Support Stand for a Wok
A support stand for a cooking wok includes a plurality of legs and a fuel supporting plate or disc. The legs are attached to the fuel supporting plate or disc intermediate the upper and lower portions of the legs via a plurality of notches provided in the periphery of the disc or legs or in both. A weld is provided at the notches to fixedly secure the legs to the fuel support disc.
1. Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a support stand for a wok cooking dish. The support stand includes a disc shaped member secured to a plurality of legs. The disc shaped member serves as a support for fuel for heating the contents of a wok which is supported by the stand.
2. Description of Related Art
U.S. Pat. No. 943,569 discloses a collapsible pocket stove device including a disc 1 that supports fuel and is releasably attached to a plurality of legs 22.
U.S. Pat. No. 4,502,460 discloses a first disc for supporting fuel having a plurality of legs 44 extending downwardly from the disc. A second cooking disc 14 supported by legs 28 is placed on top of the fuel supporting disc 40. The assembly is not stable and can easily be knocked over such that the food and or fuel would be scattered on the ground.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe invention disclosed herein is for a stable support stand for a wok cooking dish. The stand includes a plurality of legs that are securely attached to a disc that serves as a support for fuel. The disc is connected to the legs at a point intermediate their ends such that legs extend vertically above the fuel disc. The upper ends of the legs are sloped to support a cooking wok which may include one or more handles.

Claims
1. A support stand for a wok comprising:
- a plurality of support legs having an upper portion and a lower portion;
- a fuel support plate; and
- means for fixedly securing the support legs to the fuel support plate at a location intermediate the upper and lower portions of the support legs.
2. A support stand for wok wherein the means for fixedly securing the support legs to the fuel support plate includes a plurality of notches formed in the periphery of the fuel support plate and a weld between each support leg and each notch.
3. A support stand for a wok as claimed in claim 1 wherein the means for fixedly securing the support legs to the fuel support plate includes a notch in each one of the support legs and a weld between each notch and the fuel support plate.
4. A support stand for a wok as claimed in claim 1 wherein the means for fixedly securing the support legs to the fuel support plate includes a notch in each leg and a plurality of notches in the periphery of the fuel support plate, and a weld extending between the notch in each leg and the notches in the fuel support plate.
5. A support stand for a wok as claimed in claim 1 wherein the plurality of legs comprises three legs.
