ATTACHABLE BRUSH FOR A GOLF SHOE

Abstract

An attachable brush is configured to accommodate footwear. The attachable brush includes a brush further comprising a brush base mechanically coupled to brush bristles that are configured to clean debris from a golf club. An adjustable bracket is mechanically coupled to the brush. The adjustable bracket has an upper angled member mechanically coupled to a central angled member with a set of grips. The central angled member is mechanically coupled to a lower member. An upper bracket is detachably coupled to the adjustable bracket and further comprising an upper bracket horizontal portion mechanically coupled to an upper bracket vertical portion. The upper bracket is configured to grasp a portion of the footwear and the central angled member is configured to also grip the footwear on an opposite side in order to secure the attachable brush beneath the golf shoe.

RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims priority to provisional patent application U.S. Ser. No. 61/824,735 filed on May 17, 2013, the entire contents of which is herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND

The embodiments herein relate generally to sports equipment and accessories.

Prior to embodiments of the disclosed invention, golfers spent too much time and effort to clean the golf club face after every swing of the club. This removed focus from practice. Golf club faces must be free of dirt, grass and so on to maintain actuate impact with the golf ball; keeping the face of the club clean also prevents wear and tear.

Previously, people used cleaning buckets provided by the facility. However, those were sometimes several steps away from the practice boxes/area, a distance that was not reasonable to trek after every swing and results in a loss of focus by the golfer.

SUMMARY

An attachable brush is configured to accommodate a golf shoe having a lip. The attachable brush includes a brush further comprising a brush base mechanically coupled to brush bristles that are configured to clean debris from a golf club. An adjustable bracket is mechanically coupled to the brush. The adjustable bracket has an upper angled member mechanically coupled to a central angled member. The central angled member is mechanically coupled to a lower member. An upper bracket is detachably coupled to the adjustable bracket and further comprising an upper bracket horizontal portion mechanically coupled to an upper bracket vertical portion. The upper bracket is configured to grasp a portion of the lip and the central angled member is configured to be above the lip in order to secure the attachable brush beneath the golf shoe.

In some embodiments, the central angled member can be mechanically coupled to central angled member shoe clips that are configured to be above the lip in order to secure the attachable brush beneath the golf shoe. The upper bracket horizontal portion can be mechanically coupled to upper bracket shoe clips that are configured to grasp the lip.

In some embodiments, an adjustment hook can be mechanically coupled to the lower member and can be configured to grasp the upper bracket through an upper bracket adjustment hole. The upper bracket horizontal portion and can be configured to grasp the lower member through an adjustment hole.

In some embodiments, the adjustable bracket can be a rounded adjustable bracket. The upper bracket can be a rounded upper bracket.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CERTAIN EMBODIMENTS

By way of example, and referring to FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, one embodiment of the attachable brush 10 comprises brush 20. Brush 20 further comprises brush base 22 mechanically coupled to brush bristles 24 which are configured to remove debris from a golf club. Brush base 22 further comprises two brush fastener cavities 26.

Adjustable bracket 30 comprises upper angled member 32 mechanically coupled to central angled member 34. Central angled member 34 is mechanically coupled to lower member 36. Upper angled member 32 is perforated at fastener attachment points 28. Fastener attachment points 28 can accommodate fasteners 50 which mechanically coupled brush 20 to adjustable bracket 30. Central angled member 34 is mechanically coupled to central angled member shoe clips 38. Lower member 36 is perforated with adjustment holes 40 and is attached to adjustment hook 42.

Upper bracket 60 comprises upper bracket horizontal portion 70 mechanically coupled to upper vertical portion 64. Upper bracket horizontal portion 70 is mechanically coupled to upper bracket tongue 62 and perforated with upper bracket adjustment holes 66. Upper vertical portion 64 is mechanically coupled to upper bracket shoe clips 68.

Turning to FIG. 3, FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, upper bracket tongue 62 slides though an adjustment hole 40 in lower member 36. Likewise, adjustment hook 42 slides through upper bracket adjustment holes 66. This operates to detachably couple adjustable bracket 30 to upper bracket 60.

Footwear G comprises heel H mechanically coupled to outsole 0. On footwear G a portion of heel H and outsole 0 extend past the vamp forming lip W, which entirely surrounds the vamp. However, footwear G can be any type of footwear and such as sandals and tennis shoes and is not limited to the oxford golf shoe shown.

Heel H is attached to cleats C as necessary depending on local golf course regulations. Regardless, footwear G has an inside, facing the user's other shoe, and an outside, facing away from the user. In FIG. 3, the inside is shown to left and the outside is shown to right. This however is totally arbitrary and can go on the outside of either the right or left shoe or even the inside of either shoe to accommodate either a left or right handed golfer.

Upper bracket shoe clips 68 are configured to rest immediately adjacent to lip W. Central angled member shoe clips 38 are configured to rest slightly about lip W. Upper bracket shoe clip 68 and central angled member shoe clips 38 are also intended with the use of the radius spring action clips to grip onto the side of most any footwear G securely. Upper bracket tongue 62 and adjustment hook 42 are configured to provide a length underneath footwear G and slightly forward of heel H in order to be held firmly in place without disrupting the golfer. As it fits into the arch part of footwear G.

Central angled member 34 bends toward upper vertical portion 64 at an acute angle. Upper angled member 32 bends away from upper vertical portion 64 at an obtuse angle. This keeps brush 20 well away from the golfer.

Turning to FIG. 6 and FIG. 7, rounded attachable brush 10 comprises rounded adjustable bracket 130 having rounded upper angled member 132 mechanically coupled to rounded central angled member 134. Rounded central angled member 134 is mechanically coupled to rounded lower member 136. Rounded upper angled member 132 is perforated at rounded fastener attachment points 128. Rounded fastener attachment points 128 can accommodate fasteners 50 which mechanically coupled brush 20 to rounded adjustable bracket 130 as indicated above. Rounded lower member 136 is mechanically coupled to rounded adjustment hook 142.

Rounded upper bracket 160 comprises rounded upper bracket horizontal portion 170 mechanically coupled to rounded upper bracket vertical portion 164. Rounded upper bracket horizontal portion 170 is mechanically coupled to rounded upper bracket tongue 162. Rounded upper vertical portion 164 is mechanically coupled to rounded upper bracket shoe clips 168.

Rounded upper bracket tongue 162 slides into lower member 136. Likewise, adjustment hook 142 slides into rounded upper bracket horizontal portion 170. This operates to detachably couple rounded adjustable bracket 130 to rounded upper bracket 160. These components are configured to contact ground beneath footwear G further holding rounded adjustable brush 110 in place.

Rounded adjustable bracket 130 and rounded upper bracket 160 can be made from heat treated spring steel with a radius configured to react like a spring clip that allows the rounded upper bracket shoe clips 168 and rounded central angled member shoe clips 138 to clamp on to most any footwear G with or without a lip.

Persons of ordinary skill in the art may appreciate that numerous design configurations may be possible to enjoy the functional benefits of the inventive systems. Thus, given the wide variety of configurations and arrangements of embodiments of the present invention the scope of the invention is reflected by the breadth of the claims below rather than narrowed by the embodiments described above.

Claims

1. An attachable brush configured to be attached to footwear; the attachable brush comprising:

a brush further comprising a brush base mechanically coupled to brush bristles configured to clean debris from a golf club;

an adjustable bracket mechanically coupled to the brush; the adjustable bracket further comprising an upper angled member mechanically coupled to a central angled member wherein, the central angled member is mechanically coupled to a lower member;

an upper bracket detachably coupled to the adjustable bracket and further comprising an upper bracket horizontal portion mechanically coupled to an upper bracket vertical portion;

wherein the upper bracket is configured to grasp a portion of the footwear and the central angled member is configured to be above the footwear in order to secure the attachable brush beneath the footwear.

2. The attachable brush of claim 1, wherein the central angled member is mechanically coupled to central angled member shoe clips that are configured to be above the footwear in order to secure the attachable brush beneath the golf shoe.

3. The attachable brush of claim 2, wherein the upper bracket horizontal portion is mechanically coupled to upper bracket shoe clips that are configured to grasp the footwear.

4. The attachable brush of claim 1, wherein the upper bracket horizontal portion is mechanically coupled to upper bracket shoe clips that are configured to grasp the footwear.

5. The attachable brush of claim 1, wherein an adjustment hook is mechanically coupled to the lower member and is configured to grasp the upper bracket through an upper bracket adjustment hole.

6. The attachable brush of claim 5, wherein an upper bracket tongue is mechanically coupled to the upper bracket horizontal portion and is configured to grasp the lower member through an adjustment hole.

7. The attachable brush of claim 1, wherein an upper bracket tongue is mechanically coupled to the upper bracket horizontal portion and is configured to grasp the lower member through an adjustment hole.

8. The attachable brush of claim 1, wherein the adjustable bracket is a rounded adjustable bracket and the upper bracket is a rounded upper bracket configured to contact ground beneath the golf shoe further holding the adjustable brush in place.
