Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a cigar holding device.

A cigar is a tightly-rolled bundle of dried and fermented tobacco that is ignited so that its smoke may be drawn into the mouth. While smoking a cigar, the smoke may permeate the user's fingers and therefore make the fingers smell unpleasant. Further, when placing the cigar down, the cigar may become wet or exposed to chemicals and a user may not be able to smoke the entire cigar without burning their fingers.

As can be seen, there is a need for a cigar holder.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a cigar holding device comprises: a pliable rod comprising a U-shaped body, and a first end portion and a second end portion, wherein the U-shaped body forms a handle and the first end portion and the second end portion forms a cigar holder, wherein the first end portion meets the U-shaped body at a first bend and the second end portion meets the U-shaped body at a second bend.

In another aspect of the present invention, a method of gripping a cigar comprises: providing a pliable rod comprising a U-shaped body, and a first end portion and a second end portion, wherein the U-shaped body forms a handle and the first end portion and the second end portion forms a cigar holder, wherein the first end portion meets the U-shaped body at a first bend and the second end portion meets the U-shaped body at a second bend; placing the cigar in between the first end portion and the second end portion; squeezing the first end portion and the second end portion closer together, wherein the first end portion and the second end portion secure the cigar in between.

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

FIG. 2.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

Broadly, an embodiment of the present invention provides a cigar holding device made of a pliable rod. The pliable rod may include a cigar holder and a handle. The handle may include a U-shaped body and the cigar holder may include a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion and the second end portion may form mirroring arcs so that the cigar may be secured in between.

The present invention may include a device used to hold a cigar while smoking. In certain embodiments the present invention may be made from stainless spring steel and may be designed to hold the cigar under its own tension. The present invention may further include an insulated coating which may provide a thermal protection, an enhanced grip for a user's hand, and aesthetics. The cigar clip may be adjustable to hold any sized cigar by spreading or squeezing the pinchers. The present invention may eliminate the need to hold the cigar directly with a user's fingers.

The present invention is a cigar holding device 10. The cigar holding device 10 may include a handle 30 and a cigar holder 32. The cigar holding device 10 may be made of a pliable rod 12. In certain embodiments, the pliable rod 12 may be made of stainless spring steel. The pliable rod 12 may include a first end portion 14, a second end portion 16, and a body 22. The body 22 may be U-shaped. The first end portion 14 and the second end portion 16 form the cigar holder 32 and the U-shaped body 22 forms the handle 30. A sheath 24, such as a polymer sheath 24, may encompass the U-shaped body 22. The polymer sheath 24 may be polyvinyl chloride.

The first end portion 14 and the second end portion 16 may be formed to grasp a cigar 22. The first end portion 14 meets the U-shaped body 22 at a first bend 18 and the second end portion 16 meets the U-shaped body 22 at a second bend 20. In certain embodiments, the first end portion 14 may form a first arc and the second end portion 16 may form a second arc. The first arc and the second arc may mirror one another. The first arc and the second arc are rounded to conform to the cigar 28.

In certain embodiments, the pliable rod 12 may retain the shape in which the rod has been bent. For example, the cigar holding device 10 may include an open position and a closed position. The closed position may include squeezing the body 22 and thereby squeezing the first end portion 14 and the second end portion 16 together. A cigar 22 may be in between the first end portion 14 and the second end portion 16. Once the end portions 14, 16 have been squeezed snuggly against the cigar 28, the end portions 14, 16 may retain their position and thereby retain the cigar 28 in between. The open position may include the body 22 being pulled apart and thereby pulling apart the first end portion 14 and the second end portion 16. This may release the cigar 28 from the cigar holding device 10

A method of gripping a cigar may include the following. First a user may provide the cigar holding device mentioned above. The user may then place the cigar in between the first end and the second end. The user may then squeeze the U-shaped body and thereby squeezing the first end and the second end closer together. Therefore, the first end portion and the second end portion secure the cigar in between.

The stainless spring steel may hold the cigar. The PVC coating may make the present invention more comfortable to hold, aesthetically pleasing, and may provide thermal resistance. The present invention may be made by a CNC wire forming machine. The coating or sheath may be applied by dipping the clip into a heated vat of PVC. The PVC coating could be substituted for a different coating of the same effect. The present invention may be used by sliding the holder over the head of a cigar to hold the cigar while smoking.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
