The “No Sway” Swing Guide is a device designed to help golfers maintain proper balance and alignment during their golf allows the golfer swing. The swing guide has a unique design that to “swing without swaying” on their backswing and prevents the golfer from reverse pivoting on their downswing. The device will guide the golfer to a better understanding all types of swings, including putting of the concept and functioning of a proper swing, with no sway and the correct spine angle.

The swing guide works for all ages, sizes, left-or-right handed golfers, and. The swing guide adjusts three ways:

By height—the adjustable hip-support bar extends upwards and downwards to adjust for height

By angle—the adjustable hip-support bar also has an angle adjuster attached at the platform to move the bar forward and upright for more or less of an upright stance

By pivot—by adjusting or removing the pivot bar underneath the platform, the golfer can adjust his/her pivot

Useful Properties of the Components: Foot Rest Platform:

The skid-resistant rectangular platform base is supported by the pivot bar with no-skid padding underneath. The pivot bar runs underneath the platform is adjustable and removable, it creates the downward angle in the platform that is demonstrated when the device is in the upright-position.

When the device is in the upright-position, the user should stand on the non-skid platform with the rear foot. The pivot bar underneath the platform, lifts the base creating a downward angle where the rear foot should be placed. The tilt in the platform created from the pivot bar allows the golfer's body to naturally distribute weight in his/her stance properly. While the golfer is maintaining a proper stance with hips and knees in position, his/her posture is overall improved.

Rotating Alignment Tool:

Attached to the side of the platform, the rotating alignment tool device aids the golfer in maintaining the proper foot alignment during the approach of the ball in order for more accurate shots and preventing erratic ball striking. The golfer rotates the tool away from the platform in front of his/her feet and uses the tool to further align the body and the feet, with the ball and the hole.

Adjustable Hip-Support Bar & Cushion Rest:

The adjustable hip-support bar can be raised or lowered to your height and comfort. It's as easy as adjusting the pull bar handle on a suitcase. It is meant to rest on the upper-most part of the golfer's leg in order to prevent the golfer from doing a reverse pivot on the downswing.

The bar is also cushioned at the top for the golfer's comfort. On the top of the cushion is a lock and release button to adjust the height and angle of the adjustable hip-support bar.

Pivot Bar—“Platform Lift”:

The pivot bar is the rectangular block underneath the platform raises the one side of the platform just enough to create a slight tilt in the base. The angle that is created helps to keep the foot at an angle, which applies the appropriate amount of weight on the insteps of the foot. The pivot bar is adjustable and removable depending on the sensitivity and weight of the golfer.

Back-Support Bar:

This is an optional component to the “No Sway” Swing Guide. It can be attached at either side of the cushion rest of the adjustable hip-support bar. This component aids the golfer by keeping his/her hips in place and continuing proper height and stance in the golfer's approach.

The Ideal Golf Swing:

Traits of an Ideal Golf Swing that the “No Sway” Swing Guide Aids:

Trait How to achieve it? How does the “No Sway” swing guide help?

Aiming Aligning the feet, in a manner that allows the club face to aim and strike the ball directly towards the target. The rotating alignment tool pointed at the target aids the golfer in the correct approach to the ball to shot directly at the target.

Alignment The feet of a golfer should create a linear path pointing directly at the target, thus allowing the clubface to strike the ball along the same linear path. The rotating alignment tool allows the golfer to properly align and maintain his/her feet for the appropriate clubface and aim.

Balance Weight should be balanced equally over the insteps of both feet, not toward the heels or the toes. The rectangular block lift on the raised platform keeps the right amount of weight on the inside of the feet.

Hip Position At the approach the hips should be aligned linear towards the target, when initiating the backswing the face of the hips should turn out towards the rear, stop, and then forward toward the target. From the initial position the golfer's hips are kept in the correct position by the adjustable hip-support bar, ensuring the golfer of his/her stance. The optional back support bar prevents from turning hips around too far and ensure the golfer of his/her posture.

Knee Adjustment Slightly flexed, aligned directly under the hips in the same linear fashion. With the correct position of the hips maintained by the adjustable hip-support bar, the golfer's knees are consistent with the hips further ensuring the golfer's stance.

Spine Angle Creating a 30° angle from an imaginary, straight, vertical line from the back of the golfer's shoe to the head and the imaginary straight line made by the golfer's spine. This 30° angle should be maintained through the swing. The adjustable hip-support bar with the optional back support bar aid the golfer by maintaining his proper posture and stance throughout the swing. These two components help to maintain the 30° spine angle throughout the swing, from backswing to downswing.

Definitions:

According to the PGA of America's Golf Glossary:

Backswing: The motion that involves the club and every element of the body in taking the club away from the ball and setting it in position at the top of the backswing from which the club can be delivered to the ball at impact.

Downswing: The swing forward from the top of the backswing.

Pivot: The rotation of the body around a relatively fixed point, usually the spine.

Reverse Pivot: That spine-wrenching position at the top of your swing in which your head tilts toward the target (usually because it's locked on the ball), your right hip juts out away from the target, and most of your weight is on your left side. (Courtesy of Golf.com)

Reverse Weight Shift: A swing flaw in which the weight moves forward on the backswing instead of to the back leg.

Swaying: An exaggerated lateral movement of the body on either the backswing, forward swing, or both, which results in inconsistent shotmaking.

The foregoing has described the principles, embodiments and modes of operation of the present invention. However, the invention should not be construed as being limited to the particular embodiments discussed. The above described embodiments should be regarded as illustrative rather than restrictive, and it should be appreciated that variations may be made in those embodiments by workers skilled in the art without departing from the scope of the present invention as defined by the following claims.
