MOBILE PHONE CASE WITH BRACELET ATTACHMENT

A bracelet and a phone case are provided. The bracelet is sized to fit around a user's wrist. The bracelet includes a first end and a second end. The first end includes a first connector and the second end includes a second connector. The phone case includes an inner surface sized to receive and retain a phone within. The phone case may further include an outer surface having at least a first loop and a second loop. The first connector and the second connector are releasably attachable to one another to form the bracelet. Further, the first connector is releasably attachable to the first loop and the second connector is releasably attachable to the second loop forming a handle for the phone case.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of priority of U.S. provisional application No. 61/929,320, filed Jan. 20, 2014, the contents of which are herein incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to mobile phone cases and, more particularly, to a mobile phone case with a bracelet attachment.

Occasionally, users will wear clothing without pockets. A user may still want to have their phone on their person without the burden of carrying a purse. A phone case is used to cover a mobile phone in order to protect the phone from breaking from blunt force. However, current phone cases do not add to the portability of the phone.

As can be seen, there is a need for a phone case securable to a user's wrist.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, an apparatus comprises: a phone case comprising an inner surface sized to receive and retain a phone within, and an outer surface comprising at least a first loop and a second loop; and a bracelet sized to fit around a user's wrist and comprising a first end comprising a first connector and a second end comprising a second connector, wherein the first connector and the second connector are releasably attachable to one another, and the first connector is releasably attachable to the first loop and the second connector is releasably attachable to the second loop.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

The present invention includes a custom made detachable/interchangeable beaded and jeweled bracelets for protective mobile device cases made out of metal, plastic, rubber, and silicone for Apple®, Samsung®, Motorola®, Nokia®, HTC®, LG®, and Android® phones. The present invention may be manufactured in a variety of styles and colors and can be attached or detached from the protective device cover in a quick fashion. The bracelet may also be worn by itself as a fashion accessory.

The present invention may replace the permanent fixed handles on protective mobile device cases with a beaded or jeweled detachable/interchangeable bracelet which can be used as a purse handle or worn as a bracelet. The bracelets are made as a fashion accessory to match the style of the protective case and other apparel. The interchangeable bracelets allow the consumer to attach a different style or colored bracelet depending on what they are wearing that day.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, the present invention includes a bracelet 10 and a phone case 18. The bracelet 10 is sized to fit around a user's wrist. The bracelet 10 includes a first end and a second end. The first end includes a first connector 14 and the second end includes a second connector 14. The phone case 18 includes an inner surface sized to receive and retain a phone within. The phone case 18 may further include an outer surface having at least a first loop 24 and a second loop 24. The first connector 14 and the second connector 14 are releasably attachable to one another to form the bracelet 10. Further, the first connector 14 is releasably attachable to the first loop 24 and the second connector 14 is releasably attachable to the second loop 24 forming a handle for the phone case 18.

The first connector 14 and the second connector 14 may be any connector including but not limited to, a spring biased clip, a clasp, a hook, a tie, a snap connector, and the like. The first and second loop 14 may be include a first end connected to the outer surface of the phone case 18 and a second end connected to the outer surface of the phone case 18, forming the loop 14 in between. The first and second loop 14 may be attached to the same side of the phone case 18, as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 4. Further, the first and second loop 14 may be an eyelet or other similar loop.

The bracelet 10 of the present invention may include a line 16 or wire, with a plurality of beads 12 or jewels strung on the line 16. Each of the beads 12 and jewels may include openings therethrough for the line 16 to fit within. The beads 12 and jewels may be interchangeable to change styles. The bracelet 10 may further include an interlocked chain.

A method of using the present invention may include the following. The bracelet 10 mentioned above may be provided. The first connector 14 may be connected with the first loop 24 and the second connector 14 may be connected to the second loop 24. A user 22 may slide the bracelet over their wrist, thereby securing the phone case and phone to the user's wrist 22. The method may further include detaching the first connector 14 from the first loop 24 and detaching the second connector 14 from the second loop 24. The first connector 14 may connect with the second connector 14 forming the stylish bracelet.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a phone case comprising an inner surface sized to receive and retain a phone within, and an outer surface comprising at least a first loop and a second loop; and
a bracelet sized to fit around a user's wrist and comprising a first end comprising a first connector and a second end comprising a second connector,
wherein the first connector and the second connector are releasably attachable to one another, and the first connector is releasably attachable to the first loop and the second connector is releasably attachable to the second loop.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the first connector and the second connector each comprise a spring biased clip.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the bracelet comprises a line and a plurality of beads strung on the line.

4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the bracelet comprises a chain.

5. A method of carrying a mobile phone comprising:

providing a bracelet having a first end and a second end, wherein the first end comprises a first connector and the second end comprising a second connector;
connecting the first connector to a first loop formed on an outer surface of a phone case;
connecting the second connector to a second loop formed on the outer surface of the phone case; and
placing the bracelet around a wrist, and thereby supporting the phone case on the wrist.

6. The method of claim 5, further comprising the steps of:

detaching the first connector from the first loop;
detaching the second connector from the second loop;
connecting the first connector to the second connector forming the bracelet.
