Wall Mountable Adjustable Bow And Arrow Holder Combination
The present invention discloses a wall mountable adjustable bow and arrow holder combination which comprises a wall mountable structure that can be adjusted to hold arrows of different lengths and a wall mountable structure that can be adjusted to hold bows of different lengths. The adjustable arrow holder and bow holder are connected through metal brackets. The orientation of the adjustable arrow holder on the wall may be changed.
1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates generally to a bow and arrow holder combination and more specifically to a wall mountable adjustable bow and arrow holder combination.
2. Description of Related Art
Storage rack and assembly is known in the art. More specifically, by way of example, U.S. Pat. No. 5,810,177 to Cabiran discloses a Versatile Tool Rack Assembly which is made of two or more rack pans each supported at all corners with pan support beams with multiple mounting holes for adjustment of the spacing of the rack pans. Rack pans are usually identical and are generally attached to the pan support beams with assembly bolts and assembly nuts or capture nuts. Rack assemblies may be attached to a wall, floor, ceiling, post, base, workbench, etc. or another rack assembly.
U.S. Pat. No. 5,524,772 to Simmons discloses a Locking Gun Rack which includes an elongated vertical frame member having a pair of firearm support cradles extending therefrom in vertically spaced relation.
U.S. Pat. No. 4,986,427 to Law discloses a Storage Rack which is a continuation in part of U.S. Pat. No. 4,796,762, again disclosing a storage rack for holding generally elongated gear (see below).
U.S. Pat. No. 4,796,762 to Law discloses a Storage Rack which is for holding generally elongated gear having an upper and a lower end comprising a pair of generally vertical suspension members, a first support member at least partially suspended by the suspension members and adapted to receive the lower end of the gear to be stored, a second support member at least partially suspended by the suspension members and adapted to received the upper end of the gear to be stored, and a fishing tackle box removably suspended below the generally vertical suspension members.
U.S. Pat. No. 4,450,967 to Castro discloses an Archery Rack which is an archery equipment storage rack including a base member, in the form of a cabinet or shelf, on which are supported radially spaced, concentric and geometrically similar outer and inner frame members. Angularly spaced apertures in the outer frame member are radially aligned with respective angularly spaced recesses in the inner frame member so that arrows can be stored with their tips in the recesses and their shafts supported in respective apertures in a fan-shaped pattern wherein the arrow feathers are spaced further apart than the arrowheads. At least one pair of support pegs extends forwardly from their outer frame member to support a bow horizontally.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONIn an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, there is disclosed a wall mountable adjustable bow and arrow holder combination which comprises a wall mountable structure that can be adjusted to hold arrows of different lengths and a wall mountable structure that can be adjusted to hold bows of different lengths.
The arrow holder according to the present invention comprises a stationary framework, a sliding mechanism and a right and left board mounted on the framework and movable from a non-extended position to an extended position through the sliding mechanism between the framework and both boards. The adjustable arrow holder further comprises a spacer which is configured to fit into the gap and is coplanar with both boards in an extended position. The adjustable arrow holder further comprises arrow shaft holders which have apertures configured to hold arrow shafts. The adjustable arrow holder further comprises mounting brackets for attachment of the arrow holder to a wall.
The adjustable bow holder comprises a substantially rectangular body which has a horizontal groove along the length of the body and a pair of moving hangers for supporting the bow limb. The adjustable bow holder may further comprise a stationary hanger in the middle of the body above the groove for providing additional support to the bow. The adjustable bow holder further comprises mounting brackets for attachment of the bow holder to a wall.
The adjustable arrow holder and bow holder are connected through metal brackets. The orientation of the adjustable arrow holder on the wall may be changed.
Before explaining at least one embodiment of the invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and the arrangements of the components set forth in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways. As such, those skilled in the art will appreciate that the conception, upon which this disclosure is based, may readily be utilized as a basis for the designing of other structures, methods and systems for carrying out the several purposes of the present invention. It is important, therefore, that the claims be regarded as including such equivalent constructions insofar as they do not depart from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
Those skilled in the art should appreciate that they can readily use the disclosed conception and specific embodiment as a basis for designing or modifying other structures for carrying out the same purposes of the present invention and that such other structures do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention in its broadest form.

The framework 11 further comprises mounting brackets 19 on each corner which are used to mount the adjustable arrow holder 10 onto a wall. The adjustable arrow holder 10 further comprises a slide cover 20 for arrowheads 204 which can be removably mounted on the wall at a position to receive the arrowheads. In the preferred embodiment with these dimensions, the adjustable arrow holder can hold twelve counts of arrows. In other embodiments, the dimensions of the adjustable arrow holder 10 and corresponding spacer 15 can vary in order to hold different counts of arrows or arrows of different lengths.

Therefore, the distance between the two hangers 54 is adjustable to adapt to bows of different sizes. The adjustable bow holder 50 may further comprise a stationary hanger 52 in the middle of the body 51 above the groove 53 for providing additional support to the bow. The two moving hangers 54 are normally set at an equal distance away from the stationary hanger 52. When a bow 300 is hung on the bow holder 50 the center of the bow limb 302 is hung on the stationary hanger 52 and the upper limb and lower limb are hung on the moving hangers 54 respectively. The adjustable bow holder 50 further comprises mounting brackets 59 to mount the adjustable bow holder 50 onto a wall. In a preferred embodiment, the adjustable bow holder's body 51 is approximately 32 inches in length and four inches in width. Each of the mounting brackets 57 is two inches long and four inches wide. In other embodiments, the aforementioned elements may have different dimensions.
The adjustable arrow holder 10 and bow holder 50 are connected through metal brackets 60. In the preferred embodiment, the dimensions for the metal bracket are one inch long by two inches wide.
While there have been shown and described and pointed out the fundamental novel features of the invention as applied to the preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention and not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed. Obvious modifications or variations are possible in light of the above teachings. The embodiments discussed were chosen and described to provide the best illustration of the principles of the invention and its practical application to enable one of ordinary skill in the art to utilize the invention in various embodiments and with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated All such modifications and variations are within the scope of the invention as determined by the appended claims when interpreted in accordance with the breadth to which they are entitled.
Claims
1. A wall mountable adjustable bow and arrow combination comprising:
- an adjustable arrow holder comprising a stationary framework, a sliding mechanism, a right and left board mounted on the framework and movable from a non-extended position to an extended position via the sliding mechanism between the the framework and the boards, a spacer configured to fill into a gap between the right and left board in the extended position, a first arrow shaft holder attached to a front of the right board along the right edge; a second arrow shaft holder attached to a front of the left board along the left edge, and a mounting means for attaching the arrow holder to a wall; and
- an adjustable bow holder comprising a substantially rectangular body which has a horizontal track along its length, a pair of moving hangers able to slide across the entire length of the track such that a distance between the moving hangers is adjustable to support different sized bows, and a mounting means for attaching the bow holder to the wall;
- wherein each of the arrow shaft holders has a plurality of internal apertures arranged vertically, each of the apertures holds one individual arrow shaft.
2. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 1, wherein the sliding mechanism between the framework and the boards includes but is not limited to slide tracks on the framework and slide wheels with grooves configured to engage the slide tracks on the back of the boards for enabling movement of the boards and a stopper for stopping the movement and locking the boards in place.
3. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 1, further comprising a slide cover for protecting arrowheads.
4. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 3, wherein the bow holder further comprising a stationary hanger located in the middle above the track for providing additional support for the bow.
5. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 4 further comprising a metal bracket connects the adjustable arrow holder and the adjustable bow holder;

The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 4, wherein each of the moving hangers has a L-shaped hook and fastening means going through a channel inside one side of the L-shaped hook with a tail of the fastening means configured to locate slide inside and slide across the track until secured/locked by friction at a desired location.

The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 4, wherein the spacer is put into the gap between the right and left boards and has dowels at its lateral sides to fit into corresponding holes on the boards and is coplanar with both the boards in the extended position for longer arrows and is removed from the gap such that the right and left boards can slide together for crossbow and children's arrows.
8. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 4, wherein the width of the arrow holder is approximately 10 inches and the length of the arrow holder is approximately 14 inches in a non-extended position and 20 inches in an extended position.
9. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 8, wherein the spacer is approximately 10 inches wide and 6 inches long.
10. The adjustable bow and arrow combination of claim 9, wherein the substantially rectangular body is approximately 32 inches long and 4 inches wide.
