Sporting Helmet Backpack, Lunchbox and Travel Luggage

Abstract

The present invention provides a backpack/bag in different shapes/designs. It provides a backpack, lunchbox for children, travelling luggage which comprises back in the shape of different sporting helmets or masks such as hockey mask, football helmet, baseball helmet etc. which makes the present invention unique and novel. The present invention can also be formed as lunchbox, luggage etc. The backpack under the present invention not only provides for storage but it also has provision for having indicia and logos printed on the backpack to enhance branding and lifestyle.

Description

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates generally to the fields of bags/backpacks/luggage carriers.

More particularly, the invention also relates to backpack having shape of different sporting helmets.

The present invention can be used to carry objects related to backpacks, books, food, tools, personal items, sports items or any such other item as desired by the user.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A backpack is used by people of almost every age to carry things easily and more comfortably. Backpacks differ in shape and size as does luggage and lunchboxes. The trend of carrying things like sports materials, books, food etc. has grown widely and the pertaining backpack size depends upon the user and materials to be carried.

The development of backpacks has generally focused on enabling individuals to use the product functionally, carry items more easily, reduce effort and protect bodies of those carrying loads heavier than 10% of their body weight. However, contemporary backpacks are not merely utility containers to carry objects. They are also accessory apparel articles.

Therefore, in addition to usefulness, backpacks have become symbols of branding and lifestyle. Coordination of colors and team affiliations have become important to those who carry backpacks and use luggage and lunchboxes. Hence, backpacks, luggage and lunchboxes are a fashion accoutrement that may be selected and worn for the purpose of satisfying needs beyond function or simply to replace briefcases and book bags. They backpack can be worn to serve as an identifiable link to a particular group, share a belief, attitude or desire.

Students at college or university may desire to have backpacks that exhibit a logo or other indicia of an institution or group which they are affiliated. A backpack is particularly suited to this purpose because when used it is exposed to the view of others.

There exists a need for a backpack that is adapted to the hockey industry where logos and other indicia can be affixed on the backpack indicating affiliation with different hockey teams, associations and organizations.

Considerable inventive skill has been applied to the design and material making the backpack light, promotional capable and attractive for the younger generation; the backpack is not only useful for youths but it can also be used by people of differing ages also because of its lightweight and easy to use characteristic. The backpack is compatible with all types of goods. It also comprises of provision for including design and personal customized stickers, prints on the backpack, lunchbox and luggage.

Reference may be made to U.S. Pat. No. 8,678,258, by Knight, et al. which relates to ‘Backpack back support frame’. This invention relates to a vertically and horizontally flexible backpack support frame having a Y-shaped configuration and fitting reversibly into a pocket on a backpack. The support frame is curved horizontally and vertically to conform to the shape of a back of a user. The frame has a raised Y-shaped corrugation for increased strength. A shoulder strap bar attaches reversibly across a longitudinal central opening in the support frame so that the shoulder strap bar is adjustable vertically and horizontally when the support frame is in the backpack. The backpack straps and belt attach reversibly and pivotably to the support frame when the support frame is in the pocket of the backpack.

Further reference may be made to U.S. Pat. No. 8,678,253, titled ‘Ergonomic backpack’ dated Dec. 3, 2014. Under this invention a backpack is provided giving ergonomic support for the back and neck of the wearer. The backpack provides continuous, fully ergonomic cushioning support to provide optimal comfort to the wearer.

Another reference may be made to U.S. Pat. No. 8,678,019, titled ‘Umbrella engaged with a back pack’ by Christie. This invention relates to a backpack with an anchoring device. The anchoring device, allows an umbrella to be attached to the backpack. The umbrella has a collapsible canopy and can be stored in a storage unit on the backpack.

Reference may also be made to U.S. Pat. No. 8,651,353 titled ‘Gym locker organizer backpack’. This invention relates to a utility bag having shoulder straps which allows the bag to be used as a backpack to carry clothing, shoes, wet items, personal grooming items, etc. to a gym. At the gym the utility hag can be hung up on one or more of the locker hooks and, when the front panel of the utility bag is opened, all items in the utility bag can be easily accessed without removing the bag from the locker. The bag has a number of separate internally located compartments where each compartment can have a see thru mesh front panel which allows a user to see the contents of the compartment and allows air to circulate. The bag has pockets which are accessible from the outside of the bag which allow a user to quickly access a desired item such as a cell phone, wallet, etc. without opening the utility bag.

Reference may also be made to U.S. Pat. No. 8,657,169 titled ‘Backpack’. This invention relates to a backpack including a pack portion having a top, a bottom, a front, a rear and two sides. A strap arrangement can also be included for carrying the pack portion as a backpack. The strap arrangement can have a pair of carrying straps. Each carrying strap can be secured to the pack portion at about the bottom and extend upwardly along respective sides of the pack portion, and redirected at about the top of said respective sides to extend around to the rear of the pack portion, and being redirected at about the top of the rear to extend downwardly for securement at about the bottom of the pack portion at the rear. The strap arrangement can redirect forces to support a load in the pack portion from the sides of the pack portion.

However, the backpacks as mentioned in the prior art does not comprise of features as present in the present invention: The backpacks mentioned above are either. too specific or very restricted to carrying specific products. Some of the backpacks are heavy and so are not comfortable to carry by the user. Therefore there is a need for more light weight, strong and compatible to carry any type of product backpack.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Thus, it is an object of the present invention to provide a bag, Sporting Helmet Backpack, Lunchbox and Travel Luggage.

Further, it is another object of the present invention to provide a lightweight and easy to carry backpack comprising of designs of different sports helmets.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a backpack which is capable of bearing design, stickers of different sports team as per the user requirement.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a backpack which can be used for multiple purposes either for sports, apparels, food, books etc. which may also comprises of a LED lighting on it for the purpose of security of the user.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE ILLUSTRATED EMBODIMENTS

NOTE: The following is the preferred embodiment or best mode for carrying out the invention. It should be noted that this invention is not limited only to the preferred embodiments discussed here. There are various alternates/modifications/improved or different versions of the product, which are within the ambit of present invention only. The following specification and embodiments are for the purposes of illustration Only and therefore should not be construed to limit the scope of the invention.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the enclosed drawings. The terms bag/backpack/luggage are used interchangeably in this specification.

In one embodiment, the sporting helmet backpack, lunchbox and travel luggage can be manufactured of polyester materials, cloth materials etc.

The backpack of the present invention can be manufactured in any sporting helmets designs with light weight and easy to carry. The invention is designed and manufactured in such a way that it is attractive for the young sports enthusiast or other persons interested in sports.

The present invention comprises a provision for adapting logos and other indicia which can be affixed on the backpack indicating affiliation with different sports teams, associations and organizations. The user can also affix customized stickers on the backpack.

The backpack may be emblazoned with advertising messages, team logos, can be sold as promotional items at events, can be coated with reflective luminescent, phosphorescent or safety materials, coordinated with particular marketing program or advertising campaign in the field of hockey. The unique design and the ability to place advertising on backpack is very unique and allows the user to place/affix its personal advertising or messages or logos. The backpack may also comprise of LED lighting as security feature, the LED lighting provides a good look and also works for security reasons as the backpack is visible when a vehicles headlights shine on the bag when the user is on dark streets or road.

The backpack of the present invention can be comprised of any shape and size; it can further comprise of any shape of any sports helmets.

The backpack can be carried in hand, on back or even can be dragged on wheels; the comfortable features are imbedded in the backpack.

The embodiments described herein are examples of structures, systems or methods having elements corresponding to the elements of the invention recited in the claims. This written description may enable those skilled in the art to make and use embodiments having alternative elements that likewise correspond to the elements of the invention recited in the claims.

The intended scope of the invention thus includes other structures, systems or methods that do not differ from the literal language of the claims, and further includes other structures, systems or methods with insubstantial differences from the literal language of the claims.

The backpack comprises of designs of sports helmets, the invention may comprise any design of sports helmet and it is not restricted to any specific sports. The front portion of the backpack will comprise of the front portion of any sport helmets.

The backpack of the present invention can be used by any person interested in sports or not, the unique design of the backpack allows the user to select his/her own choice of helmet designed backpack.

The user of the backpack can carry it on back, carry in hand or can even drag it as per his/her requirements. The backpack is not restricted only to use by youngsters, it can be used by any age person. There will be some Velcro at the top and center to allow some flexibility and keep the bag upright or prevent it from drooping down. Also, an extra padding on the shoulders for the kids' protection is provided.

The backpack comprises of provision for personal messages, team messages, logos, advertising etc. the user can customize the front portion of the backpack with his/her choice of messages, advertisement, logos, stickers of different sporting teams etc.

The backpack is capable of accommodating any type of articles be it sports materials, food, books, apparels etc.

FIG. 9 illustrates the multiple ways the backpack can be used by the user; it further shows the comfortable use of the invention by the user and the design of the backpack relating to the design of sports helmet.

Due to all the unique features of this invention, there would be a glow on the bag when in dark. This shall act as a dual safety feature, as it will help in locating the bag while in dark, at the same time it will help a user safely cross a road while carrying this bag in dark.

The decorations on the bag, for example any mask, are interchangeable. Preferably a zipper will be added to have the masks on the backpack interchangeable.

The material used to construct/manufacture the bag is 600-Denier fabric, which shall impart the bag a good strength. The plastic used is ABS, i.e. Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) which is a common thermoplastic. ABS is a terpolymer made by polymerizing styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of polybutadiene.

Further, the bag/backpack comprises provisions for a lunch bag cooler added to lunch box, backpack and luggage.

Accordingly, the present invention provides a flexible, moldable and decorable bag with various in-built accessories and security features, said bag being able to carry, store and transport goods safely, said bag is manufactured in various shapes and forms as per the requirements of the user, said bag having at least one interior layer, at least one exterior layer, with spacing in the inner side of interior layer to carry, store and transport goods, wherein said external layer is decorable, writable and editable so as to put advertisements, logos or any other design or decorative material on it, wherein the inner space of said bag comprises one or plurality of compartments, wherein the external layer of said bag also comprises means to carry or hold or drag the bag easily when in use, the external layer also comprises means to close the bag safely when carrying or storing or transporting goods, wherein said security features provide additional safety benefits for the users when said bag is in use.

In an embodiment, said means to carry or hold the bag include at least a strap or a handle or wheels or any other such provision as defined herein.

In another embodiment, said means to close the bag includes zipper or buttons or stitching provisions or any other such provision as defined herein.

In yet another embodiment, said security features preferably comprises LED lighting to improve visibility inside for the users and on outside for others when in dark or in vicinity of any vehicle.

In yet another embodiment, said bag can be located even in dark due to unique security features added.

In another embodiment, said decorations on the bag are removable and/or reusable and said means to fix decorations on the bag may be including but not limited to a zipper, reusable adhesives, buttons, threads or any other such provision as defined herein.

In yet another embodiment, said bag is made up of a material having good fabric strength preferably above 500 Denier along with a lightweight texture.

In yet another embodiment, said bag preferably comprises provisions for a lunch bag cooler added to lunch box, backpack and luggage.

In another embodiment, said bag optionally includes one or plurality of pockets on the external side of the bag.

In another embodiment, said bag optionally includes extra shoulder padding for the kids to carry it easily and safely.

In another embodiment, said bag can be in any shape, including but not limited to a backpack, a lunchbox, a sporting helmet, travelling case etc.

In another embodiment, said bag comprises provisions for including but not limited to advertisements, messages, logos and stickers of sports teams etc.

In another embodiment, said bag is capable of accommodating materials including but not limited to sport materials, books, apparel and food etc.

In another embodiment, said bag is carried on back, held in hand or pulled as per user's requirement.

In another embodiment, said bag is lightweight in nature and is easy to carry by any user.

In another embodiment, said bag having means to carry with good support material and lightweight in nature provides ergonomic support for the back and neck of the user even after carrying it for longer duration continuously.

In another embodiment, said bag is used as lunch box, backpack, travel case and any other application as per the requirement and design.

Claims

1. A flexible, moldable and decorable bag with various in-built accessories and security features, said bag being able to carry, store and transport goods safely, said bag is manufactured in various shapes and forms as per the requirements of the user, said bag having at least one interior layer, at least one exterior layer, with spacing in the inner side of interior layer to carry, store and transport goods, wherein said external layer is decorable, writable and editable so as to put advertisements, logos or any other design or decorative material fixed on it by means, wherein the inner space of said bag comprises one or plurality of compartments, wherein the external layer of said bag also comprises means to carry or hold or drag the bag easily when in use, the external layer also comprises means to close the bag safely when carrying or storing or transporting goods, wherein said security features provide additional safety benefits for the users when said bag is in use.

2. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said means to carry or hold the bag include at least a strap or a handle or wheels or any other such provision as defined herein.

3. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said means to close the bag includes zipper or buttons or stitching provisions or any other such provision as defined herein.

4. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said security features preferably comprises LED lighting to improve visibility inside for the users and on outside for others when in dark or in vicinity of any vehicle.

5. The bag as claimed in claim 4, wherein said bag can be located even in dark due to unique security features added.

6. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said decorations on the bag are removable and/or reusable and said means to fix decorations on the bag may be including but not limited to a zipper, reusable adhesives, buttons, threads or any other such provision as defined herein.

11. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bag can be in any shape, including but not limited to a backpack, a lunchbox, a sporting helmet, travelling case etc.

12. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bag comprises provisions for including but riot limited to advertisements, messages, logos and stickers of sports teams etc.

13. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bag is capable of accommodating materials including but not limited to sport materials, books, apparel and food etc.

14. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bag is carried on back, held in hand or dragged as per user's requirement.

15. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bag is lightweight in nature and is easy to carry by any user.

16. The bag as claimed in claim 1, wherein said bag having means to carry with good support material and lightweight in nature provides ergonomic support for the back and neck of the user even after carrying it for longer duration continuously.

17. The bag as claimed in claim 1, as and when used as lunch box, backpack, travel case and any other application as per the requirement and design.
