BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Since perhaps man's earliest ability to think, he has apparently been aware of, or concerned with a metaphysical presence controlling or influencing much of his life. Great cathedrals and pyramids have been constructed to please the gods. On a much lesser scale, the proposed Poker Gods' Temple of Luck is provided for poker enthusiasts who may believe that their luck can be enhanced by supplication to said poker gods. Poker players may wish to attract the good wishes of the poker gods, but lack experience and knowledge. The proposed Poker Gods Temple of Luck affords the poker player a variety of supplications that are intended to be both effective and entertaining. Moreover, the execution of the supplications enabled by the Temple and its artifacts can in themselves be entertaining.

The new concept being thus: While at the poker table, poker players have often been heard calling out to the poker gods to help them hit their card and win the poker pot. Some players, being superstitious, would like to feel that they are doing something positive to bring about good luck. The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck is an amusement device designed to help the poker player do just that. The amusement device is a collection of three-dimensional items or ‘artifacts’ that create a temple in which offerings are made directly to the poker gods. The Temple may be made up from as few as one or as many of the items as desired. The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck is meant for playful fun.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck is an amusement device poker related novelty item. It is comprised of many separate items that create a temple in which whimsical offerings are made to one or more of the poker gods. These offerings are made in the hope that the poker gods will confer his/her blessings and good luck to the poker player during poker play. The person who arranges this temple may use as many or as few of the items as the desires to create his/her own version of the temple and may render to the poker gods as offering and supplication as many or as few of the artifacts as he/she desires. Since skill and luck are involved in the play of poker, quite often poker players are heard invoking the poker gods to grant the player good luck. The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck is a physical three-dimensional device with which the poker player may actively and playfully create an oracle through which his/her call to the poker gods may be answered. It also serves as a conversation piece among the poker players themselves. There is a collection of related items that are used to create each individual temple. These items will now be referred to as the ‘poker gods artifacts’ or ‘artifacts’ for short. All of the artifacts are three-dimensional items created specifically to add to the atmospheric theme of The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck. The artifacts are made of suitable material. The use and function of each is described below.

The Object of the Invention

The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck is meant for playful fun. It is simply for amusement and the enhancement of pleasure for those who play poker. The object of The Poker Gods Temple of Luck is to provide a device through which poker players may make offerings to the poker gods in an attempt to win the poker gods favor. The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck acts as an oracle through which this can be done.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The inventor believes this invention is a completely new and novel concept. All of the artifacts are three-dimensional items created specifically to add to the atmospheric theme of The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck. The artifacts are made of suitable material. The use and function of each is described below. While The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck comprises a collection of artifacts having identical intent, it is important to understand that the person who arranges this temple may use one or more of the artifacts as he/she desires to create his/her own version of the temple and may render to the poker gods as offering and supplication one or more of the artifacts as he/she desires. Also, while the inventor has employed The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck as a declared demonstration of his invention, it is important to understand that the inventor claims the Temple of Luck genre, the invention of Temples of Luck precisely tailored for games of chance including casino games of chance and more. Each Temple of Luck embracing the themes of its designated game of chance, such as, craps, roulette, slots and more.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1—The Poker Gods

The Poker God is a three-dimensional item which may have a head, which may have a face, and which may have other bodily features. There are multiple poker gods. There are poker gods with one face, poker gods with two faces, poker gods with three faces, pokers god with multiple faces. The poker gods may be male, female or of non-defined gender. It is intended to present the god(s) with unknown qualities, or they may have names, personality characteristics, likes, dislikes and various psychological traits. The poker god(s) may stand alone. When placed in the temple, the poker god becomes the centerpiece of the temple. Offerings are made to the poker god. The offerings are in the nature of drink, aroma, food, currency, praise, adoration, companionship, and conveyance of choice. The hope is the poker god will be pleased and confer good luck to the poker player in return for the offerings.

FIG. 2—Pedestal

This a pedestal upon which to display the poker god. The pedestal design relates to the general theme of The Poker Gods Temple of Good Luck temple, and in size is proportional to the poker god(s).

FIG. 3—Walls

These are walls that make a backdrop and give definition to the basic staging area of the temple. The walls are approximately (5¼″)×(3¼″)×(¼″) in size, but may vary in size larger or smaller.

FIG. 4—Floor

A floor gives definition to the horizontal staging area of the temple. The flooring material may be fabric, plastic, wood or any suitable material as needed. The flooring is approximately (6″)×(6″) in size, but may vary in size larger or smaller. In some versions the walls and floors interlock to form a singular component, in others the walls and floors are separate components.

There is a chalice that is devoted to the poker god. In this cup the player places drink to honor and please the poker god.

There is a drinking cup for the poker player him/her self. This is a reward for making offerings to the poker god(s).

FIG. 7—Incense and Incense Holder

Incense may be burned to provide a pleasant aroma to entice the poker god and sweeten his/her disposition in hope for favors. The incense holder is of a poker related theme.

FIG. 8—Candle(s) and Candleholder(s) Candles may be burned to provide a pleasant atmosphere to entice the poker gods in hope for favors. The candle holder is of a poker related theme. The candle itself may be of a traditional cylindrical or oval shape. The candle may also be one of the artifacts, for example, a poker god may be cast as a candle. There are also candles using poker related symbols.

FIG. 9—A Divination Artifact

This is an eight-sided device with symbols on each side that determine various degrees of luck. By rolling the artifact, one side lays up and determines the luck that the poker god has granted to the poker player.

FIG. 10—Dice

Dice are used to determine how much food and drink a poker player has been granted by the poker god.

FIG. 11—Jewelry

Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and jewelry-like baubles used to adorn both the poker god(s) and the poker player.

FIG. 12—A Shaker Cup

A cup to place the dice and divination artifact in to shake and throw the item.

FIG. 13—Luck Potion

A luck potion when mixed with the drink of choice to enhance the luck of the poker player. The potion may be in the form of a tablet, powder, or liquid.

FIG. 14—Aphrodisiac

An aphrodisiac offered to the god(s) or for the poker player him/herself. The ‘aphrodisiac’ has no real pharmaceutical effect. May be in the form of a tablet, powder, liquid or other substance.

Flower arrangements to adorn the temple.

FIG. 16—Lighting

Lighting to enhance the quality and atmosphere of the temple.

FIG. 17—Sound

A sound chip or other sound device to set a proper mood for the temple. Music, chanting, incantations, spells, songs, stories, voices may be heard.

FIG. 18—Magnets

Magnets are used for poker players that have had bad luck and need healing. Magnets may be individual or come in a combined form such as a ‘wrist bracelet magnet’. Magnets are poker temple compatible.

FIG. 19—Crystals

Every poker god loves crystals. The offering of a crystal brings the poker player into the favor of the poker god.

FIG. 20—A Poker God Card Protector

A card protector prevents poker player from losing his/her cards by mistake of dealer or other poker players.

The general size and dimensions of the temple are to fit a table top or desk top. The size of the flooring combined with the size of the walls gives a general overall size to the area of the temple. All other artifacts are in a relative proportion to the area of temple. The temple may be defined as one or more of the three dimensional artifacts. The temple may be as large or as small, in size and dimension, as desired.

Claims

1. A collection of conceptualized, three-dimensional items, known as artifacts, working together in concept to enable the poker playing enthusiast to create an individually personalized temple devoted to perceived poker gods, said gods perceived to control the laws of luck and chance and to be susceptible to supplication, wherein The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck may be defined as one or more of the three-dimensional artifacts, said artifacts comprising appropriate personification(s) of the poker god(s) him or herself, and of the temple, and other artifacts to create the atmospheric theme of The Poker Gods' Temple of Luck and enable the poker player to make offerings to seek favor and blessings from the poker god(s), said artifacts, among others, comprising offerings in the nature of drink, aroma, food, music, currency, praise, adoration, companionship, and conveyance of choice.
