Traysaver-paint tray storage bag

-

A polyethylene plastic bag with a drawstring is shaped to allow placement and storage therein of a paint roller and paint tray in use, with a cotton drawstring at the apex of the polyethylene plastic bag which when drawn, forms an airtight seal which prevents the paint roller and paint tray, and the paint applied thereto, from drying. The polyethylene plastic bag has width of 16″ inches, length of 22″ inches, thickness of 2 mils, with cotton drawstring as a closure, with screened printing on the front of the bag (6″×9″) to accommodate writing thereon. The drawstring closure is pulled around the handle creating a seal, to keep the paint and roller from drying out. Once the bag is closed, the painter is able to write (in pen or marker) on the area provided on the front of the bag, to identify what product is in the tray.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Painters expend much time cleaning paint trays and paint rollers during the course of a paint job, each time they have to stop and resume their painting. The Traysaver is intended to save much time for painters, in allowing them to store their paint and roller in a polyethylene bag. Its width is 16″ inches. Its length is 22″ inches. Its thickness is 2 mils. It is made of polyethylene plastic. It has a cotton drawstring as a closure. It is made to fit around most 9″ paint trays. The polyethylene bag does not degrade with oil base paints or stains. Traysaver is disposable and easy to use.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Traysaver is a polyethylene bag with a cotton drawstring. The purpose of the Traysaver is to allow a painter to stop and then resume painting without having to clean a paint tray and a paint roller between coats of paint, or whenever painting is temporarily stopped. The paint roller and handle is placed in the tray, and the tray is then put in the bag. The drawstring closure is pulled around the handle, creating a seal to keep the paint and roller from drying out. The paint and roller which the painter is applying can then stay in the Traysaver for up to one week, saving the painter much time.

Once the bag is closed, a painter is able to write in pen or marker on the front of the bag, to identify what product is in the tray.

The Traysaver is made to fit around most 9″ paint trays. The polyethylene bag will not degrade with oil base paints or stains. The clear bag allows you to see what color is in the tray.

The closure is a specially made to wrap around the handle. Traysaver is disposable and easy to use.

FIG. 2 depicts rear 2 mil thick polyethylene bag with cotton drawstring

FIG. 3 depicts close-up of cotton drawstring closure, allows drawstring to wrap around roller handle and create seal.

FIG. 4 depicts 9″ inch roller handle with roller in a common 9″ inch paint tray.

FIG. 5 depicts TraySaver being places over roller tray.

FIG. 6 depicts TraySaver wrapped around tray and handle with closure pulled tight around handle, creating a seal.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The polyethylene plastic bag has a width of 16 inches, a length of 21 inches, and a thickness of 2 mils. It has a cotton drawstring to close it. On its frontal side, screened lettering appears so that a painter may write thereupon a logo, date of paint storage , room being painted, color being applied, sheen of paint being used, and notes of the painter. A paint roller and handle is placed in the paint tray, and the paint tray is then put in the bag. The drawstring closure is pulled around the handle, creating a seal to keep the paint and roller from drying out. Once the bag is closed, a painter is able to write (in pen or marker) on the area provided on the front of the bag, to identify what product is in the tray. This allows the paint roller in use to be stored without drying out, allowing its user to easily resume painting in progress. Its width is 16″ inches. Its length is 22″ inches. Its thickness is 2 mils. It is made out of polyethylene plastic. It has a cotton drawstring as a closure. It has screened printing on the front of the bag (6″×9″) to accommodate writing. Logo-Date-Room-Color-Sheen-empty lines for notes.

The paint roller and handle is placed in the tray and the tray is then put in the bag. The drawstring closure is pulled around the handle, creating a seal to keep the paint and roller from drying out. Once the bag is closed, a painter is able to write (in pen or marker) on the area provided on the front of the bag, to identify what product is in the tray.

The purpose of the Tray Saver is to let a painter stop and start painting, without having to clean the tray and roller between coats or when they have to stop painting. The paint and roller can then stay in the bag for up to a week.

Traysaver is not just a plastic bag used to wrap around a paint tray. It was designed to make painting less time-consuming, and less waste of paint. It was made to fit around most 9″ paint trays, a plastic garbage is too large and the plastic bag ends up in the tray, making a mess when the tray is removed. With Traysaver a painter is able to transport a tray and roller anywhere. The polyethylene bag will not degrade with oil base paints or stains. The clear bag allows one to observe what color is in the tray. The closure is specially made to wrap around the handle. Traysaver is disposable and easy to use.
