METHOD FOR PRODUCING BLANKET, AND BLANKET PRODUCED BY METHOD
A method for producing a blanket, and a blanket produced by the method are disclosed. A method for producing a blanket having a filler such as cotton batting included within the outer cover includes sewing the outer cover of the blanket with the filler even at the outermost edge of the blanket to stably fix the filler in the outer cover at the edge of the blanket while enabling rapid and easy production due to there being no need for an extra finishing process. The outer cover of the blanket is sewn with the filler even at the outermost edge of the, thereby freely forming the design of the outermost edge of the blanket and enabling a pattern sewn in the middle of the blanket to be formed in a variety of patterns regardless of a gap with the outermost edge of the blanket.
The present invention relates to a method for producing a blanket, and a blanket produced by the method and, more particularly, to a method for producing a blanket having a filler such as cotton batting included within the outer cover, and a blanket produced thereby, the method being capable of: sewing the outer cover of the blanket with the filler even at the outermost edge of the blanket to thus produce a blanket where the filler is stably fixed in the outer cover at the edge of the blanket while, in particular, enabling a rapid and easy production due to there being no need for an extra finishing process; and sewing the outer cover of the blanket with the filler even at the outermost edge of the blanket for the filler to be stably fixed in the outer cover at the edge of the blanket, thereby freely forming the design of the outermost edge of the blanket and enabling a pattern sewn in the middle of the blanket to be formed in a variety of patterns regardless of a gap with the outermost edge of the blanket.
BACKGROUND ARTA bedding, in general, consists of a blanket and a mattress. The aforementioned bedding and a pillow are collectively called a bedding set (a blanket, a mattress, and a pillow). The blanket is an essential item in the bedding set. According to the chapter 29 of the picture handbook published in the Korea dynasty, the pillow and the blanket are described as an embroidered pillow and sleeping clothes. A historic background on the aforementioned bedding set might be known from a record on the blanket and the pillow recited in the book “Item lists on blanket, mattress and pillow” published in the Chosun dynasty. The pillow excavated from an ancient tomb of the Backjae dynasty, the pillow of the Korea dynasty and the pillow excavated from the tomb of the general of Kim, Duk-ryung who was died in a prison during the Imjin war between the Chosun dynasty and Japan are almost same as the modern pillows. From this fact, it is possible to assume that the blanket, the mattress and the pillow are passed down from old times without any changes thereto.
As mentioned above, there are various kinds of blankets. Most of these blankets are constituted in a structure wherein the filler (this is called a cotton batting and is made of cotton wool, chemical wool, etc.) is filled in the outer cover (a raw fabric covering the exterior of the blanket).
PATENT DOCUMENTSThe Korean Patent Laid-open No. 10-2011-033371 (laid-open on Mar. 31, 2011) entitled “a blanket produced using a knitted fabric and a method for producing the same”.
The aforementioned patent document is directed to a blanket produced using a knitted fabric and a method for producing the same, wherein the blanket is produced in such a way that a knitted fabric produced by a circular knitting machine is sewed at a predetermined interval in a state where the layers of the knitted fabric is not pushed backward after an inner filler, for example, a cotton wool, etc. has been filled inside of the knitted fabric, thus forming a sewing line and cutting it into a unit raw fabric, and each corner of the unit raw fabric is cut, thus forming an opening part, and the unit raw fabric is fixed to an embroidery frame after a pipe has been inserted into the opening part at a lateral surface of the unit raw fabric so as to prevent any sagging or drooping of the unit raw fabric, and the thusly fixed unit raw fabric is sewed together with the inner filler, and then the fixing tongs and the pipe are removed, and each end thereof is cut off and is subjected to a finishing process. In this way, the blanket can be produced without any sagging and drooping or rolling-up of a short or long blanket in such a way that the raw fabric is cut off into unit raw fabrics, and the opening part is formed, and the pipe is inserted into each end and is fixed in place with the fixing tongs.
According to the aforementioned conventional method for producing a blanket (patent documentation), the outer cover is sewed and formed using a raw fabric which forms the outer cover of the blanket, and then a cotton batting, namely, a filler, is inserted into the outer cover, thus forming the exterior of the blanket, and a predetermined pattern is formed sewed in the middle of the blanket or the outermost edges of the blanket are subjected to a finishing process, thus finishing the blanket. In case of the blanket produced by the conventional producing method, the outer cover of the blanket and the inner filter are not firmly fixed at the outermost edges of the blanket. For this reason, the filler may move away from the edges of the blanket during the use of the blanket, so the outer cover and the filler may remain separated from each other.
Moreover, if a predetermined finishing process is prepared and carried out in order to firmly fix the outer cover and the filler to the edges of the blanket, the manufacturing cost may increase due to the additional work processes, and the manufacturing time, likewise, may increase.
If the outer cover and the filler are not firmly fixed in place at the edges of the blanket, it may be difficult to increase the interval at the outermost edges of the blanket to a predetermined extent when designing the patterns formed sewed in the middle of the blanket (if this interval is extended too much, the filler which is not fixed in place to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket may be likely to tangle in the middle of the blanket), and the designing of the patterns formed sewed in the middle of the blanket may be greatly limited. The designing of the outermost edges of the blanket may be also limited since it inevitably needs to consider the insertion of the filler or an additional finishing process, whereupon, the designing itself may be limited.
DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION Technical ProblemAccordingly, the present invention is made in an effort to solve the aforementioned problems.
It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a blanket and a blanket produced by the method which makes it possible to produce a blanket wherein the filler can be firmly fixed to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket since the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed at the outermost edges of the blanket. In particular, the blanket can be quickly and readily produced with the aid of eliminated finishing processes.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a blanket and a blanket produced by the method wherein since the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed at the outermost edges of the blanket, the designing of the outermost edges of the blanket can be freely carried out in a state where the filler is firmly fixed to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket.
It is further another object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a blanket and a blanket produced by the method wherein since the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed at the outermost edges of the blanket, the filler can be firmly fixed to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket, whereby the patterns formed sewed in the middle of the blanket can be made into a variety of shapes irrespective of the interval to the outermost edges of the blanket.
Solution to ProblemThe method for producing a blanket and a blanket produced by the method according to the present invention may include the following components.
To achieve the above objects, there is provided a method for producing a blanket, which may include, but is not limited to, a spreading step wherein a filler inserted inside a blanket is spread, and a first outer cover and a second outer cover adapted to form the upper and lower surfaces of the blanket are stacked and spread over a surface of the filler; a first sewing step wherein an outermost sewing line adapted to form an outermost edge of the blanket is sewed at the filler, the first outer cover and the second outer cover which have been stacked in sequence and spread in the spreading step; and an overturning step wherein after the first sewing step, the blanket is turned inside out, and the filler positions inside the first outer cover and the second outer cover, whereupon the blanket can be quickly and readily produced, wherein the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed at the outermost edges of the blanket, and the filler can be firmly fixed in place at the outer cover at the edges of the blanket.
According to another embodiment of the present invention, there is further provided a second sewing step wherein an opening part wherein an outermost sewing line is sewed is formed at a part of the outermost edges of the blanket in the first sewing step, so an overturning step can be carried out, wherein the blanket can be turned inside out through the opening part after the first sewing step, and the opening part is sewed after the overturning step.
According to further another embodiment of the present invention, there is further provided a third sewing step wherein a variety of patterns can be sewed in the middle of the blanket in a state where the filler is inserted inside the first outer cover and the second outer cover the overturning step.
According to still further another embodiment of the present invention, the first outer cover is spread in such a way that the inner surface thereof contacting with the filler is disposed toward the filler and is contacted with the filler, and the outer surface thereof intended to be exposed to the outside when the blanket is finished is disposed in the opposite direction, and the second outer cover is spread in such a way that the outer surface thereof intended to be exposed to the outside when the blanket is finished is disposed toward the first outer cover which has been spread underneath the second outer cover and is contacted with the first outer cover, and the inner surface thereof intended to contact with the filler after the overturning step is spread in the opposite direction.
There is provided a blanket which is produced by the blanket producing method according to an embodiment of the present invention.
Advantageous EffectsThe present invention is able to provide the following advantageous effects by way of the preferred embodiments, the configuration and engagements and the relationship when in use, which will be described below.
In the present invention, it is possible to produce a blanket wherein the filler can be firmly fixed in place to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket since the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed even at the outermost edges of the blanket, and the blanket can be quickly and readily produced with the aid of eliminated finishing processes.
In the present invention, since the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed at the outermost edges of the blanket, the filler can be firmly fixed in place to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket, whereby the designing of the outermost edges of the blanket can be freely carried out.
In the present invention, since the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed even at the outermost edges of the blanket, the filler can be firmly fixed in place to the outer cover at the edges of the blanket, the patterns formed sewed in the middle of the blanket can be made into a variety of shapes irrespective of the interval to the outermost edges of the blanket.
The method for producing a blanket and a blanket produced by the method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. If it is judged that a known function or configuration may render the subject matters of the present invention unclear while the present invention is being described, the detailed description thereon will be omitted. The word “comprise” used throughout the specification as in “a predetermined unit comprises a predetermined component” means that unless otherwise stated, it may comprise another component, not excluding such component.

As mentioned in connection with the problems of the blanket produced by the conventional producing method, the blanket is produced by the conventional method in such a way that an outer cover is made through sewing by using a raw fabric which has been prepared to produce an outer cover of the blanket (the outer cover is made like an envelope by sewing all the sides except for only one side), and a cotton batting, namely, a filler, is filled into the outer cover, thus producing the blanket. In the thusly produced blanket, since the outer cover of the blanket and the inner filler are not firmly fixed in place, the filler may move out of the edges of the blanket during the use of the blanket, so the outer cover and the filler may remain separated or the filler may be tangled in the middle of the blanket. Moreover, in order to resolve the aforementioned problems, if an additional finishing process is carried out to firmly fix the outer cover and the filler at the edges of the blanket, the number of the work processes may inevitably increase due to the aforementioned additional work process, which may result in increased producing costs, and the blanket production may take longer.
Therefore, in the present invention, the blanket wherein the outer cover of the blanket and the filler can be firmly fixed in place at the outermost edges of the blanket by way of the improved producing method, can be produced quickly and readily through a simple process.
The spreading step S1 is a step wherein a filler 10, which is inserted into a blanket, is spread, and a first outer cover 20 and a second outer cover 30, which define the upper and lower surfaces of the blanket, are stacked and spread over one surface of the filler 10.
Namely, different from the conventional method wherein the outer cover is first made by way of sewing, and the filler is inserted into the outer cover, in the present invention, the filler 10 (the filler 10 represents a predetermined thing, for example, a cotton batting inserted into the blanket for the sake of heating effects and may represent a collective meaning of a cotton wool, a chemical wool or other cotton batting. In the present invention, the filler 10 is preferably a flat-shaped filler which is interconnected together and can be spread in a flat shape—more specifically, rather than the filler like duck down a feather of which remains isolated from each other, a filler is preferred, which is interconnected together like a cotton wool or a chemical wool and can be spread in a flat shape) inserted in the blanket, the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30 are stacked in the sequence where they appear in the above description, and spread on the worktable (a). The outermost edges of the blanket, thereafter, are sewed at a time in the first sewing step S2, thus forming an outermost sewing line 40, and the outer cover of the blanket (the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30) and the filler 10 are firmly fixed along the outermost sewing line and in place at the outermost edges of the blanket.

The overturning step S3 is a step wherein the blanket is turned inside out after the first sewing step S2, so the filler 10 can position inside the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30. More specifically, the blanket is turned inside out after the first sewing step S2 through the opening part 50 by the manual or mechanical method in a state where the outer cover (the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30) of the blanket and the filler 10 have been firmly engaged together (fixed) after the outermost edges of the blanket except for the opening part 50 are sewed by the outermost sewing line 40 in the first sewing step S2. Here, the blanket should be turned inside out along the portions (if it is stacked in the sequence of the filler 10, the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30, the portions between the second outer cover 30 and the first outer cover 20 may become an inverting center) between the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30 from the filler 10, the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30 which have been stacked in sequence. According to the method for producing a blanket, the outer cover (the first outer cover 20 and the third outer cover 30) of the blanket and the filler 10 are firmly fixed in place together through the first sewing step S2 and the overturning step S3 after the filler 10, the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30 of the blanket have been spread in sequence, by means of which it can be possible to prevent the filler 10 from separating, not fixed at the edges of the blanket, and getting tangled toward the middle of the blanket. In particular, the blanket can be quickly and readily produced through the simplified processed.
In addition, according to the method for producing a blanket, a third sewing step S5 may be carried out, wherein a variety of patterns can be sewed and formed in the middle of the blanket in a state where the filler 10 have positioned inside the first outer cover 20 and the second outer cover 30 through the overturning step S3.

Claims
1. A method for producing a blanket, comprising:
- a spreading step wherein a filler inserted inside a blanket is spread, and a first outer cover and a second outer cover adapted to form the upper and lower surfaces of the blanket are stacked and spread over a surface of the filler;
- a first sewing step wherein an outermost sewing line adapted to form an outermost edge of the blanket is sewed at the filler, the first outer cover and the second outer cover which have been stacked in sequence and spread in the spreading step; and
- an overturning step wherein after the first sewing step, the blanket is turned inside out, and the filler positions inside the first outer cover and the second outer cover, whereupon the blanket can be quickly and readily produced, wherein the outer cover of the blanket and the filler are sewed at the outermost edges of the blanket, and the filler can be firmly fixed in place at the outer cover at the edges of the blanket.

The method of claim 1, further comprising a second sewing step wherein an opening part wherein an outermost sewing line is sewed is formed at a part of the outermost edges of the blanket in the first sewing step, so an overturning step can be carried out, wherein the blanket can be turned inside out through the opening part after the first sewing step, and the opening part is sewed after the overturning step.
3. The method of claim 2, further comprising a third sewing step wherein a variety of patterns can be sewed in the middle of the blanket in a state where the filler is inserted inside the first outer cover and the second outer cover the overturning step.
4. The method of claim 3, wherein the first outer cover is spread in such a way that the inner surface thereof contacting with the filler is disposed toward the filler and is contacted with the filler, and the outer surface thereof intended to be exposed to the outside when the blanket is finished is disposed in the opposite direction, and the second outer cover is spread in such a way that the outer surface thereof intended to be exposed to the outside when the blanket is finished is disposed toward the first outer cover which has been spread underneath the second outer cover and is contacted with the first outer cover, and the inner surface thereof intended to contact with the filler after the overturning step is spread in the opposite direction.
