Golf Bag Ring
A device for attaching a removable snap ring to a golf bag whereby various articles may be attached to the ring for ease of access, such as but not limited to golf towels, small tote bags, club brushes, eye case and other such items.
The present invention is a unit of construction that comprises a ring, a predetermined length of material, and a snap. The said material is threaded through said ring, and both ends of the material secured together with said snap. The perceived usage of this invention is to provide additional rings that will snap to the golf bag, utilizing the male snap studs that are manufactured on the golf bag. These studs are primarily used for the bag cover that comes with said bag when purchased. As a rule the golf bag cover is only used when traveling, various weather conditions, and storage. Therefore, during the periods of time that the said studs are not in use as previously described, they are available for use via the present invention for any abilities that a person can imagine but not limited to golf towels and small tote bags for snacks, Tee's, and various personal items. A person can attach the afore mentioned items to the present invention in any manner of choice.
In general, the invention has been outlined rather broadly, so the more important detailed descriptions that follow may be better understood. Numerous features and advantages of the present invention will be readily apparent to those individuals after reading the following detailed description of the invention, when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. The present invention is capable of other applications and of being utilized and carried out in various ways. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of descriptions and should not be regarded as limiting.
For a better understanding of the present invention, its operating advantages and its uses, reference should be made to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter of the invention.
The accompanying drawings, which are included to provide further understanding of the invention and are incorporated in and constitute a part of this specification, illustrate preferred embodiments of the invention and together with the description serve to explain the principles of the invention, in which:
1 Gypsy Stud
2 Snap Socket
3 Webbing
4 Ring
5 Curved top edge
6 Bottom fold edge
7 Side A
8 Side B
DETAILED DESCRIPTIONNotation 6 is the bottom fold of the webbing (notation 3) which is 1.5 inches from notation 5 top edge of the product (i.e. the webbing notation 3 is folded in half).
Notation 3 is nylon webbing with a 1 inch width and 0.045 inch thickness and a 1100 pound tensile strength such as webbing from tnwebbing.com part number AA55301.
The GBR product uses a length of this style of webbing 3 inches long. Colors of webbing may vary.
Notation 1 is a black Gypsy stud style snap which allows for another snap socket to be placed over the top of the Gypsy stud. This is an intentional design to allow the golfer to have the GBR product in place on his golf bag making use of one of the existing snap studs that are common features of manufactured golf bags (i.e. the snap studs mounted near the top ring in which to affix a golf bag rain cover), while allowing a rain cover to be attached to the GBR product. The Gypsy stud is a self-punching style snap like dotfasteners.com part number 93XB103421C.
Notation 8 is the entry point of the Gypsy stud (notation 1) at the side-to-side center between side A (notation 7) and side B (notation 8) and ½ of inch down from the apex of curved top edge (notation 5).
Notation 4 is a solid nickel plated ring with an inside diameter of 1.25 inches and outside diameter of 1.79 inches and ring thickness of 0.2253 inch and rests loose inside the folded over webbing (notation 3) on the bottom fold edge (notation 6).
Gypsy stud (notation 1) and snap socket (notation 2) are attached using standard snap assembly type techniques and tools.
