Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a punching training device.

2. Description of the Prior Art

A conventional punching training device has a structure including a base, a punching cylinder extending upward from the base, and elastic element between the base and the punching cylinder, such as a spring. When the punching cylinder is hit to sway, the punching cylinder tends to sway back for the next hit. However, elastic elements such as springs are easily damaged, and the elastic force may result users being hurt.

Thus, a safer device as shown in patent U.S. Pat. No. 7,390,288 introduced a roly-poly structure. The device includes a base and a punching cylinder fixed onto the base wherein the bottom of the base is sphere-shaped and the base has a larger weight than the punching cylinder. When the punching cylinder is hit to sway, the base also sways. Due to the heavier base, the punching cylinder tends to sway back to a vertical position to be ready for the next hit.

However, the base is solid and made of cement. As a result, the base may result users hurting when users accidentally hit the base. In addition, the base may result abrasion of ground.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the present invention is to provide a punching training device which tends to retain vertically and having several punching targets.

To achieve the above and other objects, a punching training device of the present invention includes a base, a counterweight member, and a punching member.

The base is made of high resistance foam material and includes an upper shell and a lower shell. The upper shell is formed with a first recess, and the lower shell is formed with a second recess. A cavity is formed by the first recess and the second recess. The base defines a vertical central axis. The cavity is located at the central axis. The lower shell is formed with a convex cambered face at a face thereof opposite to the upper shell. The upper shell is formed with a connecting portion facing upward at a face opposite to the lower shell. The counterweight member has a shape corresponding to a shape of the cavity and is received in the cavity. The punching member is disposed on the connecting portion of the upper shell and further extending upward. The punching member has a punching portion at an end thereof opposite to the base.

Thereby, the counterweight member is able to keep the base vertically even if the punching member is punched to sway. Besides, the base made of high resistance foam material can be another target to hit.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, which show, for purpose of illustrations only, the preferred embodiment(s) in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Please refer to FIG. 1 to FIG. 6, the punching training device of the present invention includes a base 10, a counterweight member, a punching member 30, and a covering coat 40.

The base 10 is made of resilient material such as high resistance foam material. The base 10 includes an upper shell 11 and a lower shell 12. The upper shell 11 is formed with a first recess 111, and the lower shell 12 is formed with a second recess 121. The upper shell 11 and the lower shell 12 are combined to make the first recess 111 and the second recess 121 communicate with each other to form a cavity 13. The base 13 defines a vertical central axis. The cavity 13 is located at the central axis. The lower shell 12 is formed with a convex cambered face or a sphere face at an end thereof opposite to the upper shell 11. The upper shell 11 has a connecting portion facing upward at an end thereof opposite to the lower shell 12. More specifically, outer surfaces of the upper shell 11 and the lower shell 12 are connected continuously to make the base substantially sphere-shaped. Besides, the connecting portion of the upper shell 11 includes a shallow recess 112.

The counterweight member has a shape corresponding to a shape of the cavity 13 to be received in the cavity 13. In the present embodiment, the counterweight member is a blow-molding plastic barrel 20. The barrel 20 encloses a receiving space for being filled with fluid or others. The barrel 20 has an opening at a top thereof, and a barrel lid 21 is set on the opening of the barrel 20 to close the barrel 20. In the present embodiment, the barrel 20 has a lower portion larger than an upper portion thereof. That is, the lower portion of the barrel 20 has a larger volume than the volume of the upper portion of the barrel 20. Preferably, horizontal cross-section of a central portion of the barrel 20 is larger than the horizontal cross-section of the bottom of the barrel 20, and the horizontal cross-section of the bottom of the barrel 20 is larger than the horizontal cross-section of the top of the barrel 20. In other possible embodiments, the counterweight member can be a sand bag or made of pig iron.

The punching member 30 is disposed on the connecting portion of the upper shell 11 and further extends upward. The punching member 30 has at least one punching portion at an end thereof opposite to the base 10. Specifically, the punching member 30 is cylinder-shaped and is made of high resistance or resilient material. An end of the punching member 30 is disposed in the shallow recess 112 to be positioned to the upper shell 11. Alternatively, the punching member 30 can be fixed in the shallow recess 112 by adhesives.

The covering coat 40 includes an upper coat 41 and a lower coat 42. The lower shell 12 is received in the lower coat 42. The upper coat 41 covers the punching member 30 and the upper shell 11. The upper coat 41 has at least one first connecting element 411 at an opening thereof, and the lower coat 42 has at least one second connecting element 421 at an opening thereof. The first connecting element 411 and the connecting element 421 are able to be connected to link the upper coat 41 and the lower coat 42. In the present embodiment, the first connecting element 411 and the second connecting element 421 are Velcro tapes. Besides, the covering coat 40 can further include a zipper 43. The zipper 43 includes two corresponding zipper elements arranged on the upper coat 41 and the lower coat 42 respectively so that the upper coat 41 and the lower coat 42 can be linked.

Practically, the lower shell 12 can be placed into the lower coat 42 in advance, and the barrel 20 is filled with water, sand, or others to increase weight of the barrel 20. And then, the barrel 20 is closed with the barrel lid 21 and is placed into the second recess 121, and the upper shell 11 further covers the barrel 20. Thereafter, the punching member 30 is installed in the shallow recess 112 of the upper shell 11. Finally, the upper coat 41 covers the punching member 30 and the upper shell 11, and the first connecting element 411 and the second connecting element 421 are connected to position the upper shell 11 and the lower shell 12 together.

Because the base 10 is made of high resistance foam material so as to be another target to hit for users. In addition, the lower shell 12 has a cambered bottom face, and the counterweight member is located at the central axis so that the base is able to act as a roly-poly. Besides, the shell can prevent the barrel from being abrasion by ground.
