Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to air conditioning drains and more particularly, to a drainage device with a low-noise radiator fan for air-conditioning equipment.

2. Description of the Related Art

Taiwan patent M4023962 discloses a motor cover used in a drainage device for cooling or air-conditioning equipment. During rotation of the motor, hot air is induced to flow upwards into the airflow area. At this time, the induced flow of hot air flows upwardly through the fan blades of the radiator fan and multiple air vents toward the atmosphere.

According to this prior art design, the space blow the fan blades of the radiator fan is an open space through which the induced flow of hot air flows directly over the fan blades to generate wind shear turbulence, causing a high level of noise.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a drainage device with a low-noise radiator fan for air-conditioning equipment, which has a ring cap covered on the bottom side of multiple fan blades to force hot air to flow through an air passage hole thereof into the inside of the radiator fan, thereby preventing wind shear disturbance and enabling the intake flow of hot air to be further guided by the fan blades to the atmosphere to significantly reduce the level of air exhaust noise.

To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, a drainage device with a low-noise radiator fan for air-conditioning equipment comprises a housing, which comprises a bottom shell and a cover shell that has a plurality of vent holes spaced around the periphery thereof, a motor mounted in said cover shell of the housing and having a driving shaft, a radiator fan, which is mounted in the cover shell above the motor, comprising a plate member located at a top side thereof, a plurality of fan blades circumferential bowed and equiangularly arranged at a bottom side of the plate member around the border area thereof and a ring cap covering the fan blades at a bottom side opposite to the plate member and comprising an air passage hole at the center thereof, a drainage shell mounted in the bottom shell with a concave thereof facing upward, a drainage blade mounted in the drainage shell, and the driving shaft mounted in the housing and axially inserted through the center of the radiator fan and the center of the motor and the center of the drainage blade and connected therewith for synchronous rotation.

Thus, the invention uses the ring cap to cover the bottom side of the fan blades, presenting hot air from directly upwardly flowing through the fan blades to generate wind shear turbulence. Thus, hot air is forced to flow through the air passage hole of the ring cap into the inside of the radiator fan, and the intake flow of hot air is then guided by the fan blades to the vent holes toward the atmosphere, reducing the level of air exhaust noise.

Other advantages and features of the present invention will be fully understood by reference to the following specification in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference signs denote like components of structure.

FIG. 3 is an exploded view of the housing, motor, radiator fan, drainage shell, drainage blade and driving shaft of the drainage device with a low-noise radiator fan for air-conditioning equipment in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 4 is an oblique top elevational view of the radiator fan of the drainage device with a low-noise radiator fan for air-conditioning equipment in accordance with the present invention, illustrating the positioning of the ring cap in the radiator fan.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1-4, a drainage device with a low-noise radiator fan for air-conditioning equipment in accordance with the present invention is shown. As illustrated, the drainage device 10 comprises a housing 11, a motor 21, a radiator fan 31, a drainage shell 41, and a drainage blade 51.

The housing 11 comprises a bottom shell 12 and a cover shell 14. The cover shell 14 has a plurality of vent holes 16, as shown in FIG. 1. The motor 21 is mounted in the cover shell 14 inside the housing 11, as shown in FIG. 2. The motor 21 has a driving shaft 61.

The motor 21 is mounted in the cover shell 14 inside the housing 11, as shown in FIG. 2. The motor 21 has a driving shaft 61.

The radiator fan 31 comprises a plurality of fan blades 32 circumferential bowed and equiangularly arranged around the periphery thereof, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. Further, the radiator fan 31 is mounted in the cover shell 14 inside the housing 11, and disposed above the motor 21. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 4, the radiator fan 31 comprises a plate member 34 located at a top side thereof, a plurality of fan blades 32 circumferential bowed and equiangularly arranged at a bottom side of the plate member 34 around the border area thereof, a ring cap 36 covering the fan blades 32 at a bottom side opposite to the plate member 34 and having an air passage hole 38 at the center thereof, and a flange 39 extending around the outer perimeter of the ring cap 36. The border edge of the cross section of the inner perimeter of said air passage hole 38 is circularly arched, as shown in FIG. 4. Further, the diameter of the air passage hole 38 is smaller than the diameter of the space surrounded by the fan blades 32.

The drainage shell 41 is mounted in the bottom shell 12 with the concave thereof facing upward, as shown in FIG. 2.

The drainage blade 51 is mounted in the drainage shell 41, as shown in FIG. 2.

The driving shaft 61 is mounted in the housing 11, as shown in FIG. 2, and axially inserted through the center of the radiator fan 31, the center of the motor 21 and the drainage blade 51 for synchronous rotation.

After understanding the structural details of the drain device, the operation of the drain device is outlined hereinafter.

Referring to FIG. 2 again, when discharging air, the motor 21 is controlled to rotate the radiator fan 31. At this time, the ring cap 36 of the radiator fan 31 stops hot air from directly upwardly flowing through the fan blades 32 of the radiator fan 31 to generate wind shear disturbance. Referring also to FIG. 4, hot air is forced to flow through the air passage hole 38 of the ring cap 36 into the inside of the radiator fan 31 to prevent wind shear disturbance, as illustrated in FIG. 2, and the intake flow of hot air is then guided by the fan blades 32 to the vent holes 16 toward the atmosphere, reducing the level of air exhaust noise.

As stated above, the invention achieves the effect of overcoming the problem of high air exhaust noise of the prior art design. The invention uses the ring cap 36 to cover the bottom side of the fan blades 32, forcing hot air to flow through the air passage hole 38 of the ring cap 36 into the inside of the radiator fan 31 to prevent generation of wind shear disturbance, enabling the intake flow of hot air to be further guided by the fan blades 32 to the vent holes 16 toward the atmosphere, and thus, the invention significantly reduce the level of air exhaust noise.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
