Description
BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

1. Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to cover devices and more particularly pertains to a new cover device for covering luggage to provide protection and facilitate identification of ownership of the luggage.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a cover having a bottom panel and a perimeter wall defining an interior space configured for receiving a luggage bag therein. A top edge of the perimeter wall defining an opening into the interior space. A plurality of slots extends through the cover for extending wheels through the slots allowing the wheels rotate on a support surface while the luggage bag is positioned in the interior space. A slit extends through the cover proximate the opening for receiving a handle of the luggage bag therethrough when the luggage bag is positioned in the interior space.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.

There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a top front side perspective view of a luggage cover device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a top back side perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a top view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 5 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure in use.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new cover device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the luggage cover device 10 generally comprises a cover 12 having a bottom panel 14 and a perimeter wall 16 coupled to and extending upwardly from the bottom panel 14. The cover 12 defines an interior space 18 configured for receiving a luggage bag 20 therein. A top edge 22 of the perimeter wall 16 defines an opening 24 into the interior space 18. The perimeter wall 16 extends integrally from a perimeter edge 26 of the bottom panel 14. The cover 12 is constructed of a resilient stretchable material wherein the cover 12 is configured to conform to a shape of the luggage bag 20.

Each of a plurality of slots 28 extends through the cover 12 wherein the cover 12 is configured for extending around wheels 30 of the luggage bag 20 extending through the slots 28 allowing the wheels 30 to contact a support surface 32 and rotate while the luggage bag 20 is positioned in the interior space 18. A slit 34 extends through the cover 12 proximate the opening 24 wherein the slit 34 is configured for receiving a handle 36 of the luggage bag 20 extending through the slit 34 when the luggage bag 20 is positioned in the interior space 18.

A drawstring 38 is coupled to the cover 12. The drawstring 38 extends around the top edge 22 of the perimeter wall 16. The drawstring 38 tightens the opening 24 wherein the drawstring 38 is configured to secure the cover 12 on the luggage bag 20. Each of a pair of clips 40 is coupled to the drawstring 38 proximate an associated end 42 of the drawstring 38. The clips 40 secure the drawstring 38 in a tightened position.

In use, the cover 12 is positioned over the luggage bag 20 by inserting the luggage bag 20 through the opening 24. The cover 12 is adjusted such that the slots 28 align with and allow the wheels 30 of the luggage bag 20 to extend out of the cover 12. The handle 36 of the luggage bag 20 is extended through the slit 34 allowing the handle 36 to be grasped and used to move the luggage bag 20 in a conventional manner. The cover 12 is secured to the luggage bag 20 by tightening of the drawstring 38 which is held in place by positioning of the clips 40 in a desired position on the drawstring 38. The cover 12 may incorporate a distinctive appearance, pattern, logo, or general appearance to facilitate identifying ownership of the luggage bag.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded.

A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
