Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a faux fireplace that includes a battery-operated feature.

2. Description of Related Art

A fireplace provides a structure that is typically used to burn logs in an indoor environment. The typical fireplace has a flue that allows smoke to escape created by the fire that contained within a center opening (firebox) of the fireplace. Due to the heavy maintenance and manual labor associated with a conventional fireplace some individuals use electrically powered or gas-powered fireplaces to create an image of a fire and in some cases a heat source associated with a fire image. Artificial or faux fireplaces may be electrically powered and in some cases gas-powered to create the full heat-exchange effect. Some faux fireplaces are portable and allow the user to place the fireplace in multiple locations in some cases outdoors. Other portable fireplaces are exclusively available for indoor use.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a portable fireplace comprising: a back cover; a battery receptacle, where access to the battery receptacle is provided on the back cover; and a power switch. The battery receptacle provides a mechanism to power the portable fireplace with DC power as opposed to using an AC electrical cord.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts a back view of an electric fireplace equipped with a battery adapter to supply DC power.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a portable fireplace that is electrically powered. The present invention includes electrical power that may be supplied by either a battery pack or through an electrical connection. The present invention has a battery adapter implemented within a rear section of the portable fireplace. This battery receptacle receives batteries to create a fire image associated with the portable fireplace.

In reference to FIG. 1, a portable fireplace 100 is depicted. FIG. 1 focuses on a rear view of the fireplace 100. This rear view includes a back cover 37 and a battery receptacle 35. The battery receptacle 35 receives batteries to power the fireplace. Further a power switch 30 enables the user to activate the fireplace to create a fire image 20 on the opposite side of the fireplace 100. The portable fireplace 100 in accordance with the present invention enables the use of an electrical fireplace without the need for a power connection. The battery receptacle enables the user to use a battery power pack that may be activated by the power switch 30. During use this portable fireplace displays a fire image and its sufficient power supply radiates heat from the fireplace.
