Description
RELATED APPLICATIONS

This non-provisional patent application claims priority from a provisional patent application No. 62/001,117 filed on 21 May 2014 with the same title.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to seed vault and organizer. Particularly, the present invention may used to store, organize, and dispense seeds to be grown or planted.

Seeds for plants are often purchased in envelopes, and kept there until planting. Seeds that are kept in dry, air tight containers remain the healthiest for planting, and have the highest germination rate.

Further, with the passage of various States' medical marijuana laws, there exists a need to keep different types of cannabis seeds separate. For example one patient may prefer one type of seed over another. Or the provider may have a need to keep different types of seeds in separate containers. A provider may also need to distribute the seeds, thus there is a need to match the seeds stored in a vile, with the respective seeds being distributed in an envelope that corresponds with a respective vile or tub.

As can be seen, there is a need for a system and apparatus to store, transport, and distribute a variety of seed types.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An aspect of the present invention is a seed vault and organizer (5), comprising: a transport container (10) that has a lid (170); said lid (170) hingedly connected to the transport container (10) so that the transport container (10) can be in an open position (210), and can be in a closed position (220); a tube holder (20) removably disposed within the transport container (10); a tube (30) removably disposed within said tube holder (20); an envelope with indicia (110) removably disposed within said transport container (10); an opaque container with sandpaper covered top (70) removably disposed within said transport container (10); a bowl (80) removably disposed within said transport container (10); a funnel (90) removably disposed within said transport container (10); a pair of tweezers (120) removably disposed within said transport container (10); a writing utensil (125) removably disposed within said transport container (10); and a tray (150) removably disposed within said transport container (10).

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

FIG. 1 illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the seed vault and organizer 5 of the present invention. The seed vault and organizer 5 may have a transport container 10, which may be about 4 inches in height 300, and 6 inches deep 320, and 8 inches long 310. The lid or top 170 may be hingedly connected to an edge of the transport container 10, or it may be entirely removable. In one embodiment, a tray 150 may be removably attached to the lid by Velcro®. This way it stays attached to the lid 170 when closed, and can be removed for use after the lid 170 is open.

The transport container 10 may have a handle (not illustrated) on the lid. The transport container 10 may have a tube holder 20 removably or fixedly disposed therein. It may be disposed on the left side of the transport container 10. The tube holder 20 has apertures 200 that can receive and retain tubes or similar containers. In one embodiment the tube holder 20 may be able to house different sized tubes, 30, 40, 50 therein.

In a further embodiment the tubes 30, 40, 50 may be compressible, and can shrink wrap around the seeds to remove as much air from the tube as possible. This type of tube may be firm plastic near the bottom where the tube 30, 40, 50 enters the tube holder 20, and may be pliable like shrink wrap upwardly therefrom.

In one embodiment the tubes, 30, 40, 50 may be airtight and opaque to increase the longevity of the seeds.

FIG. 2 illustrates other components that can be store and transported within the seed vault and organizer 5. Such as an opaque container with sandpaper covered top 70. This can be used to sand or clean the seeds. There may be two of these containers 70. FIG. 2 illustrates these containers 70 setting on the tray 150. Other components include a bowl 80, a funnel 90, a writing utensil 125, a pair of tweezers 120, and a liquid dropper 160. In one embodiment the transport container 10 may have two writing utensils, such as a pencil 140, and a marker 130.

One embodiment of the present invention 5 may have envelopes with indicia 110. The envelopes with indicia 110 may state, “Date” and “Type” and “Notes.” The “Date” will allow for the user to state the date that the seed was harvested, or other dates. The “Type” allows the user to indicate the type of seed contained in the envelope with indicia 110. The “Notes” allow the user to add further information.

FIG. 3 illustrates one embodiment of the present invention 5 in a closed position 220. Figure also illustrates one embodiment of the dimensions of the transport container 10. For example the seed vault and organizer 5 may have a transport container 10, which may be about 4 inches in height 300, and 6 inches deep 320, and 8 inches long 310.

FIG. 4 illustrates the tray 150 that is removably attached to the lid 170 via an attachment means 230. In one embodiment the attachment means 230 is Velcro®.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
