Female Undergarment Suspenders

Women's undergarment suspenders that give the wearer a smoother and slimmer looking silhouette; and keep jeans and pants closely fitted at the waist to prevent gaping, butt cleavage, sagging, muffin top, and the need to constantly pull the pants up without the need for a belt or alterations. The suspenders are attached to the pants with strap attachment members that are discrete and easily attach to belt loops or similar loop like provision on the waistline of the wearer's pants. The suspenders easy to put on and take off, discrete, not visible under clothing, comfortable, conforms to body movement, fits all sizes, has adjustable straps that accommodate different heights, lines up with bra straps, has an adjustable back to accommodate different tops and is made with lingerie/elastic straps that hook onto or around belt loops and go over the shoulders.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is in the technical field of suspenders and more specifically relates to a class of undergarment suspenders of the type that helps keep fitted jeans and pants in place and prevents sagging and gaping and other movement of jeans and pants which changes their appearance on the waist.

Suspenders are fabric or leather straps worn over the shoulders to hold up pants. Straps may be elasticated, either entirely or only at attachment ends, but most straps are of woven cloth forming an X or Y shape at the back. The straps are typically attached to pants with buttons using leather tabs at the ends or with clips. Furthermore, pants worn with suspenders should be slightly loose to hang correctly. Suspenders are made primarily for men and do not hang correctly or provide sufficient support for women.

Jeans and pants have a tendency to stretch and move to various parts of a wearer's waistline throughout the day. This can become very problematic for women wearing fitted jeans or pants because, as they stretch or the woman moves around, the jeans or pants tend to slide down to a wider part of her waist and cut into her body, sag in the buttocks area, or gape in the back. Suspenders, even undergarment suspenders, do not provide enough support to hold women's jeans or pants in place throughout the day. They are also too bulky, do not offer the right amount of elasticity, are not discrete, have bulky clips that do not flatter the waistline, have clips that do not stay securely clamped on to the waistline of fitted bottoms and do not effectively keep women's jeans and pants in place.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides for improved suspenders which can be worn by women as an undergarment that gives the wearer a smoother looking silhouette; keeps jeans and pants closely fitted at the waist; and prevents gaping, butt cleavage, sagging, muffin top, and the need to constantly pull the pants up without the use of a belt or alterations. Said suspenders are attached to the pants with strap attachment members that are discrete and easily attach to belt loops or similar loop like provision on the waistline of the wearer's pants. In one embodiment, the invention is easy to put on and take off, discrete, not visible under clothing, comfortable, conforms to body movement, fits all sizes, has adjustable straps that accommodate different heights, lines up with bra straps, has an adjustable back to accommodate different tops and is made with lingerie/elastic straps that hook onto or around belt loops and go over the shoulders.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1 is a front view of one embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring now to the invention in more detail, in FIG. 1 there is shown a pair of suspenders which includes a harness 10 worn on the wearer's upper body having two straps 14 and 16 which are attached together at lower end 12 in a position on the lower back of the wearer when the suspenders are worn. They can be connected by any mechanism or method which securely affixes them together, such as by being sewn together.

In further detail, still referring to the invention in FIG. 1, harness 10 has three strap attachment members 18, 20 and 22 that connect the harness 10 to the pants by hooking onto or around the belt loops.

Lower end 12 of harness 10 is connected to pants by hooking onto or around the back belt loop using strap attachment member 18 and straps 14 and 16 extend up the wearer's back and splits into two straps 14 and 16, a right strap 14 and a left strap 16. The right strap 14 extends over the wearer's right shoulder and then down the wearer's body where it is connected to the wearer's pants by hooking strap attachment member 20 onto or around one of the belt loops located on the front or side of the pants on the right side of the wearer's body. The left strap 16 extends over the wearer's left shoulder and then down the wearer's body where it is connected to the wearer's pants by hooking strap attachment member 22 onto or around one of the belt loops located on the front or side of the pants on the left side of the wearer's body.

Each strap 14 and 16 has a slider 26 and 28 which allows the wearer to adjust the length of each strap by moving the slider 26 and 28 up or down to accommodate to the wearer's height and as needed to maintain enough tension to keep the wearer's pants in place.

A third slider 24 allows the wearer to adjust at which location straps 14 and 16 split by moving said slider 24 up or down starting at lower end 12 and extending up the wearer's back as needed to accommodate different style tops and for the wearer's comfort.

In further detail, still referring to the invention in FIG. 1, the length of straps 14 and 16 is sufficiently long enough to fit over the wearer's torso. Plus an additional amount which us used to adjust the suspenders for different sizes and shapes of the wearers. The width of the strap can vary depending on the wearer's preference.

Another possibility involves the wearer, after connecting the front straps 14 and 16 to the wearer's pants with strap attachment members 20 and 22, sliding each strap 14 and 16 off of the shoulders, rotating each strap 14 and 16 180 degrees to create an “X” shape with each strap 14 and 16, then putting each arm through the upper loop created by the “X” by each strap 14 and 16 and then sliding each strap 14 and 16 back over the wearer's shoulder.

Another possibility involves the right and left strap attachment members 20 and 22 being pulled through the front or side belt loops towards the back of the wearer's body and extending through the belt loops horizontally around the wearer's body towards the back and then connecting to strap attachment member 18 under or around the back belt loop.

The advantages of the present invention include, without limitation, is that it is a set of thin straps made of lingerie elastic or similar fabric or material and discrete hooks that hook onto or around the belt loops and go over the shoulders thus making it easy to put on and take off, discrete, not visible under clothing, comfortable, it conforms to body movement, fits all sizes, has adjustable straps that accommodate different heights, lines up with bra straps, can be worn over and under other clothing, and has an adjustable back to accommodate different tops.

In broad embodiment, the present invention is women's undergarment suspenders that function to give the wearer a smoother looking silhouette; keep jeans and pants closely fitted at the waist; and prevent gaping, butt cleavage, sagging, muffin top, and the need to constantly pull the pants up without the use of a belt or alterations. And that are attached to the pants with discrete hooks that easily attach to belt loops or similar loop like provision attached to a wearer's pants.

While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.
