CHAIR ASSEMBLY

A chair assembly has a seat set, two front multi-connectors, two rear multi-connectors, two front leg members and two rear leg members. The seat set has two transverse bars and two longitudinal bars. Each of the front and rear multi-connectors is mounted between adjacent transverse bar and longitudinal bar. The front leg members are mounted respectively on the front multi-connectors. The rear leg members are mounted respectively on the rear multi-connectors. The front multi-connectors and the rear multi-connectors connect the seat set, the front leg members and the rear leg members together without forming tenons and mortises on the front and rear leg members, which simplifies manufacturing process of the chair assembly.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a chair assembly, and more particularly to a chair assembly that is capable of being quickly assembled without forming tenons and mortises on members of the chair assembly.

2. Description of Related Art

A conventional chair has a seat, four legs, a backrest and two armrests being separate members and connected to one another instead of being formed integrally. During manufacture of the chair, adjacent members need to be sequentially assembled and connected together. Therefore, the chair assembled from the separate members is structurally weak and easily damaged, and assembling the chair is complicated and time-consuming.

Furthermore, during manufacture of the aforementioned chair, tenons and mortises are formed between members to be connected together by cutting machines in order to connect adjacent members together. However, cutting and forming tenons and mortises make the manufacture process lengthy and inefficient, which lowers production rate of the chair.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention provides a chair assembly to mitigate or obviate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the invention is to provide a chair assembly that is capable of being quick assembled without forming tenons and mortises on members of the chair assembly.

A chair assembly in accordance with the present application has a seat set, two front multi-connectors, two rear multi-connectors, two front leg members and two rear leg members. The seat set has two transverse frame bars and two longitudinal frame bars. Each of the front and rear multi-connectors is mounted between adjacent transverse frame bar and longitudinal frame bar. The front leg members are mounted respectively on the front multi-connectors. The rear leg members are mounted respectively on the rear multi-connectors. The front multi-connectors and the rear multi-connectors connect the seat set, the front leg members and the rear leg members together without forming tenons and mortises on the front and rear leg members, which simplifies manufacturing process of the chair assembly.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a chair assembly in accordance with the present application comprises a seat set 10, a pair of front multi-connectors 20, a pair of rear multi-connectors 20a, two front leg members 30, two rear leg members 40 and two assembling members 50.

With further reference to FIGS. 3 and 4, the seat set 10 has two opposite transverse frame bars 11 and two opposite longitudinal frame bars 12. The transverse frame bars 11 and the longitudinal frame bars 12 are arranged in a rectangle.

With further reference to FIGS. 5 and 6, each of the front multi-connectors 20 and the rear multi-connectors 20a is mounted between and connects adjacent transverse frame bar 11 and longitudinal frame bar 12, and is located at a corner of the rectangle. Each of the front multi-connectors 20 and the rear multi-connectors 20a has a longitudinal sleeve 21, a transverse sleeve 22 and a vertical sleeve 23.

With further reference to FIGS. 8 and 9, the longitudinal sleeve 21 has a longitudinal mounting hole 210 defined in the longitudinal sleeve 21 and mounted around one of the longitudinal frame bars 12.

The transverse sleeve 22 is mounted securely on the longitudinal sleeve 21 and has a transverse mounting hole 220 defined in the transverse sleeve 22 and mounted around one of the transverse frame bars 11.

The vertical sleeve 23 is mounted securely on the transverse sleeve 22 and has a vertical mounting hole 230 defined through the vertical sleeve 23.

Furthermore, the longitudinal mounting hole 210, the transverse mounting hole 220 and the vertical mounting hole 230 of each of the front multi-connectors 20 and the rear multi-connectors 20a may be oriented in different directions.

The front leg members 30 are mounted respectively on the front multi-connectors 20, and may be mounted respectively through the vertical mounting holes 230 of the vertical sleeves 23 of the front multi-connectors 20. Each front leg member 30 has a front leg bar 31 and a handlebar 32. The handlebar 32 is formed integrally on and protrudes upward from an end of the front leg bar 31.

The rear leg members 40 are mounted respectively on the rear multi-connectors 20a, and may be mounted respectively through the vertical mounting holes 230 of the vertical sleeves 23 of the rear multi-connectors 20a. Each rear leg member 40 has a rear leg bar 41 and a backrest sidebar 42. The backrest sidebar 42 is formed integrally on and protrudes upward from the rear leg bar 41 and may have multiple assembling holes 420 defined in an inside surface of the backrest sidebar 42. Furthermore, multiple supporting crossbars 60 may be mounted between the backrest sidebars 42 of the rear leg members 40 and correspond to the assembling holes 420 of each backrest sidebar 42. Each supporting crossbar 60 has two ends mounted respectively in two corresponding assembling holes 420 of the backrest sidebar 42.

With further reference to FIGS. 7 and 10, each assembling member 50 connects one of the handlebars 32 and one of the backrest sidebars 42 and has a first sleeve 51 and a second sleeve 52. The first sleeve 51 has a first mounting hole 510 defined through the first sleeve 51 and mounted around the handlebar 32 of one of the front leg members 30. The second sleeve 52 is mounted securely on the first sleeve 51 and has a second mounting hole 520 defined through the second sleeve 52 and mounted around one of the backrest sidebars 42. Furthermore, the first mounting hole 510 and the second mounting hole 520 of each assembling member 50 may be oriented in different directions.

In a preferred embodiment, each of the front multi-connectors 20 may be mounted on the seat set 10 and each of the front leg members 30, and each of the rear multi-connectors 20a may be mounted on the seat set 10 and each of the rear leg members 40 by fasteners 25 such as bolts or rivets. Each assembling member 50 may be mounted on each of the front leg members 30 and the rear leg members 40 by fasteners 55 such as bolts or rivets.

The chair assembly of the present application has the following advantages.

1. The front multi-connectors 20 and the rear multi-connectors 20a are able to connect the seat set 10, the front the leg members 30 and the rear leg members 40 together. Therefore, no tenons and mortises are required to be formed on the seat set 10, the front leg members 30 and the rear leg members 40, which simplifies manufacturing process of the chair assembly.

2. The front leg bar 31 and the handlebar 32 of each front leg member 30 are formed integrally into one piece, and the rear leg bar 41 and the backrest sidebar 42 are formed integrally into one piece. Therefore, the total number of components of the chair assembly is reduced to further simplify manufacturing process, and structural strength of the chair assembly is enhanced.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only. Changes may be made in the details, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims

1. A chair assembly comprising:

a seat set having two opposite transverse frame bars and two opposite longitudinal frame bars arranged in a rectangle;
a pair of front multi-connectors and a pair of rear multi-connectors, each of the front multi-connectors and the rear multi-connectors mounted between and connecting adjacent transverse frame bar and longitudinal frame bar;
two front leg members mounted respectively on the front multi-connectors, and each front leg member having a front leg bar; and a handlebar formed integrally on and protruding upward from an end of the front leg bar; and
two rear leg members mounted respectively on the rear multi-connectors, and each rear leg member having a rear leg bar; and a backrest sidebar formed integrally on and protruding upward from the rear leg bar.

2. The chair assembly as claimed in claim 1 further comprising two assembling members and each assembling member connecting one of the handlebars and one of the backrest sidebars.

3. The chair assembly as claimed in claim 2, wherein each of the front multi-connectors and the rear multi-connectors has

a longitudinal sleeve having a longitudinal mounting hole defined in the longitudinal sleeve and mounted around one of the longitudinal frame bars;
a transverse sleeve mounted securely on the longitudinal sleeve and having a transverse mounting hole defined in the transverse sleeve and mounted around one of the transverse frame bars; and
a vertical sleeve mounted securely on the transverse sleeve and having a vertical mounting hole defined through the vertical sleeve.

4. The chair assembly as claimed in claim 3, wherein the longitudinal mounting hole, the transverse mounting hole and the vertical mounting hole of each of the front multi-connectors and the rear multi-connectors are oriented in different directions.

5. The chair assembly as claimed in claim 4, wherein each assembling member has

a first sleeve having a first mounting hole defined through the first sleeve and mounted around the handlebar of one of the front leg members; and
a second sleeve mounted securely on the first sleeve and having a second mounting hole defined through the second sleeve and mounted around one of the backrest sidebars.

6. The chair assembly as claimed in claim 5, wherein the first mounting hole and the second mounting hole of each assembling member are oriented in different directions.

7. The chair assembly as claimed in claim 6, wherein

each backrest sidebar has multiple assembling holes defined in an inside surface of the backrest sidebar; and
multiple supporting crossbars are mounted between the backrest sidebars of the rear leg members and correspond to the assembling holes of each backrest sidebar, and each supporting crossbar has two ends mounted respectively in two corresponding assembling holes of the backrest sidebar.
