BACKGROUND 1. Technical Field

The instant disclosure relates to a pallet, in particular, to a size adjustable assemblable pallet.

2. Related Art

As known, traditional plastic pallets are integrally formed. Molds with different sizes are used to manufacture plastic pallets with different sizes. However, the molds are quite expensive. Furthermore, the traditional plastic pallet might be useless when being damaged, even if only a small piece of the pallet is missing.

SUMMARY

How to manufacture a pallet with low cost and high usage rate is an issue for related personnel.

To address these issues, the instant disclosure provides a size adjustable assemblable pallet, wherein the length, the width, or both the length and the width of the assemblable pallet can be adjusted.

One embodiment of the instant disclosure provides a size adjustable assemblable pallet comprising a plurality of base members, a plurality of connecting bars, and a plurality of loading plates. Each of the base members comprises a base body, a plurality of grooves, and a plurality of positioning holes. The grooves are formed on the base body, the positioning holes are formed in the respective grooves, and the depth of each of the positioning holes is greater than the depth of the corresponding groove. Each of the connecting bars comprises a main body and a plurality of bending portions. The bending portions are extended from respective opposite ends of the main body and bent toward the same direction. The bending portions are respectively inserted into the positioning holes of two of the base members. At least one portion of the main body is engaged in the grooves of two of the base members, so that the two base members are fixed to two ends of each of the connecting bars. The loading plates are fixed on the base members.

Another embodiment of the instant disclosure also provides a size adjustable assemblable pallet comprising a plurality of base members, a plurality of connecting bars, and a plurality of loading plates. The loading plates are fixed on the connecting bars.

The size adjustable assemblable pallet has advantages described as below. Since the grooves of each of the base members have several positioning holes, the bending portions may be adapted to insert into different positioning holes to adjust the distance between two base members, such that the length and the width of the assemblable pallet are adjustable. Therefore, the size of the assemblable pallet can be adjusted freely and conveniently to meet different requirements. In addition, when one of the base members of the assemblable pallet is damaged or missing, the damaged base member or the missing base member can be replaced by a new base member. Therefore, the assemblable pallet can be used twice or for more times, allowing the cost reduction in manufactory. Further, since the base member has a ribbed structure of certain shape, such as H, I, or X shaped, the structural strength of the base members can be improved along with weight reduction. Furthermore, the base members and the connecting bars are connected with each other to form the pallet frame which is rigid and stable, such that the pallet frame would not deform and is safe when used for handling and transporting materials.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Please refer to FIG. 1, FIG. 2, FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, illustrating a size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 according to a first embodiment of the instant disclosure. FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the size adjustable assemblable pallet 1, FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a base member 20 of the size adjustable assemblable pallet 1, FIG. 3 is a sectional view illustrating the base member 20 is to be mated with a connecting bar 30A, and FIG. 4 is a perspective view of connecting bars 30A of the size adjustable assemblable pallet 1, according to the first embodiment of the instant disclosure. The size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 comprises a pallet frame and a plurality of loading plates 50A on the pallet frame. The pallet frame comprises a plurality of base members 20 and a plurality of connecting bars 30A.

The base members 20 are manufactured by plastic extrusion molding. Each of the base members 20 comprises a base body 23, a plurality of grooves 21, and a plurality of positioning holes 22. The grooves 21 are formed on the base body 23. As shown in FIGS. 6A-6C, the groove 21 may be a longitudinal groove 21 (as shown in FIG. 6A), a transverse groove 21 (as shown in FIG. 6B), or a slanted groove 21 (as shown in FIG. 6C). For each of the base members 20, each of the grooves 21 is cut through two opposite sides of the base body 23. The positioning holes 22 are formed in the inner walls of the respective grooves 21, and the depth of each of the positioning holes 22 is greater than the depth of the corresponding groove 21. Specifically, each of the grooves 21 may have one or more positioning holes 22. As shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 5, several positioning holes 22 may be formed on predefined positions of the base member 20 or formed on the intersections of the grooves 21. In addition, the base members 20 may be, but not limited to, cubes (as shown in FIGS. 6A-6B), cuboids, cylinders (as shown in FIG. 6C), or of other shapes. As shown in FIGS. 6A-6B, several cubic base members 20 may be utilized to form the pallet 1, and the grooves 21 on each of the base members 20 are formed as several cross-like patterns. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 6C, several cylindered base members 20 may be utilized to form the pallet 1, and the grooves 21 on each of the base members 20 are formed as a star-like pattern. In other words, in addition to the grooves 21 which are respectively oriented in longitudinal and transverse directions intersected at the center portion of each of the base members 20, the base member 20 further comprises grooves 21 oriented in slanted direction. A plurality of positioning holes 22 are formed in the horizontal, vertical, and slant grooves 21. When the pallet 1 is to be lifted by a forklift truck, the fork portion of the forklift truck does not directly impact the cylinder base member 20 due to the curved profile of the cylinder base member 20. In addition, the cubic base members 20 may be utilized along with the cylinder base members 20. For example, as shown in FIG. 6D, the cylinder base member 20 is located at a center of the pallet frame, and the cubic base members 20 are located at the sides and corners of the pallet frame. In other words, the pallet frame in FIG. 6D may be accomplished by replacing the cubic base member 20 located at the center of the pallet frame shown in FIG. 6A by a cylinder base member 20.

In this embodiment, the base body 23 of each of the base members 20 has ribbed structures 231 internally, which may be H, I, X shaped, etc. Therefore, along with the weight reduction of the base members 20, the structural strengths of the base members 20 can be improved. In addition, each of the base bodies 23 has a first surface 23A and a second surface 23B opposite to the first surface 23A, and the grooves 21 and the positioning holes 22 are located at the first surface 23A.

Please refer to FIG. 2. A plurality of positioning portions 25 is formed on the second surface 23B of each of the base bodies 23. Here, the positioning portions 25 may be protruded structures, but embodiments are not limited thereto. Descriptions about the structures and the positions of the positioning portions 25 are provided as illustrative purposes. Alternatively, the positioning portions 25 may be formed on the first surface 23A, and the positioning portions 25 may be recessed structures.

The connecting bars 30A are provided for connecting, positioning and fixing the base members 20 with each other. Each of the connecting bars 30A comprises a main body 31A and bending portions 32A respectively formed at two ends of the main body 31A. Here, each of the connecting bars 30A is shaped like a widen U-shaped structure, and its diameter is equal to the depth of the grooves 21. The groove 21 may have different cross section profile, such as a long U-shape profile with flat bottom, a short U-shape profile with arc bottom, etc. In FIG. 3, in order to present the interior structure of the groove 21 clearly, the first surface 23A near to the groove 21 are not shown. Because the diameter of the connecting bar 30A is equal to the depth of the groove 21, the main bodies 31A are received and positioned in the grooves 21 and not to protrude from the grooves 21. Alternatively, each of the main bodies 31A may be positioned in the grooves 21 of one base member 20. The two bending portions 32A are inserted into the poisoning holes 22 of other two base members 20. Each of the positioning holes 22 has secure devices, for example, engaging portions 221 as shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4. When the bending portion 32A is inserted into the positioning hole 22, the bending portion 32A would be mated with the engaging portions 221 securely to prevent from detaching off the positioning hole 22. Hence, the base members 20 can be positioned by the connecting bars 30A, and the main body 31A of the connecting bar 30A would not detach off the groove 21. Besides, since each of the grooves 21 has several positioning holes 22 for each base member 20, the bending portions 32A may be adapted to insert into different positioning holes 22 to adjust the distance between two base members 20, such that the length and the width of the assemblable pallet 1 are adjustable. Therefore, the size of the assemblable pallet 1 can be adjusted freely and conveniently to meet different requirements. The main bodies 31A may have different lengths. For example, a long main body 31A may be utilized along with a short main body 31A to form the pallet, as shown in FIG. 6A; or alternatively, several short main bodies 31A are utilized to form the pallet, as shown in FIG. 6B. Besides, as shown in FIG. 6A, the short connecting bars 30A may be adapted to connect the outer base members 20 (i.e., those base members located at the sides and corners of the pallet frame) with the inner base members 20 (i.e., those base members 20 surrounded by the outer base members 20), and the long connecting bars 30A may be adapted to connect the outer base members 20.

Several connecting bars 30A and base members 20 can be assembled with each other to form a stable pallet frame. Because the main bodies 31A are wholly submerged and positioned in the grooves 21 of the base members 20, the upper surface of the pallet frame is flat, and the upper surface is adapted to assemble the loading plate 50A (as shown in FIG. 5). When the loading plate 50A is secured to the pallet frame, the loading plate 50A is not placed evenly on the upper surface of the pallet frame, and the usability can be thus enhanced.

As shown in FIG. 6A, because each of the base members 20 is provided with several positioning holes 22, the connecting bars 30A for positioning one base member 20 may be oriented in parallel, aligned in a straight line, or oriented perpendicularly with each other but no direct intersection therebetween. In addition, the connecting bars 30A may be aligned in a crossed manner. As shown in FIG. 4, when the connecting bars 30A are crossed, the intersection of the main bodies 31A can be pressed until the connecting bars 30A are fully received in the grooves 21 and do not protrude from the top surface of the grooves 21. Therefore, the surface of the base members 20 is retained flat after the connecting bars 30A are received therein.

In this embodiment, the connecting bars 30A may be solid or hollowed tubular members made of metallic materials. For example, the cross section of the connecting bars 30A may be of square shape, round shape, trapezoidal shape, but embodiments are not limited thereto.

The loading plate 50A may be a particle board, a paper honeycomb plate, or a composite board. Besides, the loading plate 50A may be fixed on the base bodies 23 by means of engaging, mating, gluing with the glue 6 (as shown in FIG. 5), locking, or heat sealing. The loading plate 50A may be fixed on the first surfaces 23A or the second surfaces 23B of the base bodies 23 to form the assemblable pallet 1. Based on the above, the assemblable pallet 1 can be lifted up by a forklift truck.

When the loading plate 50A is assembled to the base members 20, the second surface 23A of the base body 23 comprises several positioning portions 25 (as shown in FIG. 7), and the loading plate 50A comprises several combining portions 51A corresponding to the positioning portions 25. The combining portions 51A are adapted to be engaged with the positioning portions 25. Therefore, the base members 20 can be fixed to the loading plate 50A. In this embodiment, the positioning portions 25 may be protruded structures, and the combining portions 51A may be recessed structures, but embodiments are not limited thereto. Alternatively, the positioning portions 25 may be recessed structures, and the combining portions 51A may be protruded structures. In addition, for each of the base members 20, the positioning portions 25 may be located at the first surface 23A of the base body 23.

In the first embodiment of the instant disclosure, during assembling, the base members 20 are connected and positioned by the connecting bars 30A, and the bending portions 32A of the connecting bars 30A can be inserted into the positioning holes 22 of the base members 20, so that the base members 20 and the connecting bars 30A are connected and fixed with each other to form a flat pallet frame, as shown in FIG. 8. The structure of the pallet frame is rigid and stable, and the components (namely, the connecting bars 30A and the base members 20) of the pallet frame would not be shifted or misplaced (i.e., the pallet would not deform easily). Lastly, the loading plate 50A is fixed on the pallet frame by means of gluing, engaging, heat sealing, or other securing methods.

As shown in FIG. 6A, the base member B is located between the base member 20A and the base member 20C, and the base member 20A and the base member 20C are connected by one connecting bar 30A, where the main body 31A of the connecting bar 30A is partially received in the grooves 21 of the base member 20B. Therefore, it is understood that one connecting bar 30A may be provided to fix and position two base members 20A, 20C, or alternatively, one connecting bar 30A may also be provided to fix and position three base members 20A, 20B, 20C.

Please refer to FIG. 9, which shows a perspective view of a size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 according to a second embodiment of the instant disclosure. In the second embodiment, the loading plates are fixed on the connecting bar 30B.

Here, the loading plate may be integrally formed with the connecting bar 30B. The connecting bar 30B may be of plate shape and manufactured by plastic extrusion molding. The connecting bar 30B comprises a plate portion 36B, two main bodies 31B extended from two ends of the plate portion 36B (or can be regarded as one main body 31B penetrating through the plate portion 36B), and two bending portions 32B extended from end portions of the two main bodies 31B, respectively. The plate portion 36B may have ribbed structures internally to enhance the structural strength of the connecting bar 30B.

Here, the plate portion 36B of the plate-shaped connecting bar 30B may be adapted to replace the loading plate 50A of the first embodiment and perform similar functions as the loading plate 50A does. In other words, the connecting bar 30B of the second embodiment is a plate-like structure integrally formed with a widen U-shaped structure from side view. As shown in FIG. 9, the base member 20 comprises a step portion 28. During assembling one connecting bar 30B to two base members 20, the two ends of the plate portion 36B are attached to the step portions 28 of the two base members 20, respectively, the two main bodies 31B of the connecting bar 30B is received and positioned in the grooves 21 of two base members 20. The two bending portions 32B are respectively inserted into the positioning holes 22 of the two base members 20.

The base member 20 may be located at the sides, the corners, or the central region of the pallet frame. Here, the bending portions 32B may be inserted into different positioning holes 22 of the base member 20, such that the distance between two base members 20 can be adjusted (as shown in FIG. 2). Therefore, the length and the width of the assemblable pallet 1 are adjustable.

Please refer to FIG. 10, which provides another assembling implementation between a loading plate 50A and a connecting bar 30A. Here, the back of the loading plate 50A may comprise one or more engage grooves 57A which allow the loading plate 50A to be fixed on the connecting bar 30A. Each of the engage grooves 57A is a long recess cut through the loading plate 50A, and the cross section of the engage groove 57A is approximately slanted C-shaped (or called horseshoe shaped). The width of the engage groove 57A is gradually increased and then decreased, along the direction from the opening to the bottom thereof. Specifically, one of two inner walls of the engage groove 57A is substantially perpendicular to the surface of the loading plate 50A, while the other inner wall of the engage groove 57A does not perpendicular to the surface of the loading plate 50A. Therefore, the structure and the orientation of the engage groove 57A allow the connecting bars 30A to be received in the engage grooves 57A conveniently.

Please refer to FIG. 11A, FIG. 11B, and FIG. 12, which provide a size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 according to a third embodiment of the instant disclosure. FIG. 11A is a top view (1) of the loading plates 50B of the size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 of the third embodiment, FIG. 11B is a bottom view of the loading plates 50B of the size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 of the third embodiment, and FIG. 12 is a top view (2) of loading plates 50C of the size adjustable assemblable pallet 1 of the third embodiment. In the third embodiment, the loading plates 50B or 50C are utilized to replace the loading plate 50A of the first embodiment.

In this embodiment, the base members 20 are connected and positioned by the connecting bars 30A, and the bending portions 32A of the connecting bars 30A may be inserted into the positioning holes 22 of the base members 20. As shown in FIG. 8 and FIG. 11A, several small loading plates 50B may be utilized to replace the large loading plate 50A. Specifically, the loading plates 50B may be manufactured by plastic extrusion molding and have ribbed structures internally. The ribbed structures may be X shaped, H shaped, II shaped (i.e., two I shaped ribbed structure are substantially parallel aligned), etc. Therefore, the structural strength of the loading plate 50B can be improved. Here, the back of the loading plate 50B may have several engage grooves 57B and hidden buckles 58B located in the engage grooves 57B (as shown in FIG. 11B), which allow the loading plate 50B to be fixed to the connecting bar 30A. Besides, the small loading plates 50B may be aligned parallel. Preferably, in one implementation, the number of the engage grooves 57B for each loading plate 50B is three, and the three engage grooves 57B are respectively formed at the upper portion, the middle portion, and the lower portion of the back of each of the loading plates 50B.

As shown in FIG. 12, the loading plate 50B may be replaced by a loading plate 50C. The loading plate 50C may be manufactured by plastic extrusion molding and have ribbed structures internally, the ribbed structures may be X shaped, H shaped, II shaped (i.e., two I shaped ribbed structure are substantially parallel aligned), etc. Therefore, the structural strength of the loading plate 50C can be improved. Two head portions 51C are assembled to two ends of the loading plate 50C, and two lock members 511C are located at the two head portions 51C, respectively. The lock members 511C may be round rods which can be inserted into the positioning holes 22 of the base member 20 to lock the loading plate 50C on the base member 20. The engage groove 57C can be adapted to receive several main bodies 31A of several connecting bars 30A, such that the loading plate 50C can be fixed to the connecting bars 30A.

Furthermore, as shown in FIG. 13, each of the head portions 51C may comprise several protruded portions 511D to replace the lock members 511C. The protruded portion 511D can be inserted into the groove 21 of the base member 20, such that the loading plate 50C can be secured to the base member 20. The loading plate 50C may be assembled to the sides or the central region of the pallet frame and may be aligned parallel to the loading plate 50B. In addition, the loading plates 50C may be aligned parallel with each other or aligned in a straight line. The connecting bars 30A are parallel with each other and perpendicular to each of the loading plates 50B, 50C.

Accordingly, the connecting bars 30A and the loading plates 50C can be provided to connect, position, and secure the base members 20 and the loading plates 50B, thereby a flat assemblable pallet 1 can be assembled. The assemblable pallet is rigid and stable, and the components of the pallet would not be shifted or misplaced (i.e., the pallet would not deform easily). Specifically, the base members 20 may be located at the sides, the central region, or the corners of the pallet 1.

According to embodiments of the instant disclosure, the bending portion may be adapted to insert into different positioning holes to adjust the distance between two base members. Alternatively, connecting bars with different lengths may be adapted to connect the base members, such that the length and the width of the assemblable pallet are adjustable.

While the disclosure has been described by the way of example and in terms of the preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that the invention need not be limited to the disclosed embodiments. On the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the appended claims, the scope of which should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and similar structures.
