Protection device for drinks standing served in a place subject to external influences, consist of a non-translucent protective shape (20) having an open access on the top side (14). The device is made of fabric (12) and elastic material (26) and can be provided with advertising inscriptions and/or decoration. The circular shape of the device is preferably adapted to allow several styles of drinking cups (24) to be covered by said device.
This product is a lightweight, decorative cover designed to be place on drinking cups of various sizes.

This invention relates to a device for protecting drinks. In particular the device according to the invention provides protection to drinks and the like standing served in a place subject to external influences. The device thus can offer protections against insects, against wind, dust, pollutants, etc., against drug paraphilia being slipped into said drinks.
When the weather is fine it is very agreeable to enjoy drinks in an open place, such as sitting at the table or outside on a terrace or in the park.
A drawback in this situation is however that the drinks may become infested with insects or covered with dust or sand by the wind.
Sometimes it is attempted to avoid this by screening off the drinking cup by means of a newspaper, menu card a handbag, or any other object that can provide protection against wind, dust, pollutants, insects and such.
This is not only very unpractical but very unaesthetic.
This invention aims at providing a solution to the problems disclosed above, which is efficient and nicely fits with the table environment of a terrace, garden, park, nightclub, or bar while offering at the same time additional advantages and commercial uses.
The invention provides a protections device for drinks standing served in a place subject to external influences, which device consists of a non-translucent protective shape having an open access on one side (being referred to the top side). Such a device can be placed over the drink cup with beverage left on the table with some sense of privacy. The protective shape in accordance with the invention is preferable made of fabric and elastic material, for reasons of cost, ease of manufacture and durability. This product is stretched to the desired length in order to fit over the mouth of a drink cup. It is then released so that it fits firmly over the drink cup.
It is also a preferred feature of the invention that its shape is such that the device can be stored in a minimum of space when not in use. Made of fabric material, this product can be washed and reused several times making it a value to the consumer.

5. Place 1½ interfacing under fabric when making buttonhole (not shown)
6. Stitch ¾″ buttonhole (for ½″ button) 2½″ inside circle from outer edge (14)
7. Cut buttonhole when finished
8. Stitch quilt binding (for casing) on both edges, 1″ in from outer edge leaving each end unfinished, which enables elastic to pull thru easier. (16)
9. Thread elastic thru quilt binding, pull up and stitch ends together. (26)

Claims
1. This product is made out of a fabric material and elastic.
2. The closure of claim 1 wherein said body of material is cut into a circular pattern arranging in different sizes with a 3/4″ buttonhole.
3. The closure of claim 2 wherein said body is available in different sizes, stitch 3/4″ buttonhole (for ½″ button hole) cut 2 1/2″ from outer edge of material.
4. The closure of claim 1 wherein said uses elastic of appropriate lengths to surround outer rim of circular objects.
5. The closure of claim 4 wherein said circular object which will provide protection once applied.
