Description
BACKGROUND

The embodiments herein relate generally to apparel, and more particularly, to a removable cloth sleeve.

Removable sleeves may be used in many applications, such as welding, driving a car, and playing golf. Conventional removable sleeves stay in place for a period of time, but then become loose and sag down the wearer's arm. Often times, conventional sleeves are made from an elastic or Spandex material and, after a while, the sleeves get stretched out. As a result, the sleeves do not stay securely in place.

Therefore, what is needed is a removable sleeve configured to stay in place on a user's arm without sagging or coming loose.

SUMMARY

Some embodiments of the present disclosure include a removable and adjustable sleeve for securely attaching to and protecting a user's arm. The removable and adjustable sleeve may include a sleeve having a first end proximal to a user's wrist and a second end distal to the user's wrist, an adjustment strap attached to the second end of the sleeve and configured to secure the sleeve to the user's arm and to keep the sleeve from sagging down the user's arm by at least partially encircling the user's arm, and a cuff positioned at the first end of the sleeve, the cuff configured to keep the first end of the sleeve from covering a user's hand. The adjustment strap may include a hook portion configured to engage with a loop portion of a hook and loop fastener to secure the sleeve onto the user's arm.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF CERTAIN EMBODIMENTS

In the following detailed description of the invention, numerous details, examples, and embodiments of the invention are described. However, it will be clear and apparent to one skilled in the art that the invention is not limited to the embodiments set forth and that the invention can be adapted for any of several applications.

The device of the present disclosure may be used as an adjustable and removable sleeve and may comprise the following elements. This list of possible constituent elements is intended to be exemplary only, and it is not intended that this list be used to limit the device of the present application to just these elements. Persons having ordinary skill in the art relevant to the present disclosure may understand there to be equivalent elements that may be substituted within the present disclosure without changing the essential function or operation of the device.

1. Sleeve 2. Hook and Loop Fastener

The various elements of the adjustable and removable sleeve for being secured to a user's arm of the present disclosure may be related in the following exemplary fashion. It is not intended to limit the scope or nature of the relationships between the various elements and the following examples are presented as illustrative examples only.

By way of example, and referring to FIGS. 1-3, some embodiments of the removable and adjustable sleeve 10 of the present disclosure comprise a sleeve 12 with a first end proximal to a user's wrist and a second end distal from the user's wrist, wherein the second end has an adjustment strap 16 attached thereto, the adjustment strap 16 configured to secure the second end of the sleeve 12 to a user's arm by at least partially encircling the user's arm. In some embodiments, the adjustment strap 16 is adjustably wrapped around the user's arm and may completely encircle the user's arm. In embodiments, the adjustment strap 16 may comprise a hook and loop fastener 18, 20, such as Velcro, enabling a user to tighten the adjustment strap 16 to any desired tightness, ensuring that the sleeve 10 does not sag down the user's arm.

The adjustment strap 16 may have any desired width. In embodiments, the adjustment strap 16 may be permanently attached to the second end of the sleeve 12 and may encircle the entire outer circumference of the second end of the sleeve 12, wherein the adjustment strap 16 may have a free end that is not attached to the second end of the sleeve 12, as shown in FIGS. 1-3. For example, in some embodiments, the adjustment strap 16 may comprise a length of a hook portion 20 of a hook and loop fastener attached to the second end of the sleeve 12 such that the loop portion 20 is facing away from the user's arm. The free end portion of the adjustment strap 16 may comprise a hook portion 18 that is configured to engage with the loop portion 20, such that the adjustment strap 16, when in use, is wrapped around a user's arm to secure the sleeve 12 in place. Alternatively, the hook portion 18 and the loop portion 20 may be reversed, such that the hook portion 18 is attached to the second end of the sleeve 12. As a result of using a hook and loop fastener instead of a different fastener, such as a pull-string cord, the adjustment strap 16 may not loosen over time and, thus, may prevent the sleeve 12 from sagging down the user's arm. In contrast, a pull-string cord is capable of loosening over time, resulting in the sleeve sagging down the user's arm.

Some embodiments of the removable and adjustable sleeve 10 further comprise a cuff 14 positioned at the first end of the sleeve 12. For example, the cuff 14 may be an elastic cuff. The cuff 14 may help prevent the first end of the sleeve 12 from extending over the hands of a user, particularly when the sleeve 12 is longer than the user's arm.

Embodiments of the sleeve 12 may be made of any suitable material and, in some embodiments, the sleeve 12 is made of a cloth, such as cotton.

To use the removable and adjustable sleeve 10 of the present disclosure, a user would pull the sleeve 12 over an arm with the second end being pulled up toward the shoulder of the user and the first end being positioned proximate to the user's hand and wrist. The user would then use the adjustment strap 16 to tighten and secure the first end of the sleeve 12 to the upper arm by securing the hook portion 18 to the loop portion 20 of the adjustable strap 16. To remove the adjustable sleeve 10, a user would simple detach the hook portion 18 from the loop portion 20 and pull the sleeve 12 off of the arm.

Persons of ordinary skill in the art may appreciate that numerous design configurations may be possible to enjoy the functional benefits of the inventive systems. Thus, given the wide variety of configurations and arrangements of embodiments of the present invention the scope of the invention is reflected by the breadth of the claims below rather than narrowed by the embodiments described above.
