Abstract

A garment retention assembly for preventing a user from easily removing the garment includes a garment that is worn by a user. A fastener has a first end and a second end. The fastener is elongated. The fastener is coupled to the garment. The fastener extends beyond an entire width of the garment. The fastener is wrapped around the user and overlaps itself. The user is prevented from easily removing the garment.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to garment devices and more particularly pertains to a new garment device for preventing a user from easily removing the garment.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a garment that is worn by a user. A fastener has a first end and a second end. The fastener is elongated. The fastener is coupled to the garment. The fastener extends beyond an entire width of the garment. The fastener is wrapped around the user and overlaps itself. The user is prevented from easily removing the garment.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new garment device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the garment retention assembly 10 generally comprises a garment 12 that has a front end 14 and a back end 16. The garment 12 is elongated between the front 14 and back 16 ends. The garment 12 is worn on a user's genital area 18 so the front end 14 of the garment 12 is positioned on a front side 20 of the user's waist 21 and the back end 16 of the garment 12 is positioned on a back side 22 of the user's waist 21. The garment 12 may be a diaper of any conventional design. Moreover, the user 24 may be an infant or a toddler.

A fastener 26 is provided. The fastener 26 has a first end 28 and a second end 30. The fastener 26 is elongated between the first 28 and second 30 ends. Additionally, the fastener 26 is positioned proximate to and is coextensive with the back end 16 of the garment 12. Each of the first 28 and second 30 ends of the fastener 26 extends beyond an associated one of a first lateral edge 32 and a second lateral edge 34 of the garment 12.

An adhesive layer 36 is coupled to a front surface 38 of the fastener 26. The adhesive layer 36 completely covers the front surface 38 of the fastener 26. The adhesive layer 36 engages an outside surface 40 of the garment 12 so the fastener 26 is retained on the garment 12. Moreover, the fastener 26 may comprise Duct Tape of any conventional design. The fastener 26 is wrapped around the user's waist 21 after the garment 12 is positioned on the user 24. Each of the first 28 and second 30 ends of the fastener 26 are overlapped on the back side 22 of the user's waist 21.

The fastener 26 has a perforation 32 extending between a top edge 35 and a bottom edge 37 of the fastener 26. The perforation 32 is one of a pair of the perforations 38 each positioned proximate an associated one of the first 28 and second 30 ends of the fastener 26. Each of the pair of perforations 39 is positioned proximate an associated one of the first 32 and second 34 lateral edges of the garment 12 after the fastener 26 is wrapped around the garment 12. The fastener 26 is torn along each of the pair of perforations 39 after the garment 12 is worn by the user 24 so the garment 12 is removable from the user 24.

In use, a method 40 of retaining the garment 12 on the user 24 so the garment 12 is not easily removable by the user 24 includes a step 42 of providing the garment 12 and the fastener 26 that has the first 28 and second 38 ends and the pair of perforations 39. The method 40 further includes a step 44 of positioning the garment 12 on the user 24. Additionally, the method 40 includes a step 46 of wrapping the fastener 26 around the user's waist 21 so the first 28 and second 30 ends of the fastener 26 overlap on the back side 22 of the user's waist 21. The user 24 cannot easily remove the garment 12. Finally, the method 40 includes a step 48 of tearing the fastener 26 along each of the pair of perforations 39 so the garment 12 is removable from the user 24.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. An garment retention assembly for preventing a user from easily removing said garment, said assembly comprising:

said garment being worn by a user; and

a fastener having a first end and a second end, said fastener being elongated, said fastener being coupled to said garment such that said fastener extends beyond an entire width of said garment; and

said fastener being wrapped around the user and overlapping itself such that the user is prevented from easily removing said garment.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said garment having a front end and a back end, said garment being elongated.

3. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said garment being worn on the user's genital area such that a front end of said garment is positioned on a front side of the user's waist and a back end of said garment is positioned on a back side of the user's waist.

4. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising an adhesive layer coupled to a front surface of said fastener such that said adhesive layer completely covers said front surface of said fastener.

5. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising an adhesive layer engaging an outside surface of said garment such that said fastener is retained on said garment.

6. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said fastener being positioned proximate to and being coextensive with a back end of said garment such that each of a first end and a second end of said fastener extends beyond an associated one of a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge of said garment.

7. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said fastener being wrapped around the user's waist after said garment is positioned on the user such that each of a first end and a second end of said fastener are overlapped.

8. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said fastener having a perforation extending between a top edge and a bottom edge of said fastener.

9. The assembly according to claim 8, further comprising said perforation being one of a pair of said perforations each positioned proximate an associated one of a first end and a second end of said fastner.

10. The assembly according to claim 1, further comprising said fastener being torn along each of a pair of perforations after said garment is worn by the user such that said garment is removable from the user.

11. An garment retention assembly for preventing a user from easily removing said garment, said assembly comprising:

said garment having a front end and a back end, said garment being elongated, said garment being worn on the user's genital area such that a front end of said garment is positioned on a front side of the user's waist and a back end of said garment is positioned on a back side of the user's waist;

a fastener having a first end and a second end, said fastener being elongated, said fastener being positioned proximate to and being coextensive with said back end of said garment such that each of said first and second ends of said fastener extends beyond an associated one of a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge of said garment;

an adhesive layer coupled to a front surface of said fastener such that said adhesive layer completely covers said front surface of said fastener, said adhesive layer engaging an outside surface of said garment such that said fastener is retained on said garment;

said fastener being wrapped around the user's waist after said garment is positioned on the user such that each of said first and second ends of said fastener are overlapped;

said fastener having a perforation extending between a top edge and a bottom edge of said fastener; and

said perforation being one of a pair of said perforations each positioned proximate an associated one of said first and second ends of said fastener, said fastener being torn along each of said pair of perforations after said garment is worn by the user such that said garment is removable from the user.

12. A method of retaining a garment on a user such that said garment is not easily removable by the user, the steps of the method comprising:

a step of providing said garment and said fastener having said first and second ends and said pair of perforations;

a step of positioning said garment on the user;

a step of wrapping said fastener around the user's waist having said first and second ends of said fastener overlap such that the user cannot easily remove said garment; and

a step of tearing said fastener along each of said perforations such that said garment is removable from the user.
