The present invention is related to a multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support, comprising a head supporting pad, a neck supporting pad attached to one side of the head supporting pad, a waist supporting pad movably attached to the head supporting pad and a hip supporting pad movable attached to another lateral side of the waist supporting pad away from the head supporting pad; wherein the neck supporting pad comprises an arched portion adjacent to a lateral side of the waist supporting pad. The user can alter the curvature between any one of the pads such that the bed apparatus conforms to human ergonomics of an ergonomic bed or chair for the user body. The arched portion further provides adequate support to the arms of the user to prevent arm muscle pains. Therefore, the present invention is applicable to various fields and uses with simplified operations and great comforts.

Description
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is related to a multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support provided to facilitate the operation and usage of the bed apparatus, o offer great conform and convince to users and to advantageously prevent arm muscle pain.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

As the world population increases rapidly and continuously, the urban civilization advances in a rapid rate with high rise costs in great aspects. Urban population is bound by the limited space available for city developments. Furniture including such as beds, desks, chairs and shelves essential to daily lives too tends to occupy significant spaces that are available in either a city apartment or house. Therefore, there is a need to provide furniture with space-saving designs to improve the utilization of the furniture and their sizes in order to reduce their occupying spaces.

It is known that there are various types of foldable beds introduced to the market, which mostly utilize the design of a foldable mechanism to unfold the bed when needed for bedding and to fold up the bed to a reduced size for storages in such as a cabinet. Nevertheless, due to their conventional design of foldable mechanism, the overall sizes of such known foldable beds after folding are generally too large for storage and still tend to occupy significant spaces. In other words, the folding sizes of conventional foldable beds fail to show a significant reduce in overall size that has a positive impact to the storage. In addition, such conventional foldable beds are of no diverse designs with various functions applicable to different applications for either their extended or folded state of the beds.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support, comprising a waist supporting pad, a head supporting pad moveably attached to a lateral side of the waist supporting pad, a hip supporting pad movable attached to another lateral side of the waist supporting pad away from the head supporting pad and a neck supporting pad attached to one side of the head supporting pad and comprising an arched portion adjacent to a lateral side of the waist supporting pad. To use the bed apparatus of the present invention, one may alter the curvature profile between any one of the head supporting pad, the waist supporting pad, the neck supporting pad, the hip supporting pad and the leg supporting pad such that the shape thereof is configured in accordance with the human ergonomics to be any one of the following forms of an ergonomic bed and an ergonomic chair conforming to a body shape of a user. In addition, as a user lies down on the bed apparatus of the present invention in a recovery position such as lying on either side, the head supporting pad is able to provide support to the head portion of the user body while the arched portion provides a recess for the user arms to rest thereon in natural position. Based on the aforementioned features of the present invention, the problems of being bulky in size occupying large spaces and of limited applicable functions in other fields associated with the known foldable beds can be effectively solved and such that the merits of being diversely adaptive to other applications with simplified operational requirements and convenience as well as of great conform to prevent arm muscle pains can be advantageously achieved by the bed apparatus of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 14A showing a first bed form of a preferred embodiment of the present invention, a second bed form of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a first chair form of the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a second chair form of the present invention, an exploded view of the present invention, a perspective view of the present invention utilizing the button locking means for attachment of pads, an illustration showing the filler of the present invention, an illustration showing the foldup state of the present invention, an illustration showing the extended state of the present invention, an illustration showing a user lying on the side of the present invention, an illustration showing a state of use of the present invention as a bedding mattress, an illustration showing another state of use of the present invention as a floating means on the water, an illustration showing another state of use of the present invention as a car seat cushion, an illustration showing the state of use of the present invention as a car seat cushion with buckling means for securement, a perspective view showing the present invention comprising leg supporting pads, an illustration showing a multiple of the present invention connected in series; and an illustration showing a multiple of the present invention connected in series as a tool for rescue operation. As shown in the figures, the preferred embodiment of a multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support 1 of the present invention comprises a head supporting pad 11, a waist supporting pad 13, a neck supporting pad 12 and a hip supporting pad 15. The waist supporting pad 13 is moveably attached to a lateral side of the head supporting pad 11, and the neck supporting pad 12 is attached to one side of the head supporting pad 11 and comprising at least one arched portion 14 adjacent to a lateral side of the waist supporting pad 13. In addition, the hip supporting pad 15 is movable attached to another lateral side of the waist supporting pad 13 away from the head supporting pad 11, as shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 5. Furthermore, according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the bed apparatus further comprises at least one leg supporting pad 16 movably attached to a lateral side of the hip supporting pad 15 away from the waist supporting pad 13, as shown in FIG. 13. Again, as shown in FIG. 1 to FIG. 4, an user may alter the configuration of the form of the bed apparatus of the present invention according to different applications and needs by altering a curvature profile between any one of the head supporting pad 11, the waist supporting pad 13, the neck supporting pad 12, the hip supporting pad 15 and the leg supporting pad 16 (leg supporting pad 16 is not shown in the figure) with ergonomics configurations such that the bed apparatus is of any one of the following forms of an ergonomic bed and an ergonomic chair conforming to a body shape of a user.

In addition, according to the preferred embodiment of the multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support 1 of the present invention, the head supporting pad 11, the waist supporting pad 13, the neck supporting pad 12, the hip supporting pad 15 and the leg supporting pad 16 can be configured to be any one of the following forms of a discretely-formed unit, as shown in FIG. 5, and a connected-in-one unit. Furthermore, the head supporting pad 11, the waist supporting pad 13, the neck supporting pad 12, the hip supporting pad 15 and the leg supporting pad 16 can be removably attached to each other via any one of the following attachment means of a button-locking means, a zipper means, a magnetic means or an adhesive means to achieve a removable attachment therebetween. Please refer to FIG. 5A in which a button-locking means is shown and utilized for the removable attachment between the pads of the bed apparatus of the present invention such that the bed apparatus of the present invention is facilitated for storage and requiring less space (leg supporting pad 16 is not shown in the figure).

As shown in FIG. 6 and FIG. 7, the bed apparatus with a back support 1 of the present invention further comprises at least one sealed opening 17 selectively provided on at least one lateral side of said head supporting pad 11, said waist supporting pad 13, said neck supporting pad 12, said hip supporting pad 15 or said leg supporting pad 16 (not shown in the figures). In addition, said sealed opening 17 further comprises at least one air-sealing strip 171 provided to enclose a filler 2 therein. The filler 2 is selectively provided in an internal of said head supporting pad 11, said waist supporting pad 13, said neck supporting pad 12, said hip supporting pad 15 or said leg supporting pad 16 (not shown in the figures); and wherein said filler 2 is any one of the following types of a liquid-type filler, an air-type filler and a solid-type filler. Furthermore, at least one outlet 18 is selectively provided on at least one lateral side of said head supporting pad 11, said waist supporting pad 13, said neck supporting pad 12, said hip supporting pad 15 or said leg supporting pad 16 (not shown in the figures); and wherein said outlet 18 comprises an air-tight bolt 18 arranged corresponding thereto such that the filler 2 can be exchanged for different types or volumes with ease. As all of the filler 2 intially filled inside the bed apparatus 1 is extracted or released from the bed apparatus 1, the volume of the bed apparatus 1 is decreased to become thinner in size for easy and convenient storage. The bed apparatus 1 can too be further folded up into a smaller size with greater portability; it can also be equipped with an air-pump (not shown in the figures) for greater convenience and usability in various fields.

Please refer to FIG. 8 and FIG. 9. When a user lying on sides on the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention in a recovery position, the neck portion of the user can be adequately supported by the neck supporting pad 12 and the head portion of the user can be conformably supported by the head supporting pad 11; likewise, the body of the user can be properly supported by the waist supporting pad 13 and the hip supporting pad 15. As a result, muscle pains caused by improper sleeping postures and positions on the bed can be greatly improved, which too can help the user to effectively extend the spin of body to keep the back straight in a proper position as well as to prevent snoring during sleeps due to improper sleeping postures including bending of the neck and the respiration tracheae of the body of the user. Since the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention is advantageously provided with arched portions 14, the arm of the user can rest comfortably thereon when lying down on the bed apparatus 1 to prevent any arm muscle pains caused by improper sleeping postures including such as head rested and pressured onto the arms and muscles.

In addition to the aforementioned merits and uses, the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention is also applicable to other fields including such as its further use as a bedding mattress, a conventional bed, a floating bed or chair on the water, a camping bed or chair and a car seat cushion. It too can be used as a helpful gear for the military. FIG. 10 to FIG. 12 show different exemplary forms of the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention applied in different field of uses including mattress, water equipment and car seat cushion. As shown in FIG. 12A, as the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention is used as a car seat cushion, the bed apparatus 1 can be configured to further comprise at least one seat securement means 3 on at least one side of the bed apparatus 1 and the seat securement means 3 comprises at least one length adjuster 31 such that the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention can be firmly secured onto the car seat with ease. The seat securement means 3 can be provided not only to facilitate the securement of the bed apparatus 1 onto the car seat but also to assist a user (not shown in the figure) to sit properly and securely thereon.

As shown in FIG. 14, the bed apparatus 1 can be used as a single unit or as a combination including g a multiple number of the bed apparatus 1 connected in series for an enhanced use or application. For example, in the event of flooding, one may connect a multiple of the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention into a floating board, similar to a raft, to accommodate passengers and to assist any possible rescue personnel to stay onboard during the flooding since the addition of such multiple of the bed apparatus 1 connected together is able to create a much greater float on the water with greater safety.

In view of the above, it can be understood that the bed apparatus of the present invention demonstrates at least the following merits of:

1. The curvature profile of the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention can be altered according to the needs of the user with improved technical effects of enhanced applicability and simplified operations;
2. The arched portions 14 of the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention are able to provide adequate support to the arms of the user to prevent arm muscle pains and to increase the comfort of the bed apparatus.
3. With the sealed opening 17, air-sealing strip 171, outlet 18 and the air-tight bolt 181 being advantageously provided on the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention, the filler 2 to be filled into the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention can be exchanged and replaced with great ease.
4. By allowing the filler 2 to be filled with two different types of fillers, the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention can be greatly utilized in various different applications and fields.
5. By allowing the filler 2 to be extracted or separated from the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention, the storage size and portability of the bed apparatus can be greatly improved.
6. While the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention is configurable to different forms of either a discretely-formed unit or a connected-in-one unit, the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention can be connected in multiple to form a series thereof such that it is of greater applicability and usability in various field applications.
7. By providing seat securement means 3 for the attachment of the bed apparatus 1 to a car seat and for securing users thereon, the bed apparatus 1 of the present invention can be advantageously used as a car seat cushion with facilitated installation and uses with excellent safety measures.

Claims

1. A multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support, comprising:

a head supporting pad;
a waist supporting pad, moveably attached to a lateral side of said head supporting pad;
a neck supporting pad, attached to one side of said head supporting pad and comprising at least one arched portion adjacent to a lateral side of said waist supporting pad; and
a hip supporting pad, movable attached to another lateral side of said waist supporting pad away from said head supporting pad.

2. The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 1, further comprises at least one leg supporting pad movably attached to a lateral side of said hip supporting pad away from said waist supporting pad.

3. The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 2, further comprises at least one sealed opening selectively provided on at least one lateral side of said head supporting pad, said waist supporting pad, said neck supporting pad, said hip supporting pad or said leg supporting pad.

4. The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 3, wherein said sealed opening further comprises at least one air-sealing strip provided to enclose a filler therein.

5. The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 4, wherein said filler is selectively provided in an internal of said head supporting pad, said waist supporting pad, said neck supporting pad, said hip supporting pad or said leg supporting pad; and wherein said filler is any one of the following types of a liquid-type filler, an air-type filler and a solid-type filler.

The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 5, further comprises at least one outlet selectively provided on at least one lateral side of said head supporting pad, said waist supporting pad, said neck supporting pad, said hip supporting pad or said leg supporting pad; and wherein said outlet comprises an air-tight bolt arranged corresponding thereto.

The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 5, wherein said head supporting pad, said waist supporting pad, said neck supporting pad, said hip supporting pad and said leg supporting pad are configured to be any one of the following forms of a discretely-formed unit and a connected-in-one unit.

The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 5, wherein said head supporting pad, said waist supporting pad, said neck supporting pad, said hip supporting pad and said leg supporting pad are removably attached to each other via any one of the following attachment means of a button-locking means, a zipper means, a magnetic means or an adhesive means to achieve a removable attachment therebetween.

9. The multi-functional bed apparatus with a back support according to claim 2, wherein a curvature profile between any one of said head supporting pad, said waist supporting pad, said neck supporting pad, said hip supporting pad and said leg supporting pad is configured in accordance with ergonomics such that said bed apparatus is of any one of the following forms of an ergonomic bed and an ergonomic chair conforming to a body shape of a user.
