BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a reversible bra with a reversible clasp that fastens in the front, between a pair of cups.

2. Description of Related Art

Brassieres or bras are common accessories generally worn by women to support and cradle their breasts. From the time a young girl starts to develop they learn to wear a bra and do so for the rest of their lives. The average woman may accumulate many, many bras during their lifetime each with different purposes, styles and comfort levels. As more bras are purchased the amount of money spent quickly accumulates, whereas the space needed to store the bras shrinks in correlation. Accordingly, to address the issue of money and space, some bras have been developed to be reversible. In this case, the woman may wear the bra normally, and then as an option flip the bra inside out and wear the reverse side on the outside. This provides a two-in-one option for her cutting down on the costs and storage space needed.

Various types of reversible bras have been created to provide a user brassiere options. For example, U.S. Pat. No. 7,435,156 by Zhen Quang Liu discloses a reversible brassiere with cups that include a first side and a second side. The different sides give the wearer the option of choosing which side to display. Likewise, U.S. Pat. No. 7,306,505 by Dawn Barbour et al. discloses a reversible sports bra. The sports bra may be turned inside out at will by the user. Finally, U.S. Pat. No. 7,887,390 by Maxine M. Dowe discloses a reversible bra where the back closure is reversible, enabling easier fastening whether displaying the first or second cup side.

While these bras do provide a reversible feature, there still exists a desire in the art to provide a reversible bra that may include a front closure for additional convenience. Also, it would be beneficial in the art to provide a reversible bra that includes changeable straps to wear the bra with the latest clothing styles.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The present invention relates to a reversible bra with a reversible clasp that fastens in the front, between a pair of cups. The present invention provides a reversible bra as a two-in-one style undergarment. The reversible bra includes a pair of cups with different colors or designs on each side to enable the user to choose between two designs to wear that day. By providing two design options in a single bra the user reduces the costs they spend on expensive lingerie, and reduces the amount of space used to store the brassiere.

Turning now descriptively to the drawings, referring to FIG. 1, a perspective view of a reversible bra 10 is shown in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The reversible bra 10 includes a pair of cups 12 extending across the front to support a user's breasts. The pair of cups 12 may include an underwire to provide form and greater support to the pair of cups 12. FIG. 1A illustrates a first side of the pair of cups 12. Attached to the pair of cups 12 may be a pair of straps 14. The pair of straps 14 rest over the user's shoulders to support the pair of cups 12. The pair of straps 14 may be connected to a back strap 22, as shown in FIG. 1B illustrating the backside of the reversible bra 10. The back strap 22 wraps around the user's torso to connect the pair of cups 12 around the backside of the user. The pair of straps 14 may include a pair of slide adjustors 20 to modify the length of the pair of straps 14.

Attaching the pair of cups 12 to each other 12 may be a reversible front clasp 16. The reversible front clasp 16 secures the pair of cups 12 against the user's body in the front for easy fastening and adjustment. As shown in FIG. 1B, the pair of cups 12 include a second side 18, where the user may wear the reversible bra 10 with the first side 12 showing or the second side 18 showing. The reversible front clasp 16 is designed to fasten whether the first side 12 or the second side 18 is showing.

Referring now to FIG. 2(A), a perspective view of a reversible bra 100 is shown in accordance with a second embodiment of the present invention. The reversible bra 100 includes a pair of cups 102, a pair of straps 104 and a reversible front clasp 106. Within the pair of cups 102 may be an insert 108. The insert 108 may be a removable padding to serve as a push-up pad adding lift and volume to the appearance of user's breasts. The insert 108 may provide a natural appearance outside the cups 102 while still giving desired support and fullness.

Referring to FIG. 2(B), the reversible bra 100 is shown as a third embodiment of the present invention. The reversible bra 100 may include a pair of straps 104 that form a criss-cross 110 across the user's back. The criss-cross straps 110 may enable a user wear more athletic style tops without the straps 104 being seen on the user's shoulders. Additionally, the straps 104 may be detachable to enable the user to change between the standard strap formation shown in FIG. 2A and the criss-cross 110 formation shown in FIG. 2B. Finally, one or both detachable straps 104 may be removed from the reversible bra 100 to create either a single strap bra or a staples bra (illustrated in FIG. 2(C)).

The reversible bra provides a two-in-one design wherein the user may choose between wearing the first side of the cups showing or the second side of the cups showing. The reversible cups may be decorated with colors, designs and patterns, a different one on each side. The reversible bra may be made from a durable nylon, soft lace, silk, cotton, satin or similar materials. Available in a range of sizes from 32A to 38DD, the reversible bra provides a comfortable and practical alternative to standard bras, reducing undergarment costs and storage space necessary for women and young ladies.

The foregoing descriptions of specific embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The exemplary embodiment was chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical application, to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention and various embodiments with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
