The Vertical Forward Grip is a revolutionary new design, which increases shooter(s) accuracy, providing comfort to the shooter and increasing control of the weapon, while reducing fatigue to the shooter(s) overall stamina. The overall design, ergonomic feel, textured grip placement and the ergonomic finger stabilization cradle of the vertical forward grip allows the shooter(s) to remain comfortable for long periods, increasing accuracy and control, providing stabilization of the weapon and the design features are different from conventional vertical forward grip(s). Specific design features/improvements are incorporated into the vertical forward grip unlike the design of conventional vertical forward grip(s). Design features and improvements include: finger stabilization cradle, textured grip placement, ergonomic grip feature (increased grip control and accuracy), quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube, quick turn-and-release cap tube to remove stored miscellaneous item(s).

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A vertical forward grip may consist of a device attached to a Picatinny, Weaver or similar mounting rail system of a short barreled rifle, long barreled rifle, shotgun or related type of firearm. The upper portion of the vertical forward grip may be quickly detached or locked into permanent position via locking mechanism. The vertical forward grip includes an internal storage space for multiple types of batteries and miscellaneous item(s). The vertical forward grip can be adjusted on the rail of the firearm platform to assist with the operator(s) necessities. The vertical forward grip is comprised of an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control.

Conventional vertical forward grip(s) provide a less desired grip, creating fatigue on the shooter(s), reducing the shooter(s) accuracy. Conventional vertical forward grips do not stabilize the weapon as well, providing moderate comfort and control. Conventional vertical forward grips do not give the desired control and comfort to the shooter, fatiguing the shooter over long extended periods of use.

Presently there is no solution with a conventional vertical forward grip(s) to increase stability, accuracy, control and comfort of the weapon.

Therefore, it is the design of this current invention that provides a new and improved vertical forward grip for mounting on firearms.

It is another design improvement of this current invention to provide a new and improved vertical forward grip with the implementation of the ergonomic finger stabilization cradle.

It is another design improvement of this current invention to provide a new and improved vertical forward grip with the implementation of the improved textured grip placement.

It is another design improvement of this current invention to provide a new and improved vertical forward grip with the implementation of the improved integrated quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube, via quick mounting and removal of the grip.

It is another design improvement of this current invention to provide a new and improved vertical forward grip with the implementation of the quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube.

It is another design improvement of this current invention to provide a new and improved vertical forward grip with the implementation of the quick turn-and-release, removal of stored miscellaneous item(s) inside of the base grip device.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In brief, to attain the preferred design improvement of the invention in accordance with the preferred embodiment thereof, a vertical forward grip is disclosed. The present invention seeks to provide a solution to this problem by providing a more ergonomic feel to the shooter while giving additional stability to the weapon for accuracy/control/comfort to the shooter, with the implementation of the improved texture grip placement and ergonomic finger stabilization cradle.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

The following changes and specific design improvements of this current invention will become starkly apparent from the following detailed description of the invention, when taken into consideration with the drawings, in which:

FIG. 1 is an exploded sectional view of the vertical forward grip of FIG. 2, FIG. 3 & FIG. 4;

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the vertical forward grip, in accordance with the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a rear view of the vertical forward grip;

FIG. 4 is a side view of the vertical forward grip.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Turning to FIG. 1, a vertical forward grip in accordance with the current invention, is illustrated. Vertical forward grip 3 includes an improved texture grip placement 3 and ergonomic finger stabilization cradle 3. Integrated with the vertical forward grip 3 includes a lower sealing quick turn-and-release integrated base grip cap tube 1, allowing for storage, quick removal and adjustment/positioning on the lower portion of the rail mounting system. In combination with the quick turn-and-release integrated base grip cap tube 1 and an O-ring 2 is positioned between 1 and 3, to provide a moisture tight seal. Illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 4, the ergonomic configuration is suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control per ergonomic finger stabilization cradle 3 design.

Referring additionally to FIG. 1, a vertical forward grip in accordance with the current invention, is illustrated. Vertical forward grip 3 includes a-lower rectangular base mount screw 4 which travels through the center of the lower rectangular base plate 5 and the O-ring 6. The lower rectangular base mount screw 4 is secured into the base of the rectangular bar-shaped mounting clamp 7. The lower rectangular base mount screw 4, secures the lower rectangular base plate 5 to the rectangular bar-shaped mounting clamp 7, securing the O-ring 6 between the base of the rectangular bar-shaped clamp 7 and the upper portion of the lower rectangular base plate 5. The sealed O-ring 6 provides a compressible moisture tight seal between the lower rectangular base plate 5, and the rectangular bar-shaped mounting clamp 7.

Referring additionally to FIG. 1, a vertical forward grip in accordance with the current invention, is illustrated. Vertical forward grip 3 includes the upper portion of a rectangular bar-shaped mounting clamp 7. The upper surface of the rectangular bar-shaped mounting clamp 7 has two recessed circular surfaces to secure two retaining springs 8. The two retaining springs 8 interface with the lower base of the upper rectangular spring retention base plate 9. The retaining springs 8 are secured between the upper rectangular spring retention base plate 9 with four base plate retention screws 10. The four base plate retention screws 10 are secured into the upper base of the vertical forward grip 3.

In the assembly and operation or positioning of the vertical forward grip 3 and its components 1-10, Illustrated in FIG. 1-4, components 1 and 3 interlock with components 4-10, securing the upper portion of 3 to the rail mounting system via removability and secured among the spaced slots along the lower rail mounting system. Thus the vertical forward grip 3 has a stable platform when secured into place by twisting the quick turn-and-release integrated base grip cap tube 1, which in turn engages the lower rectangular bar-shaped mounting clamp 7 into the slot of the lower portion of the rail mounting system. The vertical forward grips components 1-10 can be quickly adjusted on the rail of the firearm platform to assist with the operator(s) necessities. The vertical forward grip 3 is comprised of an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip, comfort and control, reducing fatigue on the operator and increasing the shooters accuracy and stabilization of the weapon.

Therefore, a new and improved vertical forward grip design is shown and described. The new and improved vertical forward grip is designed to provide a solution to this problem by providing a more ergonomic feel for the shooter while giving additional stability to the weapons and accuracy/control/comfort to the shooter, with the implementation of the improved texture grip placement and ergonomic finger stabilization cradle.

This vertical forward grip is a revolutionary new design, which increases shooter(s) accuracy, providing comfort to the shooter and increasing control of the weapon, while reducing fatigue to the shooter(s) overall stamina. The overall design, ergonomic feel, textured grip placement and the ergonomic finger stabilization cradle of the vertical forward grip allows the shooter(s) to remain comfortable for long periods, increasing accuracy and control, and new design features are different from conventional vertical forward grip(s). Specific design features/improvements are incorporated into the vertical forward grip unlike the design of conventional vertical forward grip(s). Design features and improvements include: finger stabilization cradle, textured grip placement, ergonomic grip feature (increased grip control and accuracy), quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube, quick turn-and-release cap tube to remove stored miscellaneous item(s).

Various changes, improvements and modifications to the vertical forward grip, will be clearly recognized in the illustrations. Such modifications and specific design improvements of this current invention, along with a detailed description, are intended and included within the scope which is assessed only by a fair interpretation of the following claims.

Having fully described the improvements, along with a detailed description, in a clear and concise manner, to help assist with the understanding of the invention claimed.

Claims

I. A vertical forward grip may consist of a device attached to a Picatinny, Weaver or similar slotted tenon mounting rail system of a short barreled rifle, long barreled rifle, shotgun or related type of firearm. The upper portion of the vertical forward grip may be quickly detached or locked into permanent position via quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube mechanism. The vertical forward grip includes an internal storage space for batteries and components. The vertical forward grip can be adjusted on the rail of the firearm platform to assist with the operator(s) necessities. The vertical forward grip is comprised of an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control:

a Picatinny, Weaver or similar slotted tenon mounting rail system is designed to attach many types of rail mounted component(s), such as the vertical forward grip. A slotted tenon type rail mounting system allows components to be mounted on the tenon type railing system via slots that extend longitudinally along the forward grip(s) of the rail mounting system;
a vertical forward grip having a upper portion to allow removal and to secure additionally to the lower portion of the rail mounting system with the vertical forward grip, gripping portion that extends downward, the vertical forward grip design has a tubular body designed to be ergonomically gripped with the support hand of the operator and has a rectangular bar clamp upper end, the rectangular bar clamp upper end allows vertical grip design to be secured to the lower portion of the rail mounting system via removability and seats securely; with the quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube system.
a mounting clamp component mated with the upper portion of the vertical forward grip, the mounting clamp component including an elongated rectangular bar-shaped design, combined with a finger stabilization cradle design. The mounting clamp design is positioned at the upper portion of the vertical forward grip with the quick turn-and-release base grip cap securing the vertical forward grip to the lower portion of the rail mounting system. The mounting clamp components adjustability with the lower portion of the rail mounting system, permits mounting clamp to be selectivity positioned longitudinally along the lower portion of the rail mounting system.

II. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim I wherein the mounting rail of the firearm has a fan-shaped slotted tenon dovetail type design and the upper end of the mounting clamp component includes a longitudinal reversed fan-shaped dovetail mortise, interlocking adjustability to the mounting rail of the rail system of the handguard.

III. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim I wherein the mounting clamp component on the mounting clamp has adjustability longitudinally along the mounting rail capable of interlocking in various positions. The vertical forward grip threaded upper end allows vertical grip design to be secured to the lower portion of the rail mounting system via removability and be seated securely fastened among the spaced slots along the lower rail mounting system.

IV. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim I wherein the cylindrical/tubular design of the gripping device includes a lower threaded end and wherein the vertical forward grip further includes a lower sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads formed to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design.

V. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim IV further including O-rings positioned between the lower portion of the mounting clamp component between the upper and lower portion of the gripping device and the quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube, the O-rings create a moisture tight seal, within the chambers of the gripping device.

VI. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim IV further including cylindrical insert positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device and quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube, battery/component storage insert allow inner storage of miscellaneous item(s) within the gripping device.

VII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim I wherein the cylindrical/tubular design of the gripping device extends downward approximately the width of an adult human hand.

VIII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim VII further including an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control per finger stabilization cradle design, positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device.

IX. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim VII further including a textured grip placement, positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device.

X. A vertical forward grip may consist of a device attached to a Picatinny, Weaver or similar tenon mounting rail system of a short barreled rifle, long barreled rifle, shotgun or related type of firearm. The upper portion of the vertical forward grip may be quickly detached or locked into permanent position via locking mechanism, consisting of a fan-shaped dovetail type design and the upper end of the mounting clamp component includes an longitudinal reversed fan-shaped dovetail mortise, interlocking adjustability to the mounting rail of the rail system of the handguard. The vertical forward grip includes an internal storage space for batteries and miscellaneous item(s). The vertical forward grip can be adjusted on the rail of the firearm platform to assist with the operator(s) necessities. The vertical forward grip is comprised of an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control:

a Picatinny, Weaver or similar mounting rail system is designed to attach many types of rail mounted component(s), such as the vertical forward grip. A rail mounting dovetail open-mortise type track system allows the device to be mounted on the railing system via slots that extend longitudinally along the forward grip(s) of the rail mounting system;
a vertical forward grip having a cylindrical/tubular design of the gripping device includes a lower threaded end and wherein the vertical forward grip further includes a lower sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads formed to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design. The vertical forward grip upper portion allows removal and additionally secures to the lower portion of the rail mounting system with the vertical forward grip, gripping portion that extends downward, the vertical forward grip design has a tubular body designed to be ergonomically gripped with the support hand of the operator and has a quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube grip cap, the lower quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube allows the vertical grip design to be quickly repositioned/removed/secured to the lower portion of the rail mounting system;
a mounting clamp component mated with the upper portion of the vertical forward grip, the mounting clamp component including an elongated rectangular bar-shaped design, combined with a finger stabilization cradle design. The mounting clamp design is positioned at the upper portion of the vertical forward grip with the quick turn-and-release base grip cap securing the vertical forward grip to the lower portion of the rail mounting system. The mounting clamp devices adjustability with the lower portion of the rail mounting system, permits the mounting clamp to be selectivity positioned longitudinally along the lower portion of the rail mounting system;
a lower sealing threaded end completing the lower portion of the vertical forward grip with a sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design.

XI. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim X wherein the mounting clamp device on the mounting clamp has adjustability longitudinally along the mounting rail capable of interlocking in various positions. The vertical forward grip quick turn-and-release base grip cap allows vertical grip design to be secured to the lower portion of the rail mounting system via removability and seats securely among the spaced slots along the lower rail mounting system.

XII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim X wherein the cylindrical/tubular design of the gripping device includes a lower threaded end and wherein the vertical forward grip further includes a lower sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads formed to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design.

XIII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim X further including O-rings positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp component between portions of the gripping device and the quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube, the O-rings seal create a moisture tight seal between the inner storage chamber of the gripping device and the upper portion of the gripping device.

XIV. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim X further including a cylindrical insert positioned between the lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device and quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube, battery/component storage tube allows inner storage of miscellaneous items(s) within the gripping device.

XV. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim X further including an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control per finger stabilization cradle design, positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device.

XVI. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim X further including a textured grip placement, positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device.

XVII. A vertical forward grip on a short barreled rifle, long barreled rifle, shotgun or related type of firearm comprising:

a short barreled rifle, long barreled rifle, shotgun or related type of firearm having a handguard extending along the barrel and a slotted tenon dovetail type rail mounting system. The tenon type railing system via slots extend longitudinally along the handguard parallel with the barrel;
a Picatinny, Weaver or similar mounting rail system is designed to attach many types of rail mounted device(s), such as the vertical forward grip. A rail mounting dovetail open-mortise type track system allows device(s) to be mounted on the railing system via slots that extend longitudinally along the forward grip(s) of the rail mounting system;
a vertical forward grip having a cylindrical/tubular design of the gripping device includes a lower threaded end and wherein the vertical forward grip further includes a lower sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads formed to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design. The vertical forward grip upper portion allows removal and additionally secures to the lower portion of the rail mounting system with the vertical forward grip, gripping portion that extends downward, the vertical forward grip design has a tubular body designed to be ergonomically gripped with the support hand of the operator and has a quick turn-and-release base grip cap securing the upper portion of the vertical forward grip to the lower portion of the rail mounting system;
a mounting clamp device mated with the upper portion of the vertical forward grip, the mounting clamp device including an elongated rectangular bar-shaped design, combined with a finger stabilization cradle design. The mounting clamp design is positioned at the upper portion of the vertical forward grip with the quick turn-and-release base grip cap securing the vertical forward grip to the lower portion of the rail mounting system. The mounting clamp device(s) adjustability with the lower portion of the rail mounting system, permits mounting clamp to be selectivity positioned longitudinally along the lower portion of the rail mounting system;
a lower sealing threaded end completing the lower portion of the vertical forward grip with a sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design.

XVIII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim XVII wherein the mounting clamp component on the mounting clamp has adjustability longitudinally along the mounting rail capable of interlocking in various positions. The vertical forward grip quick turn-and-release base grip cap tube allows vertical grip design to be secured to the lower portion of the rail mounting system via removability and securely fastened among the spaced slots along the lower rail mounting system.

XIX. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim XVII wherein the cylindrical/tubular design of the gripping device includes a lower threaded end and wherein the vertical forward grip further includes a lower sealing quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube with threads formed to mate with the lower threaded end of the cylindrical/tubular design.

XX. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim XVII further including O-rings positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp component below the portion of the gripping device and the quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube, the O-rings seal create a moisture tight seal between the inner storage chamber of the gripping device and the upper portion of the gripping device.

XXI. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim XVII further including a cylindrical insert positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device and quick connect/disconnect turn-and-release base grip cap tube, battery/accessory storage insert to allow inner storage of item(s) within the gripping device.

XXII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim XVII further including an ergonomic configuration suited to the purposes of the operator(s) natural grip and control per finger stabilization cradle design, positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device.

XXIII. The vertical forward grip as claimed in claim XVII further including a textured grip placement, positioned between lower portion of the mounting clamp within the portion of the gripping device.
