Machine for doing an angled push up exercise
An exercise device for doing angled pushups is disclosed having two or more upper and lower panels joined together by a connecting structure which also enables them to fold, elevated foot supports incorporated into the upper panels, and a structure incorporated into the panels enabling the device to be maneuvered. In the preferred embodiment, the panels are one to five feet long, two to five wide and are joined together by a connecting structure which also enables them to fold. The upper panels have two or more elevated foot supports which can be folded in the open or closed position. The lower panels form a base which provides the user with a smooth and sturdy surface to place his hands upon while his feet are elevated upon one of the elevated foot supports which are incorporated into the upper panels

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTIONThis invention relates generally to the field of exercise and more specifically to a machine for doing an angled push up exercise.
This invention relates generally to the field of exercise and more specifically to an exercise device for doing an angled push up exercise which consists of two or more lower panels joined together to form a base, two or more upper panels joined together in which are incorporated elevated foot supports.
Other devices which allow for a user to do pushups at angle include U.S. Pat. No. 621,098, issued to Kelly in 1899, teach a foot or leg rest which is rigid relative to its framework; and U.S. Pat. No. 4,826,151 issued to Nuredin in 1989 for a push up and hand walking exerciser which contains a rigid ankle support; and U.S. Pat. No. 6,695,754, issued to Gazzolo in 2004 in which a device supports one or both ankles during a push up exercise, and U.S. Pat. No. 6,699,162 issued to Chen in 2004 in which the device relates generally to the field of exercise equipment and more particularly to an exercise apparatus to be used in conjunction with a resilient exercise ball. Such devices however, do not provide a base for the user to place his hands while he does the push up exercise, or they do not provide different elevated foot panels (which can be opened or closed when not in use) that the user can use to vary his foot elevation height when performing the angled push up exercise.
Other devices which allow for a user to do pushups at an angle do not solve the problem of providing a base for the user to place his hands while he does the push angled up exercise, or they do not provide different elevated foot support panels (which can be folded in the opened or closed position) that the user can use to vary his foot elevation height when performing the angled push up exercise.
To alleviate this problem, the present invention fulfills the need for a exercise device that, when the user opens the device, it forms an L shape, with the lower panels forming a base for the user to place his hands upon while performing the angled push up exercise, and the upper panels in which are incorporated elevated foot supports, enabling the user to elevate his feet during the angled push up exercise, and which can be folded in the open position when in use or folded in the closed position when not in use. The upper and lower panels of the device can be folded together also when not in use and easily stored. The product can be produced from a lightweight, durable, and recycled plastic.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn accordance with a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is disclosed a machine for doing an angled push up exercise comprising: two or more upper panels, two or more lower panels, elevated foot supports. The lower panels form a base for the user to place his hands upon while he performs the push up exercise. The elevated foot supports are incorporated into the upper panels and enable the user to vary his foot elevation height while he performs the push up exercise. The device has a collapse able design in which the upper and lower panels can be folded together in the closed position or unfolded into the open or “L” shaped configuration. The primary object of the invention is to provide an exercise device that enables the user to elevate his feet at various heights, using elevated foot supports that can be folded in the open position while he performs the push up exercise, thereby targeting different muscles of the chest and shoulders, and folded in the closed position when not in use.
Another object of the invention is to provide an exercise device in which the lower panels form a base for the user to place his hands upon while he performs the push up exercise. Another object of the invention is to provide an exercise device that serves as a stable alternative to makeshift props. A further object of the invention is to provide an exercise device that promotes physical fitness.
Yet another object of the invention is to provide an exercise device that provides a collapsible design for easy storage.
Other objects and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following descriptions, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein, by way of illustration and example, an embodiment of the present invention is disclosed.

1. A machine for doing an angled push up exercise comprising: two or more upper panels; two or more lower panels; elevated foot supports.
2. A machine for doing an angled push up exercise as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a means for connecting the upper and lower panels together which also enables them to fold
3. A machine for doing an angled push up exercise as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a means for securing the upper and lower panels in a fixed position
4. A machine for doing an angled push up exercise as claimed in claim 1 further comprising a means for securing the elevated foot supports to the upper panels, which also enables them to fold in the open or closed position.
