BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(1) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to the field of toddler bed rail covers. The present invention more particularly relates to the safety of baby's head from the toddler bed rail. The present invention will provide more safety to baby's head when they tumble in their bed.

(2) Background of Invention

Permanently mounted or removable rail or bar restraints are widely used to prevent children or the incapacitated from falling out of bed. Unfortunately, these restraints typically allow the head, arms and/or legs to be inserted through the rails or bars of the bed or crib. These limbs may then become lodged between the rails or accidently struck by moving people or objects outside the crib. Kid's bed rail are metal and when kids tumble and turn while sleep often they hit their head on metal reed rail, so the purpose of the bumper rail cover is provide a cushion and protect little heads while the kid is sleep or play in bed.

To reduce these dangers, bed bumper pads have been developed. Typically, these bed bumper pads are thin, padded strips covered with fabric or plastic and positioned on top of the mattress around the interior boundary of the bed. Other bumper pads have inflatable padded strips that are connected together and inflated to form a cushioned bumper around the bed. Although the padded strips are usually fastened to the crib, they still may permit the insertion of the child's head, arms or legs between the mattress and the bumper strip itself. Thus, they do not completely eliminate the danger of limbs being caught between the bars of the bed or they hit their head on the bed rail.

Another problem with existing bumper pads is that they tend to be loosely stuffed with filler material. This results in the filler material being redistributed as the crib bumper is handled, particularly when it is washed, such that the crib bumper starts to lose its shape. This loss of shape may cause some portions of the bumper to become thinner and, therefore, provide less protection to the child.

To overcome the defects in the prior art, the present invention is proposed with an improved toddler bed rail bumper cover which protects the children heads from injuries when they tumble in the bed.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Primarily the invention is a detachable side cover for a bed for infant protection and comfort. According to the invention the side cover comprises of a body having a pair of substantial guides forming a bed rail and a protective pad covering over said body. Further the protective pad covering used on the detachable side cover for infant protection and comfort has a plurality of flexible, elongated ties each connected in spaced relation along an outwardly facing surface of the protective pad covering. Moreover, the protective pad for covering the bed rail is positioned in a manner so that that it can house the body of the detachable side cover. Therefore when the flexible member of the protective pad covering are releasably connected together, each said tie being then securable to a corresponding slat of said bed rail and the unpadded section thereby prevents any substantially movement of said protective pad covering. Also the detachable side cover may further comprise of a surface wherein the surface of said body provides a rigid projection on the bed.

Additionally, in preferred embodiments, the invention provides a quilted cover which may be stuffed with materials like cotton etc. for toddler bed rail to provide a toddler bed rail bumper cover which protects the head of small children. In the invention a washable fabric can be used for stuffing the pad to provide protection and comfort to the small children.

Other objectives of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art once the invention has been shown and described. These objectives are not to be construed as limitations of applicant's invention, but are merely aimed to suggest some of the many benefits that may be realized by the apparatus of the present application and with its many embodiments.

In addition to the various objects and advantages of the present invention described with some degree of specificity above it should be obvious that additional objects and advantages of the present invention will become more readily apparent to those persons who are skilled in the relevant art from the following more detailed description of the invention, particularly, when such description is taken in conjunction with the attached drawing figures.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWINGS

The invention will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 depicts the image of toddler bed rail bumper cover according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention.

FIG. 2 depicts the image of traditional kid bed rail according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention assembled on the side of a rail bed.

FIG. 3 depicts the image of traditional kid bed rail according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention assembled on the headboard of rail bed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing the toddler bed rail bumper cover. This invention provides security to baby's head.

The present invention is directed to a toddler bed rail bumper cover. The bumper cover includes a quilted cover stuffed with cotton. Traditional bed rails are of metal they provide safety to babies but they caused some problems also to them. Like when they tumble in their bed at that time, may be their head can hit the bed rail and they can face injury also This bumper cover of toddler bed rail would fully cover the bed rail. This bumper cover would be filled of soft cotton so whenever small babies tumble in their bed they would not face any injury in their head.

Measurement of this toddler bed rail bumper cover would be like: Length would be 15 inches, breadth would be 42.5 inches and depth would be ¾ inches. It would be good for toddlers. It consist washable cotton fabric so if parents need to wash the dirty cover then it will not shrink. This bumper cover has 9 inches straps also for locking this bumper cover with bed rail. Just because of these straps this bumper cover cannot be removed easily by babies from the bumper.

Bed rails are available in many sizes in the market. Like:

1) Extra-long rails: 56.5″ L*15 h″.

2) Standard rails: 43.5″ L*15 h″.

3) Small rails: 26*8″ and 32.5*8″.

Present invention can be used for all the above bed rails.

Further, the invention is a detachable side cover for a bed for infant protection and comfort.

The present invention is a removable, washable, one-piece bumper pad for cushioning babies, from the rails on these beds. Bed rails usually comprise metal bars. They are cold and hostile looking, particularly when viewed up close from a prone position. The bumper pads of the present invention are soft and padded to cushion the limbs of the babies in the bed against contact with the bed rails. Covering the bed rails should also reduce minor injuries which result from bumping or scraping the hands.
