Description
(A) TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is related to a technical improvement for golf related equipment, in particular, to an improved golf club head cover.

(B) DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

Golf club head covers are commonly used for protecting the golf club head of such as the one for a driver or an iron club in order to prevent unnecessary impacts or scratches that may cause damages on the club head by covering the head portion thereof. Nevertheless, the golf club head covers are required to not only provide adequate protection to the club head but also to be practical and useful on the field. U.S. Patent Publication No. US2005/0016648A1 and U.S. Patent Publication No. US2006/0201596A1 both disclose designs for a golf club head cover. Both of the structures of the two head covers utilize a flip-to-open design allowing the club head to be placed therein, and a magnetic type elastic strip is only being provided at the edge of the flip-opened side of the head cover such that once the club head is inserted therein, the elastic strip is able to automatically close up the flip-opened side with its recovery elasticity in order to cover the club head therein. However, such use of magnetic type elastic strip on the head cover is of a rather limited restraining force, which tends to cause slippage of the head cover off the club head without providing sufficient and effective effects that the head cover is designed and used for. There is a need for an improved golf club head cover with enhanced practical and useful merits.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforementioned drawback associated with known golf club head cover, a primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved golf club head cover capable of overcoming the insufficient usefulness of the known golf club head cover and providing greater practical usages and merits with a novel structural design.

Accordingly, based on the technical problem encountered, the present invention provides a technical solution of a novel and improved golf club head cover comprising a main body in a tubular shape having a receiving portion with a wider width and an opening portion with a narrower width and characterized in that a front side of the main body of the head cover comprises a left flipping piece and a right flipping piece; an extendable cloth made of a thin fabric is provided at a front edge portion between the two flipping pieces; a soft metal plate is provided at an internal of the left flipping piece and an a restraining piece with magnets is provided at an internal of the right flipping piece and extends outward therefrom. By covering a golf club head with the improved golf club head cover of the present invention having such unique structure, the golf club head can be advantageously protected from unnecessary impacts or scratches that may cause damages to the club head.

Furthermore, an internal of the left flipping piece can be provided with magnets and an internal of the restraining piece of the right flipping piece can be provided with a soft metal plate.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an outer appearance of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is an illustration showing structural component and arrangement of the present invention; and

FIG. 3 is an illustration showing a state of use of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, in which an embodiment of an improved golf club head cover is shown. The improved golf club head cover comprises a main body 10 that is made of a soft and anti-shock material with a great thickness and is generally of a tubular shape with an outer appearance having a front end with a wider width and a rear end with a narrower width. The wider front end comprises a receiving portion 11 and the narrower rear end of the tubular shape comprises an opening portion 12. The front side of the main body 10 of the head cover comprises a left flipping piece 20 and a right flipping piece 30 formed between the receiving portion 11 and the opening portion 12. A restraining piece 50 is further formed on the right flipping piece 30 and extends outward therefrom. The left flipping piece 20, right flipping piece 30 and the restraining piece 50 are all made of a soft and anti-shock material with a great thickness. An extendable cloth 40 made of a thin fabric is provided at a front edge portion of the receiving portion 11 connected to both the left flipping piece 20 and the right flipping piece 30 such that as the left flipping piece 20 and the right flipping piece 30 are being flipped open, the extendable cloth 40 is able to extend correspondingly to cover an upper part of the receiving portion and, similarly, as the left flipping piece 20 and the right flipping piece 30 are being closed, the extendable cloth 40 can be compressed correspondingly to a slim-strip retracted form. Furthermore, a soft metal plate 21 is provided at an internal of the left flipping piece 20 and adjacent to the opening portion 12 thereof. A plurality of magnets 51 are provided at an internal of the restraining piece 50 of the right flipping piece 30 and arranged correspondingly to the soft metal plate 21 of the left flipping piece 20.

Please refer now to FIG. 3. The improved golf club head cover of the present invention is of a unique structure designed to facilitate the practical usage thereof with great ease. During its use, an user can simply flip open the restraining piece 50 to insert the club head of a golf club 60 into the opening portion 12 along the edges of the left flipping piece 20 and the right flipping piece 30 such that the left flipping piece 20 and the right flipping piece 30 are being flipped open to allow the club head of the golf club to be received in the internal of the receiving portion 11. Following which, the left flipping piece 20 and the right flipping piece 30 are brought close to each other and the restraining piece 50 can then be attached onto the left flipping piece 20 again via the securement achieved by the magnetism formed between the soft metal plate 21 and the magnets 51 such that the opening portion 12 can be closed tightly on the golf club 60. The main body 10 of the club head cover is thus firmly attached onto the club head of the golf club without slippages and such that the protection provided to the club head of the golf club can be advantageously improved.
