CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Patent Application Ser. No. 61/704,070, which is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.

TECHNICAL FIELD

This disclosure relates to implementations of a portable bed cover dispenser.

BACKGROUND

Disposable bed covers may be used to protect a mattress, bed linens, mattress pads, etc., for a variety of purposes. Unfortunately, a clean bed cover is not always readily available and must be found or otherwise acquired. Currently, there does not exist a portable bed cover dispenser for dispensing bed covers that may be easily secured to a bed to provide easy access to disposable bed covers when desired.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1A illustrates an example bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure.

FIG. 1B illustrates a side-view of an example bed cover dispenser resting on a bed frame according to the present disclosure.

FIGS. 2-4 illustrate a method of using a bed cover dispenser manufactured in accordance with the present disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Implementations of a portable bed cover dispenser that can be used in conjunction with a bed frame and can dispense customizable-sized bed covers are provided. In some implementations, a bed cover can be sized based on the size (e.g., width) of the bed.

Implementations of a bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure may comprise a resting piece to rest on part of a bed frame. In some implementations, the resting piece can rest on a portion of the bed frame extending the length of the bed on one side of the bed. In some implementations, the resting piece can rest on a portion of a bed frame on which an edge of a mattress rests. In some implementations, the frame and the mattress may secure the bed cover disperser without any additional attachment mechanisms. In some implementations, attachment mechanisms may be used to secure the bed cover dispenser to the bed frame.

Implementations of a bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure further may comprise a bed cover holder to hold a continuous roll of material that comprises the bed cover. In some implementations, the continuous roll of material comprises a material wrapped around a roll. In some implementations, the material may comprise a soft, absorbent material. In some implementation, the material may comprise a transparent material. In some implementations, the material may be water/leak-proof. In some implementations, the material may be disposable, recyclable, and/or eco-friendly. In some implementations, the material can be retracted back onto the roll once dispensed from the roll. In some implementations, the . material may be elastic.

In some implementations, a bed cover dispenser according to the present disclosure further may comprise a cutter to cut the continuous roll of material after the bed cover material has been dispensed and is ready to be disposed of. In some implementations, the cutter may include a slider with a sharp edge that can move from one end of the bed cover dispenser to the other end to cut the roll of material.

FIGS. 1A and 1B illustrate an example bed cover dispenser 100 according to the present disclosure. In some implementations, the bed cover dispenser 100 comprises a resting piece 105 to rest on part of a bed frame 150 and a bed cover holder 110 configured to hold a continuous roll of material 115 that comprises the bed cover. This disclosure is not limited to any particular bed cover holder 110.

In some implementations, the resting piece 105 rest on a portion of the bed frame 150 extending the length of the bed on one side of the bed. In some implementations, as shown in FIG. 1B, the resting piece 105 rest on a portion of a bed frame 150 on which an edge of a mattress 160 rests. In some implementations, the frame 150 and the mattress 160 may secure the bed cover disperser 100 without any additional attachment mechanisms. In some implementations, attachment mechanisms may be used to secure the bed cover dispenser 100 to the bed. One of ordinary skill in the art with the benefit of this disclosure would know what attachment mechanisms (e.g., screws, bolts, or any other attachment means known or future developed) to use to secure the bed cover dispenser 100 to a bed.

In some implementations, the continuous roll of material 115 comprises a material 115a wrapped around a roll 115b. In some implementations, the material 115a may comprise a soft, absorbent material. In some implementation, the material 115a may comprise a transparent material. In some implementations, the material 115a may be water/leak-proof. In some implementations, the material 115a may be disposable, recyclable, and/or eco-friendly. In some implementations, the material 115a may be elastic.

In some implementation, the bed cover holder 110 and the continuous roll of material 115 are configured such that the material 115a can retract back onto the roll 115b once the material 115a is dispensed from the roll 115b. In some implementations, the continuous roll of material is detachable from the bed cover holder 110.

In some implementations, the bed cover dispenser 100 further comprises a cutter (not shown) to cut the roll of material 115 after the bed cover material 115 has been dispensed and ready to be disposed. In some implementations, the cutter may include a slider with a sharp edge that can moves from one end of the bed cover dispenser 100 to the other end to cut the roll of material 115.

FIGS. 2-4 illustrate a method of using the bed cover dispenser 110 to cover a portion of a bed (e.g., a mattress or sheets) with the bed cover material 115. As shown in FIGS. 2-3, one end of the material 115a is pulled from the roll 115b (FIG. 2) and over the bed to cover a portion of the bed (see FIG. 3). In some implementations, as shown in FIG. 4, the end of the material 115a can be tucked under a mattress on the other side of the bed from where the bed cover dispenser 100 is installed to secure the end of the material. Once the bed cover material 115a has been used, it may be detached from the bed cover roll 115a using a cutter to cut the used material from the roll.

In some implementations, a portion of the material 115a dispensed from the roll (e.g., an unsoiled portion) may be retracted back on the roll before cutting the material.

The bed cover dispenser 100 of the present disclosure can be made of wood, plastic, metal, or any other material or any combination of the foregoing. In some implementations, the bed cover dispenser 100 is lightweight and portable.
