Description
TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a connecting piece, and more particularly to a connecting piece connected movably to a cross rod respectively on the two sides of a folding bedstead.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART

Conventional folding bedsteads, which are folded up to collapse, are generally configured with connecting seats in the middle thereof, unit bedstead sets coupled pivotally to the two sides of each connecting seat are folded when the bedsteads is not in use. For example, Chinese Patent Application No. 201120283411.8 discloses a connecting seats positioned in middle of a bedstead and employed as pivoting seats, a seat body of each connecting seat being arranged with two sets of pivoting holes respectively adapted to connect to upper, lower cross bars in the unit bedstead sets on the two sides of the folding bedstead so as to guarantee the collapse of the cross bars on the two sides, and at the same time, to meet the requirement of supporting upper rods of the bedstead. But, the width and volume of the connecting seat must be larger in order to connect the upper, lower frame sets on the two sides simultaneously such that the weight thereof is also larger, leading to the increase of the volume and weight of the bedstead after being folded up. In addition, if pivoting holes of the connecting seat is inaccurate slightly or all the sets of rods are not turned simultaneously, the rods in connection with the connecting seat cannot be turned smoothly during the folding thereof.

There are some other types of folding bedsteads such as, for example, the one disclosed in Chinese Patent Application No. 201120336010.4 has two in-between connecting blocks adapted to connect the right and left frame sets, and two circular through holes allowing the longitudinal rods of the frame sets to be passed through are configured symmetrically in the middle of each connecting block, thereby coupling the two frame sets pivotally to each other. In addition, the connecting blocks also allow the two frame sets to be supported on the middle part thereof during the expansion of the bedstead. But, the weight and volume of the connecting block mentioned above are large too, which increases the weight of the entire bedstead and therefore, the production cost of the bedstead.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the present invention is to provide a connecting piece for a folding bedstead, being simple in structure and convenient in use and connecting the frames on the two sided of a bedstead movably and furthermore, supporting them.

To achieve the object mentioned above, the present invention proposes a connecting piece for a folding bedstead. The bedstead includes a unit bedstead set respectively on the left, right sides thereof, where each unit bedstead set includes a upper frame set and lower frame set, and a plurality of in-between support rods are connected to the upper, lower frame sets, where each frame set includes two cross rods and two longitudinal rods connected to the two cross rods. Furthermore, the two unit bedstead sets are connected to each other through the cross rods on the frame sets; the two corresponding cross rods on the two upper frame sets are in pivotal connection with the two sides of the connecting piece, with the lower side of the middle part of the connecting piece being extended with a support edge adapted to support the two cross rods upon the expansion of the bedstead.

The connecting piece mentioned above is a sheet structure on the two sides of which pivoting holes allowing the two cross rods to be in pivotal connection with are configured.

A plurality of cross beams are configured between the two above-mentioned longitudinal rods of each frame set, where the two cross beams between the two upper frame sets are coupled pivotally to the connecting piece.

From the structures mentioned above, the two unit bedstead sets of the folding bedstead are coupled movably to each other through the in-between connecting pieces; the two cross rods of the two unit bedstead sets can be coupled movably and supported upon the expansion of the bedstead only through one single connecting piece connected pivotally therebetween; the connected cross rods in the unit bedstead sets on the two sides drive the two unit bedstead sets to be folded symmetrically and closed together upon the folding of the bedstead. Therefore, the present invention is simple in structure and convenient in use, and capable of the movable connection with and the support for the rods on the two sides of a bedstead at the same time, thereby allowing the bedstead structure to be simpler and easier to use.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIG. 2, a unit bedstead set 1 is respectively configured on the left and right sides of a folding bedstead, where the two unit bedstead sets 1 are connected to each other movably. Each unit bedstead set 1 includes a upper frame set 11 and lower frame set 12, where the upper frame set 11 includes two cross rods 111 and two longitudinal rods 112 between the two cross rods 111, where some longitudinal beams 113 are further configured between the two cross rod 1 111, and some cross beams 114 between the two longitudinal rods 112 so as to increase the support strength of the upper frame set 11 for supporting mattress or bed plate placed on the bedstead. In addition, some wire rods 115 may also be configured between the two longitudinal rods 112. Furthermore, the lower frame set 12 also includes two cross rods 121 and two longitudinal rods 122 between the two cross rods 121, where cross beams 124 corresponding to and positioned below the cross beams 114 may also be configured between the two longitudinal rods 122, with a plurality of support rod 2 serving as support poles being coupled pivotally to and positioned between the cross rod 111 of the upper frame set 11 and the cross rod 121 of the lower frame set 12 in each unit bedstead set 1.

In order to realize how each two corresponding cross rods 111 of the two upper frame set 11 and each two corresponding cross rods 121 of the two lower frame sets 12 are coupled pivotally to each other between the two unit bedstead sets 1, and how the two unit bedstead sets are folded and closed together, referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a connecting piece 3 is configured between each two corresponding cross rods 111 of the two upper frame sets 1 to connect them together, and the two cross beans 114 of the two upper frame sets 11 may be coupled pivotally to each other through the connecting piece 3. The connecting piece 3 is a sheet structure, the two sides of which are respectively configured with a pivoting hole 31, both of which allow the two cross rods 111 to be coupled pivotally to, so that the two cross rods coupled pivotally thereto can be turned or folded together. Furthermore, a support edge 32 adapted to support the two cross rods 111 is extended toward one side from the lower side in the middle of the connecting piece 3, thereby allowing the two expanded cross rods to rest thereon, and thus to be supported by them without moving or falling down as FIGS. 1 and 2 show so as to have the both effects of connecting the two cross rods 111 together movably and supporting the two cross rods 111 upon expansion.

Furthermore, the two cross rods 123 of the two lower frame sets 12 may also be coupled pivotally to each other through the connecting piece 3, and the two cross rods 121 may also be coupled pivotally to each other through a connecting sheet. In the embodiment, a connecting sheet 4 connecting the two cross rods 121 is configured with two pivoting holes in connection with the two respective cross rods 121, where the distance between the two pivoting holes connecting the two cross rods 121 is smaller than the one between the two pivoting holes 31, thereby matching the folding of the bedstead to provide moving space upon the respective folding of the upper and lower frame sets. Furthermore, in the embodiment, the two sides of the upper part of the connecting sheet 4 are respectively coupled pivotally to a transfer sheet 5, another end of which is respectively coupled pivotally to the support rod 2 positioned at the closing end of each unit bedstead set 1. Referring to FIGS. 2 to 4, when the bedstead is being folded, the two unit bedstead sets 1 are folded together through the connecting pieces 3 and connecting sheets 4 coupled pivotally between the two unit bedstead sets. In the folding process of the bedstead, the cross rods 111 of the two upper pivoting sets 11 are collapsed downward relatively to the connecting piece 3 in the middle of the bedstead, and the two cross rods 121 of the lower frame sets 12 are also collapsed downward, with which the upper frame set 11 and lower frame set 12 of each unit bedstead set can be folded, thereby completing the folding of the entire bedstead finally, as FIG. 4 shows.

As described above, the two unit bedstead sets of a folding bedstead can be connected movably through the in-between connecting pieces. The two corresponding cross rods of the upper frame sets are coupled pivotally to each other only through one single connecting piece, and the movable connection thereof and support thereof upon expansion can then be realized. Upon the folding of a bedstead, the connected cross rods of the two unit bedstead sets drive the two unit bedstead sets to fold together symmetrically by means of the connections of the connecting pieces. Thereupon, the present invention is simple in structure and convenient in use, capable of connecting the frame rods on the two sides of a bedstead movably and furthermore supporting them.

The aforementioned and other objectives and advantages of the present invention will become clearer in light of the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment of this invention described in connection with the drawings. It is intended that the embodiments and drawings disclosed herein are to be considered illustrative rather than restrictive.
