Portable Bathing Assembly

A portable bathing assembly for bathing an infant at a selected height and a selected location includes a base that may be positioned on a support surface. A wheel is operationally coupled to the base. The wheel abuts the support surface so the wheel supports the base above the support surface. A leg is coupled to the base. The leg has an adjustable height. A saddle is selectively positionable on the leg. The saddle is supported above the base at a selected height. A tub is selectively positionable in the saddle so the saddle supports the tub. The tub may contain an infant so the infant may be bathed.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

1. Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to portable bathing devices and more particularly pertains to a new portable bathing device for bathing an infant at a selected height and a selected location.

2. SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a base that may be positioned on a support surface. A wheel is operationally coupled to the base. The wheel abuts the support surface so the wheel supports the base above the support surface. A leg is coupled to the base. The leg has an adjustable height. A saddle is selectively positionable on the leg. The saddle is supported above the base at a selected height. A tub is selectively positionable in the saddle so the saddle supports the tub. The tub may contain an infant so the infant may be bathed.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new portable bathing device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the portable bathing assembly 10 generally comprises a base 12 that may be positioned on a support surface 14. The support surface 14 may be a floor. Additionally, the base 12 comprises a closed loop. Moreover, the base 12 has an ovoid shape that may have a length between 45 cm and 60 cm and a width between 30 cm and 40 cm.

A wheel 16 is rotatably coupled to a bottom side 18 of the base 12. The wheel 16 abuts the support surface 14 so the wheel 16 supports the base 12 above the support surface 14. A lock 20 is coupled to the wheel 16. The lock 20 selectively prevents the wheel 16 from rolling. Additionally, the wheel 16 is one of a plurality of the wheels 22. Each of the plurality of wheels 22 is positioned proximate an associated one of four curved portions 24 of the base 12.

A leg 26 is provided. A pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26 extends downwardly from an associated one of a first end 30 and a second end 32 of a lateral portion 34 of the leg 26. Moreover, the leg 26 defines a U-shape. The lateral portion 34 of the leg 26 may have a length between 25 cm and 35 cm.

A pair of bends 36 is each positioned on an associated one of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26. The pair of bends 36 are positioned proximate a bottom end 38 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26. Additionally, a bottom section 40 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26 forms an obtuse inside angle with respect to a top section 42 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26. The bottom section 40 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26 may have a length between 15 cm and 20 cm. Lastly, the top section 42 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26 may have a length between 30 cm and 40 cm.

The bottom end 38 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the leg 26 is coupled to a top side 46 of an associated one of a first lateral portion 48 and a second lateral portion 50 of the base 12. The leg 26 straddles the base 12 such that the lateral portion 34 of the leg 26 is spaced upwardly from the base 12. Continuing, the leg 26 is one of a pair of the legs 52. The bottom section 40 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of each of the pair of legs 52 is positioned proximate an associated one of a front curved portion 54 and a rear curved portion 56 of the base 12. Additionally, the bottom sections 40 of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of each of the pair of legs 52 is positioned above an associated one of each of the plurality of wheels 22.

The pair of vertical portions 28 of a front one of the pair of legs 58 each intersects with an associated one of the pair of vertical portions 28 of a rear one of the pair of legs 60. Moreover, the front 58 and rear legs 60 has an X-shaped cross section taken along a lateral axis extending through the first lateral portion 48 and the second lateral portion 50 of the base 12. A circular turnstile 62 is movably coupled to the pair of the legs 52. The circular turnstile 62 is positioned at an intersection of each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the pair of legs 52. Lastly, the circular turnstile 62 may have a diameter between 12 cm and 18 cm.

A retaining aperture 64 extends through a front side 66 and a back side 68 of the circular turnstile 62. The retaining aperture 64 is positioned proximate an outside edge 70 of the circular turnstile 62. Moreover, the retaining aperture 64 is one of a plurality of retaining apertures 72. The plurality of retaining apertures 72 is evenly distributed around an entire circumference of the circular turnstile 62. A pin 74 extends through a center 76 of the circular turnstile 62 and engages each of the pair of vertical portions 28 of the pair of legs 52.

The circular turnstile 62 is one of a pair of the circular turnstiles 78. Each of the pair of circular turnstiles 78 is positioned on an intersection of an associated one of a first pair of the vertical portions 80 of the pair of legs 52 and a second pair of the vertical portions 82 of the pair of legs 52. The pair of circular turnstiles 78 frictionally retains each of the first 80 and second 82 pairs of vertical portions of the pair of legs 52 at a selected angle with respect to each other. Each of the lateral portions 34 of each of the pair of legs 52 is retained at a selected distance from the base 12.

A saddle 84 is provided. An outside edge 86 of a bottom side 88 of the saddle 84 is curved. The saddle 84 has an ovoid cross section taken along a longitudinal axis extending through a top surface 90 and a bottom surface 92 of the bottom side 88 of the saddle 84. Further, the saddle 84 may have a length between 35 cm and 50 cm and a width between 20 cm and 30 cm.

An outer wall 94 of the saddle 84 is coupled to and extends upwardly from the top surface 90 of the bottom side 88 of the saddle 84. The outer wall 94 of the saddle 84 is coextensive with the outside edge 86 of the bottom side 88 of the saddle 84. Further, the outer wall 94 of the saddle 84 is positioned inwardly from the outside edge 86 of the bottom side 88 of the saddle 84. A rear portion 96 of the outer wall 94 of the saddle 84 has a height that is greater than a height of a front portion 98 of the outer wall 94 of the saddle 84. The saddle 84 is positionable on each of the pair of lateral portions 34 of the pair of the legs 60. Finally, the bottom surface 92 of the bottom side 88 of the saddle 84 abuts the pair of lateral portions 34 of the pair of legs 52.

A tub 11 is provided. An outside edge 13 of a bottom side 15 of the tub 11 is curved so the tub 11 has an ovoid cross section taken along a longitudinal axis extending through a top surface 17 and a bottom surface 19 of the bottom side 15 of the tub 11. The tub 11 may have a length between 45 cm and 60 cm and a width between 30 cm and 40 cm. An outer wall 21 of the tub 11 is coupled to and extends upwardly from the top surface 17 of the bottom side 15 of the tub 11.

A rear portion 23 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11 has a height that is greater than a height of a front portion 25 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11. The outer wall 21 of the tub 11 is coextensive with the outside edge 13 of the bottom side 15 of the tub 11. Moreover, the tub 11 may contain an infant so the infant may be bathed. Lastly, the tub 11 may have a fluid capacity between 7 L and 15 L.

A pad 27 is coupled to the top surface 17 of the bottom side 15 of the tub 11. Further, a rear 29 of the pad 27 extends upwardly along an inside surface 31 of the rear portion 23 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11. The pad 27 may be comprised of a resiliently compressible material such as foam rubber or other similar material. The tub 11 is removably positionable within the saddle 84 so the bottom side 15 of the tub 11 abuts the bottom side 88 of the saddle 84. An outer surface 33 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11 abuts an inside surface 35 of the outer wall 94 of the saddle 84.

A storage portion 37 of the tub 11 extends forwardly from a front side 39 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11. Continuing, a bottom side 41 of the storage portion 37 of the tub 11 is positioned proximate a middle 43 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11. An outer wall 45 of the storage portion 37 of the tub 11 extends upwardly from the bottom side 41 of the storage portion 37 of the tub 11. Further, a top edge 47 of the outer wall 45 of the storage portion 37 of the tub 11 is coextensive with a top edge 49 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11. The storage portion 37 of the tub 11 extends between a first lateral side 51 and a second lateral side 53 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11.

A rear handle opening 55 extends through the rear portion 23 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11 proximate the top edge 49 of the outer wall 21 of the tub 11. Further, a front handle opening 57 extends through the outer wall 45 of the storage portion 37 of the tub 11 proximate the top edge 47 of the outer wall 45 of the storage portion 37 of the tub 11. Each of the front 57 and rear 55 handle openings may be gripped.

A pair of bracket apertures 59 extends downwardly into a top edge 61 of the outer wall 94 of the saddle 84. Each of the pair of bracket apertures 59 is positioned on an associated one of a first lateral side 63 and a second lateral side 65 of the outer wall 94 of the saddle 84. A U-shaped bracket 67 is provided. Further, a bottom end 69 of each of a pair of vertical arms 71 of the U-shaped bracket 67 engages an associated one of the pair of bracket apertures 59. A lateral arm 73 of the U-shaped bracket 67 is spaced upwardly from the tub 11. Lastly, a plurality of toys 75 are suspended from the lateral arm 73 of the U-shaped bracket 67.

A drain aperture 77 extends through the bottom side 15 of the tub 11. The drain aperture 77 is positioned proximate the storage portion 37 of the tub 11. A plug 79 is removably positionable within the drain aperture 77. The plug 79 retains a fluid in the tub. Lastly, the fluid may be water.

In use, the tub 11 is filled with the fluid. Continuing, the tub 11 is positioned within the saddle 84. The pair of legs 52 is adjusted in each of the pair of circular turnstiles 78 so the saddle 84 is positioned at a selected height with respect to the base 12. Additionally, the infant is positioned within the tub 11 so the infant may be bathed. The tub 11 may be utilized without being positioned within the saddle 84.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A portable bathing assembly for bathing an infant at a selected height and a selected location, said assembly comprising:

a base configured to be positioned on a support surface;
a wheel operationally coupled to said base, said wheel abutting the support surface wherein said wheel supports said base above the support surface;
a leg coupled to said base, said leg having an adjustable height;
a saddle selectively positionable on said leg wherein said saddle is supported above said base at a selected height; and
a tub selectively positionable in said saddle wherein said saddle supports said tub, said tub being configured to contain the infant wherein the infant is bathed.

2. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising said base comprising a closed loop wherein said base has an ovoid shape.

3. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising said wheel being rotatably coupled to a bottom side of said base.

4. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising said wheel being one of a plurality of said wheels.

5. The assembly according to claim 4 further comprising each of said plurality of wheels being positioned proximate an associated one of four curved portions of said base.

6. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising:

said leg comprising a pair of vertical portions of said leg extending downwardly from an associated one of a first end and a second end of a lateral portion of said leg wherein said leg defines a U-shape; and
a pair of bends each positioned on an associated one of each of a pair of vertical portions of said leg proximate a bottom end of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg.

7. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising:

wherein a bottom section of each of a pair of vertical portions of said leg forms an obtuse inside angle with respect to a top section of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg; and
a bottom end of each of pair of vertical portions of said leg being coupled to a top side of an associated one of a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion of said base wherein said leg straddles said base such that a lateral portion of said leg is spaced upwardly from said base.

8. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising:

said leg being one of a pair of said legs wherein a bottom section of each of a pair of vertical portions of each of said pair of legs is positioned proximate an associated one of a front curved portion and a rear curved portion of said base; and
said pair of vertical portions of a front one of said pair of legs each intersecting an associated one of said pair of vertical portions of a rear one of said pair of legs wherein said front and rear legs has an X-shaped cross section taken along a lateral axis extending through a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion of said base.

9. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising:

a circular turnstile movably coupled to a pair of said legs wherein said circular turnstile is positioned at an intersection of each of a pair of vertical portions of said pair of legs;
said circular turnstile being one of a pair of said circular turnstiles each positioned on an intersection of an associated one of a first pair of said vertical portions of said pair of legs and a second pair of said vertical portions of said pair of legs; and
said pair of circular turnstiles retaining each of said first and second pairs of vertical portions of each of said pair of legs at a selected angle with respect to each other wherein each of a lateral portion of said pair of legs is retained at a selected distance from said base.

10. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising an outside edge of a bottom side of said saddle being curved wherein said saddle has an ovoid cross section taken along a longitudinal axis extending through a top surface and a bottom surface of said bottom side of said saddle.

11. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising an outer wall of said saddle coupled to and extending upwardly from a top surface of a bottom side of said saddle wherein said outer wall of said saddle is coextensive with an outside edge of said bottom side of said saddle.

12. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising said saddle being positionable on each of a pair of lateral portions of a pair of said legs wherein a bottom surface of a bottom side of said saddle abuts said pair of lateral portions of said pair of legs.

13. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising an outside edge of a bottom side of said tub being curved wherein said tub has an ovoid cross section taken along a longitudinal axis extending through a top surface and a bottom surface of said bottom side of said tub.

14. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising an outer wall of said tub coupled to and extending upwardly from a top surface of a bottom side of said tub wherein said outer wall of said tub is coextensive with an outside edge of said bottom side of said tub.

15. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising:

a storage portion of said tub extending forwardly from a front side of an outer wall of said tub;
a bottom side of said storage portion of said tub being positioned proximate a middle of said outer wall of said tub; and
an outer wall of said storage portion of said tub extending upwardly from said bottom side of said storage portion of said tub wherein a top edge of said outer wall of said storage portion of said tub is coextensive with a top edge of said outer wall of said tub.

16. The assembly according to claim 1 further comprising said tub being removably positionable within said saddle wherein a bottom side of said tub abuts a bottom side of said saddle wherein an outer surface of an outer wall of said tub abuts an inside surface of an outer wall of said saddle.

17. A portable bathing assembly for bathing an infant at a selected height and a selected location, said assembly comprising:

a base configured to be positioned on a support surface, said base comprising a closed loop wherein said base has an ovoid shape;
a wheel rotatably coupled to a bottom side of said base, said wheel abutting the support surface wherein said wheel supports said base above the support surface, said wheel being one of a plurality of said wheels;
each of said plurality of wheels being positioned proximate an associated one of four curved portions of said base;
a leg comprising a pair of vertical portions of said leg extending downwardly from an associated one of a first end and a second end of a lateral portion of said leg wherein said leg defines a U-shape;
a pair of bends each positioned on an associated one of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg proximate a bottom end of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg wherein a bottom section of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg forms an obtuse inside angle with respect to a top section of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg;
a bottom end of each of said pair of vertical portions of said leg being coupled to a top side of an associated one of a first lateral portion and a second lateral portion of said base wherein said leg straddles said base such that said lateral portion of said leg is spaced upwardly from said base;
said leg being one of a pair of said legs wherein said bottom section of each of said pair of vertical portions of each of said pair of legs is positioned proximate an associated one of a front curved portion and a rear curved portion of said base;
said pair of vertical portions of a front one of said pair of legs each intersecting an associated one of said pair of vertical portions of a rear one of said pair of legs wherein said front and rear legs has an X-shaped cross section taken along a lateral axis extending through said first lateral portion and said second lateral portion of said base;
a circular turnstile movably coupled to said pair of said legs wherein said circular turnstile is positioned at an intersection of each of said pair of vertical portions of said pair of legs;
said circular turnstile being one of a pair of said circular turnstiles each positioned on an intersection of an associated one of a first pair of said vertical portions of said pair of legs and a second pair of said vertical portions of said pair of legs, said pair of circular turnstiles retaining each of said first and second pairs of vertical portions of said pair of legs at a selected angle with respect to each other wherein each of said lateral portions of each of said pair of legs is retained at a selected distance from said base;
a saddle comprising an outside edge of a bottom side of said saddle being curved wherein said saddle has an ovoid cross section taken along a longitudinal axis extending through a top surface and a bottom surface of said bottom side of said saddle, an outer wall of said saddle coupled to and extending upwardly from said top surface of said bottom side of said saddle wherein said outer wall of said saddle is coextensive with said outside edge of said bottom side of said saddle, said saddle being positionable on each of said pair of lateral portions of said pair of said legs wherein said bottom surface of said bottom side of said saddle abuts said pair of lateral portions of said pair of legs;
a tub comprising an outside edge of a bottom side of said tub being curved wherein said tub has an ovoid cross section taken along a longitudinal axis extending through a top surface and a bottom surface of said bottom side of said tub, an outer wall of said tub coupled to and extending upwardly from said top surface of said bottom side of said tub wherein said outer wall of said tub is coextensive with said outside edge of said bottom side of said tub wherein said tub is configured to contain the infant wherein the infant is bathed, said tub being removably positionable within said saddle wherein said bottom side of said tub abuts said bottom side of said saddle wherein an outer surface of said outer wall of said tub abuts an inside surface of said outer wall of said saddle; and
a storage portion of said tub extending forwardly from a front side of said outer wall of said tub, a bottom side of said storage portion of said tub being positioned proximate a middle of said outer wall of said tub, an outer wall of said storage portion of said tub extending upwardly from said bottom side of said storage portion of said tub wherein a top edge of said outer wall of said storage portion of said tub is coextensive with a top edge of said outer wall of said tub.
