Expandable Luggage

An expandable luggage includes a luggage body, a luggage cover, a secondary cover and an extension fabric connected between the secondary cover and the luggage cover through second zippers. The secondary cover has an outer flange. The luggage cover has an inner flange. The inner flange engages with the outer flange. Thus, when the secondary cover is extended to expand the inner space of the luggage body, the extension fabric can be protected to prevent the extension fabric from being damaged so that the articles in the luggage won't be stolen.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an expandable luggage, and more particularly, to an expandable luggage which can expand or reduce its size and is durable to prevent the luggage from being damaged.

2. Description of the Prior Art

As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a conventional luggage can change the size of the luggage body. The luggage comprises a luggage body 1, a luggage cover 2 having a first zipper 3 and an extension fabric 5 between the first zipper 3 and the luggage cover 2. Both sides of the extension fabric 5 are provided with second zippers 4, respectively. As shown in FIG. 1, when the user wants a small-sized luggage, the second zippers 4 are zipped to hide the extension fabric 5 so as to shorten the distance of the luggage body 1 and the luggage cover 2. As shown in FIG. 2, when the user wants to expand the size of the luggage, the second zippers 4 are unzipped to expose the extension fabric 5 so as to lengthen the distance of the luggage body 1 and the luggage cover 2. The foregoing structure has the following shortcomings.

1. The extension fabric 5 is made of a soft material and its strength is not good so the extension fabric 5 may uneven.

2. The thief can cut the extension fabric 5 to steal the articles in the luggage easily.

3. Because the extension fabric 5 is soft, the luggage body 1 may be deformed.

This causes the luggage wheels to run unstably.

4. As shown in FIG. 3, when the luggage is dragged with two wheels and the luggage cover 2 is filled with some articles to have a certain weight, the luggage cover 2 may slide downward to cause deformation of the luggage.

Accordingly, the present invention intends to provide an expandable luggage for improving the shortcomings mentioned above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary object of the present invention is to provide an expandable luggage. The expandable luggage comprises a luggage body, a luggage cover, a secondary cover, and an extension fabric between the secondary cover and the luggage cover. Two sides of the extension fabric are provided with second zippers to connect with the luggage cover and the secondary cover. The luggage cover has an inner flange. The secondary cover has an outer flange. The inner flange engages with the outer flange. When the user wants to reduce the size of the luggage, a portion of the secondary cover is retracted in the luggage cover. When the user wants to expand the size of the luggage, the secondary cover can be extended outward and the extension fabric is still protected by the luggage cover to prevent the extension fabric from being damaged and to prevent the articles in the luggage from being stolen. The inner flange engages with the outer flange so that the secondary cover and the luggage cover are connected together to form a durable luggage.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Embodiments of the present invention will now be described, by way of example only, with reference to the accompanying drawings.

As shown in FIG. 4, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, the present invention comprises a luggage body 10 having a first zipper 11 and a luggage cover 12. One side of the luggage cover 12 is provided with a secondary cover 14. An extension fabric 20 is provided between the secondary cover 14 and the luggage cover 12. Two sides of the extension fabric 20 are provided with second zippers 21 to connect with the luggage cover 12 and the secondary cover 14. The secondary cover 14 has an outer flange 15 around a periphery thereof. The luggage cover 12 has an inner flange 13 around a periphery thereof. The outer flange 15 of the secondary cover 14 is mounted in the luggage cover 12 so that the inner flange 13 of the luggage cover 12 engages with the outer flange 15 of the secondary cover 14.

According to the aforesaid structure, the functions and effects of the present invention are descried in detail hereinafter. As shown in FIG. 5, when the user wants to expand the space between the luggage body 10 and the secondary cover 14, the second zippers 21 are unzipped to extend (unfold) the extension fabric 20 and the secondary cover 14 is extended outward from the luggage cover 12, such that the size of the luggage is increased. When the user wants to reduce the inner space of the luggage body 10, the secondary zippers 21 are zipped to shorten (fold) the extension fabric 20, such that a portion of the secondary cover 14 is received in the luggage cover 12 to reduce its size. Accordingly, the present invention has the following effects and advantages.

1. As shown in FIG. 5, when the size of the luggage is expanded and the extension fabric 20 is extended, the extension fabric 20 is still covered by the luggage cover 12 so that the extension fabric 20 won't be damaged and the articles in the luggage won't be stolen.

2. As shown in FIG. 5, when the size of the luggage is expanded and the secondary cover 14 is extended outward, the outer flange 15 is stopped by the inner flange 13 of the luggage cover 12 to keep the connection state. Thus, the luggage is durable and won't have the uneven problem. Besides, the luggage cover 12 and the secondary cover 14 are connected stably. The luggage body 10 won't be deformed and the luggage wheels can run smoothly and stably.

3. As shown in FIG. 6, when the size of the luggage is reduced, the secondary cover 14 is retracted in the luggage cover 12 to form a dual structure at their connecting position so as to enhance the strength of the luggage.

Although particular embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
