Personal Status Indicating Bracelet

Abstract

A personal status indicating bracelet includes a panel having a front side and a back side. A tether is attached to the panel and forms a closed loop with the panel. The front side of the panel has a plurality of indicia markings thereon. A covering is mounted on the panel and is movable on the panel. The covering has an aperture extending therethrough. The aperture is aligned with one of the indicia markings such that only a selected one of the indicia markings is viewable through the aperture in the covering.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to bracelet assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new bracelet assembly for indicating a status of a wearer of the bracelet assembly to others viewing the bracelet assembly.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a panel having a front side and a back side. A tether is attached to the panel and forms a closed loop with the panel. The front side of the panel has a plurality of indicia markings thereon. A covering is mounted on the panel and is movable on the panel. The covering has an aperture extending therethrough. The aperture is alignable with one of the indicia markings such that only a selected one of the indicia markings is viewable through the aperture in the covering.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 3 thereof, a new bracelet assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 3, the personal status indicating bracelet 10 generally comprises a panel 12 that has a front side 14, a back side 16 and a perimeter edge 18. The perimeter 18 includes a first edge 20, a second edge 22, a third edge 24 and a fourth edge 26, wherein the first 20 and second 22 edges are positioned opposite of each other. The panel 12 may be elongated along a line extending between the first 20 and second 22 edges. The panel 12 may have a generally rectangular shape as shown in the Figures or may be formed of alternate shapes. Further, the panel 12 may have an arcuate back for contouring to a person's wrist. The panel 12 is likely to be comprised of a generally rigid material such as plastic, graphite, metal, glass, wood, ceramic or the like. Partially flexible elastomers may also be utilized.

A tether 28 is attached to the panel 12 and forms a closed loop with the panel 12. The tether 28 may have a pair of ends attached to the first 20 and second 22 edges. The tether 28 is configured for being positioned around a person's wrist. The tether 28 may have a break therein to define a first section and a second section. A coupler 30 releasably couples together the first and second sections. The tether 28 may be comprised of a resiliently stretchable material and thereby not require a break and a coupler 30, however it may alternatively be comprised of leather, metal links or other conventional bands used with bracelets. The coupler 30 may comprise a clasp such as, for example, a clasp known as a “lobster claw” clasp. The panel 12 may include openings 32 to facilitate engagement with the tether.

The front side 14 of the panel 12 has a plurality of indicia markings 50 thereon. The markings 50 may be aligned with each other along a line extending between the first 20 and second 22 edges. The indicia markings 50 may include any combination of indicia markings indicating different personal statuses or emotions. For example, the indicia markings 50 may include a letter S, a letter T, a letter C and a question mark relating to a person's relationship status. Thus, the letter S would indicate “single,” the letter T would indicate “taken” or in a relationship, the letter C would indicate “crush” or interested in a person, and the question mark would indicate a secret and the wearer does not want others to know their relationship status.

A covering 34 is mounted on the panel 12 and is movable on the panel 34. The covering 34 has an aperture 36 extending therethrough. The aperture 36 is alignable with one of the indicia markings 50 such, at one time, that only a selected one of the indicia markings 50 is viewable through the aperture 36 in the covering 34. The covering 34 may be mounted on the panel 12 in a conventional manner. In one embodiment, the covering 34 may include a pair of flanges 38 positioned in elongated slots 40 extending in the third 24 and fourth 26 edges such that the flanges 38 may slide along the slots 40.

In use, a user of the assembly 10 places the assembly 10 on their wrist to be worn in a conventional manner. The user may select their personal status by moving the covering 34 such that the self determined indicia marking 50 is displayed through the aperture 36. The covering 34 may be frictionally engaged with the panel 12, for example by having the flanges 38 frictionally engage an interior surface of the slots 40 or with a combination of indents and detents, to prevent its unwanted movement with respect to the panel 12.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A bracelet assembly configured for indicating a relationship status of a person, said assembly comprising:

a panel having a front side and a back side;

a tether being attached to said panel and forming a closed loop with said panel;

said front side of said panel having a plurality of indicia markings thereon; and

a covering being mounted on said panel and being movable on said panel, said covering having an aperture extending therethrough, said aperture being alignable with one of said indicia markings such that only a selected one of said indicia markings is viewable through said aperture in said covering.

2. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising:

said tether having a break therein to define a first section and a second section; and

a coupler releasably coupling together said first and second sections.

3. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising said indicia markings being aligned with each other along a line extending between first and second edges of a perimeter edge of said panel.

4. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising said indicia markings including a letter S, a letter T, a letter C, and a question mark.

5. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising said covering comprising a pair of flanges positioned in elongated slots extending in third and fourth edges of said perimeter edge such that said flanges are slidable along said slots.

6. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising said back side of said panel being arcuate wherein said panel is configured for contouring to a person's wrist.

7. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising said panel being comprised of a rigid material.

8. The assembly of claim 1, further comprising said tether being comprised of a resiliently stretchable material.

9. A bracelet assembly configured for indicating a relationship status of a person, said assembly comprising:

a panel having a front side, a back side and a perimeter edge, said perimeter including a first edge, a second edge, a third edge and a fourth edge, said first and second edges being positioned opposite of each other;

a tether being attached to said panel and forming a closed loop with said panel, said tether configured for being positioned around a person's wrist, said tether having a break therein to define a first section and a second section, a coupler releasably coupling together said first and second sections;

said front side of said panel having a plurality of indicia markings thereon, said markings being aligned with each other along a line extending between said first and second edges, said indicia markings including a letter S, a letter T, a letter C and a question mark; and

a covering being mounted on said panel and being movable on said panel, said covering having an aperture extending therethrough, said aperture being alignable with one of said indicia markings such that only a selected one of said indicia markings is viewable through said covering, said covering comprising a pair of flanges positioned in elongated slots extending in said third and fourth edges such that said flanges are slidable along said slots.
