any constitution of a wig base which well satisfies both of these requirements does not exist.

SUMMERY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problem in this field, and therefore an object of the present invention to provide a wig base made of net-material having a constitution, with which the camouflage effect can be given to the boundary line between a user's head and the wig periphery, and the tangle of the wig base at its periphery region can be prevented.

In order to achieve the objects of the present invention, there is provided a wig base to which hairs are to be planted to complete a wig, wherein at least a part of periphery of the wig base is made of net-material, and to which a strip of net-material is attached. The strip has a quadruple constitution, wherein the net-material of the strip is folded double along a folding line, and side edges of the folded net-material is further folded inwardly. Edge of the periphery of the wig base is covered by the folded strap. There is kept a first space between the folding line and the edge of the periphery of the wig base.

In the present invention, the term “net-material” means something having a mesh structure. Regarding the quality of the material and the roughness of the mesh, suitable ones can be employed.

With the wig base of the present invention constituted as above, thanks to the first space (X), the periphery edge of the wig base could be hardly recognized from the outside, and therefore, the camouflage effect in a boundary line against the user's head becomes very high. Besides, since the periphery edge of the wig base would not touch the user's head directly, the tangle of the wig base can be effectively prevented.

In the present invention, it is preferable to keep a second space (Y), larger than the first space (X), between the folding line and the side edges of the folded strap. Thanks to this constitution, the camouflage effect at the periphery region can be further enhanced.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

These and other objects and features of the present invention will become apparent from the following description taken in conjunction with the preferred embodiments thereof with reference to the accompanying drawings.

FIG. 1 is a schematic explanatory view showing a wig base 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2(a) is a cross-sectional view along the line 2a-2a in FIG. 1.

FIG. 2 (b) is an explanatory view showing how the strip 20 is folded.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

An embodiment of the present invention is described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic explanatory view showing a wig base 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention. Artificial or natural hairs 15 are planted to this wig base 10 to complete a wig, which is to be put on a user's head.

In FIG. 1, only the part of the hairs 15 are shown, but actually the hairs 15 are planted to whole of the wig base 10. Further, the hairs 15 can be planted also to the strip 20 mentioned below.

In the present invention, the wig base 10 is made of net-material, and a strip 20 is attached to the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10, intended for giving camouflage effect and for preventing the tangle of the wig base 10. The strip 20 is also made of net-material. In FIG. 1, only a part of the strip 20 is shown by the solid line. But, the strip 20 can be attached to the entire periphery edge of the wig base 10 as shown by the dashed line, or otherwise, the strip 20 can be attached to only a particular region in the periphery edge.

FIG. 2(a) is a cross-sectional view along the line 2a-2a in FIG. 1, which shows in enlarged scale the details of the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10 and the strip 20. FIG. 2 (b) shows partially the strip 20, explaining how the strip 20 is folded.

Firstly, an elongated material having a predetermined length is cut out, and it is folded double along a center folding line 21. Then, both of the side edges 23a, 23b are further folded inwardly along the lines “a”, “b” in FIG. 2(b). Then, the folded strip 20 is attached to the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10, the periphery edge 10a being sandwiched in the folded strip 20, as shown in FIG. 2(a).

For fixing the strip 20 to the periphery edge 10a, preferably, sewing at the position of the dashed line “C” in FIG. 2(a) is conducted.

As shown in FIG. 2(a), there is kept a first space “X” between the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10 and the folding line 21 of the strip 20. Thanks to the first space “X”, the line of the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10 could be hardly recognized from the outside, as compared with a case of no such the space “X”. As a result, the camouflage effect in a boundary line against the user's head becomes very high.

Besides, since the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10 would not touch the head directly, the tangle of the wig base 10 can be effectively prevented.

Further, the strip 20 is folded quadruple as shown in FIG. 2(a), and thus the strip 20 is tough and has high durability. Besides, on both of the inside and the outside of the wig base 10, the same number of two sheets of the net-material are stacked. Thus, the periphery of the wig base 10 would not deform, and can be hardly turned up.

Particularly when the strip 20 is fixed to the periphery edge 10a of the wig base 10 by sewing, there can be avoided a disadvantage, which was associated in the prior art explained before (patent document 2), wherein the strip 20 would be fixed by welding and thus only a welded region would become rigid and can be easily turned up.

In the present invention, it is preferable to keep a second space “Y”, which is larger than the first space “X”, between the folding line 21 of the strip 20 and the side edges 23a, 23b, as shown in FIG. 2(a). With such the constitution, in FIG. 2(a), the sectional constitution of the wig base 10 is tapered gradually from the quadruple folded area to the folding line 21, by which the camouflage effect at the periphery region can be further enhanced.

Note that, regarding the first space “X” and the second space “Y”, the terms “first” and “second” are used only for distinguishing the both.

Other Embodiments

In the embodiments shown and described with reference to the drawings, the wig base 10 is a type of covering the whole head of user's. But, in the present invention, the size of a wig base is not limited to a particular one, and the wig base can be one for a partial wig.

The whole region of the wig base is not required to be made of net-material. The present invention can be applied where only a part of the periphery of the wig base is made of net-material. Further, to such the part of the periphery made of net-material, the strip 20 described above can be attached covering there partially.

Although the present invention has been fully described in connection with the preferred embodiment thereof with reference to the accompanying drawings, it is to be noted that various changes and modifications are apparent to those skilled in the art. Such changes and modifications are to be understood as included within the scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims unless they depart therefrom.
