Description

This application claims priority to Provisional application No. 62/017,960 filed Jun. 27, 2014.

The present invention pertains to a heated hot roller set for use at home that allows for the volumization of hair using a round brush roller set to enable the user to have a round brush blow-dry look with minimal time and effort.

BACKGROUND

The only hot rollers on the market today only curl hair and do not give lift at the root for volume. The roller sizes available now are too small to give the hair volume like a blow-dry. The biggest roller sizes on the market are 1.5 inches and fail to volumize hair. The present invention will enable the user to have a round brush blow-dry look with minimal time and effort.

Another term for parts of hygiene and cosmetology involving the hair on the human head is called Hair Care. Hair care will vary according to the individual's hair type . Hair care includes men's and women's facial, pubic, and other body hair, which may be colored, trimmed, shaved, plucked, or other otherwise removed with treatments such as waxing, sugaring, and threading. These services are offered in salons, barbershops, and day spas, and there are hair care products that are available commercially for home use.

Hair Care also includes treatment given to hair. It includes heavy conditioners for the rescue of severely damaged hair, hot oil treatments, scalp refreshers that relieve irritations caused by the hardness of hair relaxers, hair bleach etc. It also includes washing of hair which removes excess heat and oil, as well as unwanted products from the hair and scalp.

Hairstyling equipment which helps in creating hairstyles include blow dryer, butterfly clips, comb, hair roller, hairpin, hairbrush, etc. Hair products or the cosmetic products used in creating and maintaining hairstyles include hair coloring, hair conditioner, hair gel, hair spray, hair tonic, etc.

Among all the Personal Care and Cosmetics market, the hair care industry is highly competitive and dynamic. Companies in this industry operate hair salons and barbershops that provide shampoo, haircuts, beard trimming and hair coloring services. The present invention may be used to compliment each of the above mentioned products and services for use in the Personal Care Cosmetics Market.

While the invention is amenable to various modifications and alternate forms, specific embodiments have been shown by way of example in the drawings and will be described in detail, it should be understood that the intention is not to limit the invention to the particular embodiments described. The intention is to cover all modifications, equivalents and alternatives falling within the spirit and the scope of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

An embodiment of the present invention is depicted with respect to FIGS. 1-6. A round brush hot roller set is used to style women's hair in a manner that a professional hair stylist would create. It is a heated roller set that mimics the action of a round brush blow- dry, as it would in a salon. The set gives the ‘home-stylist’ the professional salon like ‘the round brush blow-dry’ look and volume. Larger volume rollers 20 (2-4″) provide smooth and volumized hair, without curling a detachable handle 30 provides for ease, comfort and storage of the rollers 20.

Heated rollers 20a,b,c (FIG. 2&3) that are the actual size of round brushes and also have a detachable handle 30. Handle 30 locks into center 31 of roller 20c for easy application. The center 31 may have a diameter of approximately ½″. A release switch 34 is on the handle 30 for a smooth transition of removing handle 30 from roller 20. The switch 34 is depressed to provide one of a compression fit, a screw fit, a rotating lock fit, a flexible ball socket, a snap-fit and a finger engagement.

FIG. 1 depicts a roller 20 is being placed back into the heating base 10. The heating base includes heating elements for each roller as are well known in the art. Each heating element includes a mounting platform for each roller to both hold the roller in place within the heating base and to provide the transfer of heat from the heating base to each roller 20. FIG. 2 depicts the universal nature of the handle 30 that can be used for all size rollers 20a,b,c. In an embodiment, the handle 30 is secured within the roller 20 by a rotating lock mechanism or a snap-fit assembly to fixedly attach the handle 30 to the roller 20. By depressing the switch 34, the handle 30 may be removed from the center 31 of the roller 20.

FIG. 3 depicts an example of 3 sizes of rollers 20a,b,c having a 2″ diameter; 2.5″ diameter, and 3″ diameter, respectively and each roller is 4″ in length. The length is measured along a side of the roller parallel to the axis of rotation running through the center 31 of each roller 20. In an embodiment the rollers may range from 2-4.″ FIG. 4. depicts a heating base 10 with lid 12 closed. FIG. 5 depicts the heating base 10 with lid 12 open. FIG. 6 depicts a handle 30 being used to remove a hot roller 20. Current roller products are designed to curl hair. The present design will enable the user to smooth and volumize hair.

An alternate option for the handle attachment is a magnet attached to the end of rollers 42 and also a magnet 41 on the end of the handle. This will secure the handle to the roller and allow for easy insertion and removal by aligning the roller magnet 42 with the center 31 of the roller 20 and the handle magnet 41.

Numerous variations and modifications will become apparent to those skilled in the art once the above disclosure is fully appreciated. It is intended that the claims be interpreted to embrace all such variations and modifications.
