Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to dating and, more particularly, to a method of providing an identifier for a wearer's relationship status.

To find a date, a person may either approach a random person in a public setting to engage in conversation or use online dating. Online dating or Internet dating is a personal introductory system whereby individuals can find and contact each other over the Internet to arrange a date, usually with the objective of developing a personal, romantic, or sexual relationship. Currently, online dating may be time consuming and is generally impersonal. When approaching someone in a public setting, the approached person may not be single since certain married individuals do not wear wedding rings.

As can be seen, there is a need for a visual identifier for a person's relationship status.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect of the present invention, a method of visually identifying a wearer's relationship status comprises: providing a bracelet comprising a first strap intertwined and connected with a second strap, wherein the bracelet indicates the wearer is single; and securing the bracelet around the wearer's wrist.

These and other features, aspects and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings, description and claims.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 3 is an exploded view of an embodiment of the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a section view of an embodiment of the present invention, taken along line 4-4 in FIG. 2; and

FIG. 5 is a detail section view of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The following detailed description is of the best currently contemplated modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. The description is not to be taken in a limiting sense, but is made merely for the purpose of illustrating the general principles of the invention, since the scope of the invention is best defined by the appended claims.

The present invention may include a bracelet designed with purple and white leather straps intertwined and debossed with a verbiage or logo. The bracelet of the present invention is an alternative to on-line dating and may identify the wearer as single and available to date. Therefore, one can confidently approach the wearer and begin a conversation knowing that the wearer is single and looking for a date. The length of the bracelet may vary between 6″ up to about 12″ inches, such as about 8″ up to about 10″. The width of the bracelet may be between about ⅛th″ up to about 6/8th″, such as about ⅜″.

Referring to FIGS. 1 through 5, the present invention includes a method of visually identifying a wearer's relationship status using a bracelet 10. The bracelet 10 may include a plurality of different indicators that identify the wearer 40 as being unmarried and single. An identifier may include certain structural differences as compared to other bracelets. In certain embodiments, an identifier includes the bracelet 10 having a first strap 12 that is intertwined and connected with a second strap 14. The bracelet 10 may be secured to a wearer's wrist to indicate that the wearer 40 is single.

In certain embodiments, the first strap 12 has a longer length than the second strap 14. The first end and the second end of the second strap may include a first aperture 36 and a second aperture 38 respectively. The first strap 12 may include a first aperture 32 that aligns with the first aperture 36 of the second strap 14, and a second aperture 34 that aligns with the second aperture 38 of the second strap 14. Rivets 22, 24 may secure the first strap 12 and the second strap 14 together through the aligning slots 32, 36 and aligning slots 34, 38. For example, a rivet post 24 may fit through the first apertures 32, 36 and a cap 22 may snap onto the rivet post 24. Another rivet post 24 may fit through the second apertures 34, 38 and a cap 22 may snap onto the rivet post 24, securing the first strap 12 and the second strap 14 together.

As mentioned above, the first strap 12 and the second strap 14 are intertwined, providing a unique appearance. In certain embodiments, the first end of the second strap 14 is connected to an inner surface of the first strap, a middle portion of the second strap 14 covers a portion of an outer surface of the first strap 12, and a second end is connected to an inner surface of the first strap 12. The second strap 14 may include a first bend near the first end so that the second strap 14 wraps around from the inner surface of the first strap 12 and up to the outer surface of the first strap 14. A second bend is near the second end of the second strap 14 so that the second strap 14 bends around from the outer surface of the first strap 12 and back to the inner surface of the first strap 12, thereby intertwining the two straps 12, 14.

The present invention may include multiple indicators to visually identify the wearer's 40 relationship status. In certain embodiments, the first strap 12 may be a different color than the second strap 14. For example, the first strap 12 may be purple, while the second strap 14 may be white. In certain embodiments, the present invention may include a verbiage 16 indicating the wearer is single. As illustrated in the Figures, the verbiage may include “Prowl” or any other verbiage that indicates the individual is single. The verbiage may also include a logo or brand name of the company making and selling the present invention.

To attach the bracelet 10 to a wrist of the wearer 40, a first end of the bracelet 10 may releasably connect to a second end of the bracelet 10. For example, the present invention may include a buckle 20 including a pin 20. The buckle 20 may be attached to the first end of the bracelet 10. The buckle 20 may be secured to the bracelet 10 via a fold. A rivet post 24 may fit within aligning apertures 42, 44 and a cap 22 may snap into the rivet post 24. On a second and opposite end, the bracelet may include a first buckle aperture 26, a second buckle aperture 28, and a third buckle aperture 30. The pin 20 may fit through each buckle aperture 30 adjusting the length of the bracelet 10.

It should be understood, of course, that the foregoing relates to exemplary embodiments of the invention and that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the following claims.
