SHOE RETAINING ASSEMBLY

Abstract

A shoe retaining assembly includes a strap that has a first end and a second end. The strap is retrofitted to a shoe to retain the shoe on a user's foot. The strap is comprised of an translucent material, concealing the strap from an observer. A pair of pads is provided. Each of the pads is coupled to an associated one of the first end and the second end. Each of a pair of adhesive layers is coupled to an associated one of the pads to engage the shoe thereby retaining the strap on the shoe.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to retaining devices and more particularly pertains to a new retaining device for retaining an open shoe on a user's foot.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a strap that has a first end and a second end. The strap is retrofitted to a shoe to retain the shoe on a user's foot. The strap is comprised of an translucent material, concealing the strap from an observer. A pair of pads is provided. Each of the pads is coupled to an associated one of the first end and the second end. Each of a pair of adhesive layers is coupled to an associated one of the pads to engage the shoe thereby retaining the strap on the shoe.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new retaining device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the shoe retaining assembly 10 generally comprises a strap 12. The strap 12 has a first end 14 and a second end 16. The strap 12 is retrofitted to a shoe 18 such that the shoe 18 is retained on a user's foot 20. The shoe 18 may be a female's high heel shoe or the like. The strap 12 is comprised of an translucent material such that the strap 12 is concealed from an observer. Additionally, the strap 12 may be comprised of a flexible material.

A pair of pads 22 is provided. Each of the pads 22 has a respective outer edge 24 extending between each of a respective top side 26 and a respective bottom side 28 of the pads 22. A first lateral side 30 of the outer edge 24 coupled to an associated one of the first end 14 and the second end 16. The strap 12 is centrally positioned on each of the pads 22. The pads 22 may be comprised of a flexible material such as fabric.

A pair of adhesive layers 32 is provided. Each of the pair of adhesive layers 32 is coupled to the top side 26 of an associated one of the pads 22. Moreover, each of the adhesive layers 32 completely covers the top side 26 to engage the shoe 18 thereby retaining the strap 12 on the shoe 18. Each of the adhesive layers 32 may comprise a high strength adhesive or the like.

A pair of protective layers 34 is provided. Each of the protective layers 34 is removably coupled to an exposed surface 36 of an associated one of the adhesive layers 34. The protecting layers 34 protect the adhesive layers 32 from being contaminated prior to being adhered to the shoe 18. Each of the protective layers 34 may comprise a flexible material such as paper.

In use, each of the protective layers 34 is removed. The exposed surface 36 of each of the adhesive layers 34 is coupled to an inside surface 38 of the shoe 18 such that the strap 12 extends across a collar 40 of the shoe 18. The strap 12 is positioned between a vamp 42 and a counter 44 of the shoe 18. The strap 12 abuts the user's foot 20 to retain the shoe 18 on the user's foot 20. More than one strap 12 may be utilized to provide a tighter fit.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A shoe retaining assembly comprising:

a strap having a first end and a second end, said strap being configured to be retrofitted to a shoe such that the shoe is retained on a user's foot;

said strap being comprised of an translucent material such that said strap is configured to be concealed from an observer;

a pair of pads, each of said pads being coupled to an associated one of said first end and said second end; and

a pair of adhesive layers, each of said adhesive layers being coupled to an associated one of said pads wherein each of said adhesive layers is configured to engage the shoe thereby retaining said strap on the shoe.

2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein each of said pads having a respective outer edge extending between each of a respective top side and a respective bottom side of said pads, a first lateral side of said outer edge of each of said pads being coupled to an associated one of said first end and said second end, said strap being centrally positioned on each of said pads.

3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein each of said pair of adhesive layers being coupled to said top side of an associated one of said pads such that each of said adhesive layers completely covers said top side.

4. The assembly according to claim 3, further comprising a pair of protective layers, each of said protective layers being removably coupled to an exposed surface of an associated one of said adhesive layers such that said each of protective layers protects said adhesive layers from being contaminated.

5. A shoe retaining assembly comprising:

a strap having a first end and a second end, said strap being configured to be retrofitted to a shoe such that the shoe is retained on a user's foot;

said strap being comprised of an translucent material such that said strap is configured to be concealed from an observer;

a pair of pads, each of said pads having a respective outer edge extending between each of a respective top side and a respective bottom side of said pads, a first lateral side of said outer edge of each of said pads being coupled to an associated one of said first end and said second end, said strap being centrally positioned on each of said pads;

a pair of adhesive layers, each of said pair of adhesive layers being coupled to said top side of an associated one of said pads such that each of said adhesive layers completely covers said top side wherein each of said adhesive layers is configured to engage the shoe thereby retaining said strap on the shoe; and

a pair of protective layers, each of said protective layers being removably coupled to an exposed surface of an associated one of said adhesive layers such that said each of protective layers protects said adhesive layers from being contaminated.
