Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Technical Field

The invention relates to rescue devices, particularly to surface water rescue devices for rescuing a patient who is afloat on the surface of a body of water.

2. Related Art

When a person is afloat on a water surface to be rescued, a sling with a rescue device is usually used to pull him or her up. However, the sling is fixed above the rescue device, so the rescue device tends to sway. Such sway is very dangerous and is easy to fling away the rescued person again.

When the rescue device is declined over the water surface, the rescue device is easy to be terribly shifted and the rescued person is hard to enter the rescue device.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of the invention is to provide a water rescue device, which can effectively reduce sway or shift over the water surface.

To accomplish the above object, the water rescue device includes a frame body having a loading seat; a hollow post erected on the loading seat; a plurality of connecting rods connected between the hollow post and the frame body; and a submerged weight disposed under the loading seat. One end of the sling passes through the hollow post to connect the submerged weight.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the invention;

FIG. 2 is a schematic view showing the invention is hung on a ship;

FIG. 3 is a side view of the invention in use; and

FIG. 4 is a side view of the invention with declining the submerged weight.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention provides a water rescue device for use on a water surface, such as sea or river, as shown in FIG. 2.

Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 3. The rescue device is used to connect to a sling 7 and includes a frame body 1, a hollow post 2, a plurality of connecting rods 3 and a submerged weight 5. The invention preferably includes a receiving member 4.

The frame body 1 is provided with a loading seat 101 and includes a bottom frame 10 and a side frame 11 erected on and around the bottom frame 10. The side frame 11 is of a C-shape with a notch, but not limited to this shape. A person can enter the frame body 1 through the notch. The frame body 1 is provided with floaters 13 and can float on a water surface. The side frame 11 has a horizontal rod 111 to which the floaters 13 are fixed.

The loading seat 101 is arranged in the bottom frame 10 and may be a soft mesh made of ropes or a rigid mesh made of metal wires. Furthermore, the loading seat 101 can be added with a plurality of supporting rods 102 (as shown in FIG. 1) connected between the bottom frame 10 and the hollow post 2 for reinforcement.

The hollow post 2 is erected on the loading seat 101 and connects with the supporting rods 102. The connecting rods 3 are connected between the frame body 1 and the hollow post 2. In the embodiment, the connecting rods 3 are connected between the side frame 11 and the hollow post 2. Their junctions are located at an upper end of the side frame 11 and an upper portion of the hollow post 2. Other locations are also available.

The submerged weight 5 is arranged under the loading seat 101. An end of the sling 7 passes through the hollow post 2 to connect the submerged weight 5. Please refer to FIGS. 2 and 4. The rescue device hung by a boom 81 can keep stable by the submerged weight 5. The submerged weight 5 may be a metal ball.

The receiving member 4 is disposed under the loading seat 101 and connects a bottom end of the hollow post 2 for receiving and holding the submerged weight 5. The receiving member 4 is of a flared shape. The submerged weight 5 can be simply received in the receiving member 4 when the submerged weight 5 is pulling up by the sling 7.

As shown in FIG. 2, when a ship 8 nears the person to be rescued, the rescue device is declined from the boom 81 to make the rescue device float on the water surface by the floaters 13. As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the sling 7 keeps releasing to make the submerged weight 5 leave the receiving member 4, so that the rescue device can be stabilized. After the rescued person sits on the loading seat 101, the sling 7 is furled to pull up the submerged weight 5 and the rescue device. Because a main portion of the sling 7 is received in the hollow post 2 and the hollow post 2 is fixed on the loading seat 101, the rescue device can keep stable even when it is in the air.

While the forgoing is directed to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, other and further embodiments of the invention may be devised without departing from the basic scope thereof. As such, the appropriate scope of the invention is to be determined according to the claims.
