Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Technical Field

The invention relates to containers, particularly to wine bottles.

2. Related Art

Usually, alcoholic drinks are held in glass containers. Most of wine (such as red wine and white wine) drinkers do not drink up a whole bottle of wine. Instead, they prefer to have a few drinks. The remaining wine must be recapped for future drink. However, such a recapping action can form a sealing effect, but the bottle is still filled with air. A long contact between air and wine will cause deterioration and metamorphism of wine. However, remaining wine in a normal wine bottle cannot keep vacuum. The less the wine in a bottle remains, the more air occupies, it is more disadvantageous to wine storage.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of the invention is to provide a bottle with an adjustable bottom, whose bottom can be moved depending upon the volume of remaining wine so that air in the bottle can be reduced as low as possible and deterioration or metamorphism of wine may be avoided.

To accomplish the above object, the bottle of the invention includes a body, a ball bung and a bottom assembly. The body is of a cylindrical shape and has a mouth and a bottom end. The bottom end is open and provided with an inner thread. The ball bung is used for sealing the mouth. The bottom assembly includes a base, a post and a piston. The post is axially connected on the base. An outer thread is formed on a cylindroid thereof for screwing with the inner thread. The piston is axially connected atop the cylinder and fits snugly into the body to form a gastight status.

FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the invention;

FIG. 4 is a sectional schematic view of the invention after adjustment; and

FIG. 5 is a schematic view of the invention in a pouring status.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Please refer to FIGS. 1 and 2. The adjustable bottle of the invention is composed of a body 1, a ball bung 3 and a bottom assembly 2. The body 1 is a of a substantially cylindrical shape with a circular section. The top of the body 1 is a mouth 11. The bottom end 12 of the body 1 is open without sealing. In this embodiment, the bottom end 12 of the body 1 is provided with a ring 13. The ring 13 has an outer wall 131, an inner wall 132 and an annular gap 133 therebetween. A width of the gap 133 is slightly less than a thickness of wall of the body 1 so that the gap 133 can be inserted by the bottom end 12 and the ring 13 can tightly nips the body 1 on the bottom end 12. Additionally, the inner wall 132 of the ring 13 is inward formed with an inner thread 134.

The bottom assembly 2 includes a post 21. An outer diameter of the post 21 is less than an inner diameter of the body 1. A cylindroid of the post 2 is formed with an outer thread 211 corresponding to the inner thread 134. Thus the post 2 can enter the body 1 by screwing the outer thread 211 and the inner thread 134. Furthermore, by rotation of the post 2 against the body 1, the post 21 can form a linear movement in the body 1. The bottom of the post 21 axially connects a base 22 with a disk shape. The base 22 is greater than the post 21 in diameter. Preferably, a diameter of the base 22 is substantially equal to an outer diameter of the bottom end 12 of the body 1 for increasing stability and appearance.

The top of the post 21 is axially connected with a piston 23. In this embodiment, the piston 23 is fixed to the post 21 by a bolt 24. A periphery of the piston 23 is provided with two O-rings 231 for forming a gastight status. Of course, the O-ring 231 may be one or three in number.

In this embodiment, the ball bung 3 is a ball received in the body 1 and made of a soft material. A density of the ball bung 3 is set to be slightly less than wine so that the ball bung 3 can float on wine and most of volume of the ball bung 3 is under the wine level. Furthermore, a diameter of the ball bung 3 is greater than an inner diameter of the mouth 11.

Please refer to FIG. 3. When the wine in the body 1 has been decreased in volume, the wine level descends and the ball bung 3 floats on the wine level. At this time, the mouth 11 is open to allow air to flow. When a user wants to sealing the mouth 11, he or she rotates the bottom assembly 2 against the body 1 to elevate the piston 23. When the wine level uprises to near the mouth, the ball bung 3 is uprised to fill a lower end of the mouth tightly as shown in FIG. 4. At this time, the ball bung 3 is slightly deformed by pressure to form a gastight status. As a result, air in the body 1 can be ejected to be a minimum to effectively reduce the contact between wine and air.

Please refer to FIG. 5. When the wine level has not been elevated yet, the ball bung 3a can freely drift. At this time, the wine in the body 1 can be easily poured out and the ball bung 3 does not preclude the wine from flowing.

It will be appreciated by persons skilled in the art that the above embodiment has been described by way of example only and not in any limitative sense, and that various alterations and modifications are possible without departure from the scope of the invention as defined by the appended claims.
