Ornamentation System
An ornamentation system is provided that includes one or more jewel settings that are detachably connected to one or more fashion accessories. The system can include one or more setting mounts each of which can receive a jewel setting. The jewel settings of the present disclosure can be detachably mounted to a fashion accessory while in use and removed as needed. Likewise, the fashion accessories of the present disclosure can receive different jewel settings as desired.
The present disclosure relates generally to fashion accessories. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to jeweled ornamentation of fashion accessories.
BACKGROUNDIn the area of fashion accessories, jeweled ornamentation is common. In some cases, jeweled ornamentation includes precious and semi-precious stones. Due to the their aesthetic appeal, jewel ornamentation is commonly used on different accessories. Previously, the use of jeweled ornamentation on different fashion accessories required that separate jewels be provided for each accessory, thereby increasing the costs associated with multiple jeweled pieces. Oftentimes, the value of some jeweled ornamentation created security issues with adorning certain accessories with such ornamentation.
Consequently, there arose a need for a system by which various fashion accessories can be adorned with jeweled ornamentation that is detachable and removably mountable to the various fashion accessories.
SUMMARYThe present disclosure, in part, encompasses an ornamentation system for fashion accessories comprising a jewel setting comprising an ornamental feature, a first setting mount connected to a first fashion accessory and configured to receive the jewel setting, wherein the first setting mount comprises a first fastener element, wherein the first fastener element detachably engages the jewel setting when received by the first setting mount, a second setting mount connected to a second fashion accessory and configured to receive the jewel setting, wherein the second setting mount comprises a second fastener element, wherein the second fastener element detachably engages the jewel setting when received by the second setting mount. The ornamentation system also can include a gem attached to the jewel setting. Additionally, one of the first and the second fashion accessories can be a purse, a necklace, or an earring. In the embodiment wherein one of the first or second fashion accessories is a necklace, a setting mount can be detachably connected to the necklace. In one aspect, the second fashion accessory can be detachably connected to the first fashion accessory.
In another embodiment, the jewel setting of the ornamentation system is threadably engaged to at least one of the setting mounts. In yet another aspect, the jewel setting can be magnetically connected to at least one of setting mounts. In still a further aspect, the ornamentation system can comprise a third setting mount connected to a third accessory, wherein the third setting mount is configured to receive the jewel setting. In such an embodiment, the first accessory can be a purse, the second accessory can be a necklace, and the third accessory can be an earring.
The present disclosure also encompasses a purse that includes an outer shell comprising an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an opening formed therein, wherein the interior surface forms a cavity in communication with the opening. The purse also comprises a setting mount disposed at the exterior surface of the outer shell; and a jewel setting comprising an ornamental feature, wherein the jewel setting is detachably engaged to the setting mount. In one aspect, the jewel setting further comprises a face, a back and a post extending from the back. The purse also can comprise a gem disposed in the jewel setting. In another aspect, the jewel setting can be threadably engaged to the setting mount. In still a further aspect, the jewel setting can be magnetically engaged to the setting mount. The purse also further can comprise a chain detachably connected to the outer shell.
The present disclosure also can encompass an ornamentation system comprising a purse that includes an outer shell having an exterior surface, an exterior surface, and an opening formed therein, a jewel setting detachably mounted to the exterior surface of the outer shell, a chain detachably connected to the outer shell, wherein the chain comprises a first end and a second end, and wherein the first end can be detachably connected to the first end to form a necklace when the chain is detached from the outer shell, and, a pendant having a setting mount formed thereon, wherein the jewel setting can be detachably connected to the pendant, and wherein the pendant is detachably connected to the necklace formed by the chain. In another aspect, the ornamentation system can comprise a setting mount attached to the purse, wherein the jewel setting is received by the setting mount when detachably mounted to the exterior surface of the outer shell of the purse.

The present disclosure encompasses ornamentation systems that include one or more jewel settings that can be detachably connected to different fashion accessories. The jewel settings include one or more ornamental features, such as one or more precious or semi-precious gems including, but not limited to, diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald, amethyst, pearl, opal, topaz, agate, alexandrite, aquamarine, spinel, olivine, quartz, turquoise, zircon, or other gemstone, beads, enameled ornaments, other forms of jeweled ornamentation, precious metals and combinations thereof. The jewel settings can be detachably connected to different accessories of the same type or, alternatively, different types of fashion accessories. Fashion accessories, such as purses, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, and earrings having setting mounts that can receive detachably connected jewel settings are encompassed by the present disclosure.

The disclosed ornamentation systems can be used to connect a jewel setting to multiple fashion accessories. Likewise, multiple jewel settings can be used in conjunction with a single fashion accessory. For example, earrings of the type disclosed herein can be used in conjunction with jewel settings containing diamonds on one occasion; and on another occasion the same earrings can be used in conjunction with other jewel settings that contain sapphires or some other gem. In this manner, the options for personal ornamentation can be expanded with fewer pieces.
Each of the embodiments of the jewel settings and setting mounts disclosed herein can be used with various types of accessories. In each case, the disclosed setting mounts are attached to the particular fashion accessory, whether a purse, pendant, earring, necklace, bracelet, or other accessory and are configured to receive a jewel setting with the appropriate fastening mechanism. The use various fasteners disclosed in the embodiments of the jewel settings and setting mounts can vary as appropriate to accommodate the size and shape of the ornamentation formed on the jewel settings and to conform to the fashion accessory to which the settings are attached.
The present disclosure encompasses not only the disclosed jewel setting and setting mount combinations and their respective fastening means, but also individual fashion accessories and combinations thereof.

Claims
1. An ornamentation system for fashion accessories comprising:
- a jewel setting comprising an ornamental feature;
- a first setting mount connected to a first fashion accessory and configured to receive the jewel setting, wherein the first setting mount comprises a first fastener element, wherein the first fastener element detachably engages the jewel setting when received by the first setting mount; and,
- a second setting mount connected to a second fashion accessory and configured to receive the jewel setting, wherein the second setting mount comprises a second fastener element, wherein the second fastener element detachably engages the jewel setting when received by the second setting mount.
2. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein the jewel setting further comprises a gem attached thereto.
3. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein at least one of the first and the second fashion accessories is a purse.
4. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein the first fashion accessory is a necklace.
5. The ornamentation system of claim 4, wherein the first setting mount is detachably connected to the necklace.
6. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein the second fashion accessory is an earring.
7. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein the second fashion accessory is detachably connected to the first fashion accessory.
8. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein the jewel setting is threadably engaged to the first setting mount.
9. The ornamentation system of claim 1, wherein the jewel setting is magnetically connected to the first setting mount.
10. The ornamentation system of claim 1, further comprising a third setting mount connected to a third fashion accessory, wherein the third setting mount is configured to receive the jewel setting.
11. The ornamentation system of claim 10, wherein the first accessory is a purse, the second accessory is a necklace, and the third accessory is an earring.
12. A purse comprising:
- an outer shell comprising an interior surface, an exterior surface, and an opening formed therein, wherein the interior surface forms a cavity in communication with the opening;
- a setting mount disposed at the exterior surface of the outer shell; and,
- a jewel setting comprising an ornamental feature, wherein the jewel setting is detachably engaged to the setting mount.
13. The purse of claim 12, wherein the jewel setting further comprises a face, a back and a post extending from the back.
14. The purse of claim 12, further comprising a gem disposed in the jewel setting.
15. The purse of claim 12, wherein the jewel setting is threadably engaged to the setting mount.
16. The purse of claim 12, wherein the jewel setting is magnetically engaged to the setting mount.
17. The purse of claim 12, further comprising a chain detachably connected to the outer shell.
18. An ornamentation system comprising:
- a purse comprising an outer shell having an exterior surface, an exterior surface, and an opening formed therein;
- a jewel setting detachably mounted to the exterior surface of the outer shell;
- a chain detachably connected to the outer shell, wherein the chain comprises a first end and a second end, and wherein the first end can be detachably connected to the second end to form a necklace when the chain is detached from the outer shell; and,
- a pendant having a setting mount formed thereon, wherein the jewel setting is detachably receivable by the setting mount, and wherein the pendant is detachably connectable to the necklace.
19. The ornamentation system of claim 18, further comprising a setting mount attached to the purse, wherein the jewel setting is received by the setting mount when detachably mounted to the exterior surface of the outer shell of the purse.
