This application claims the benefit of Korean Patent Application No. 10-2015-0059886, filed on Apr. 28, 2015, and No. 10-2015-0181438, filed on Dec. 18, 2015 in the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the disclosure of which is incorporated herein in its entirety by reference.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a bowl for Vietnamese spring rolls. More particularly, the present invention relates to a bowl for Vietnamese spring rolls, comprising a bowl portion which contains water for soaking rice papers and a plate portion which allows a user to place the water-soaked rice paper thereon and easily wrap fillings with the rice paper.
2. Description of the Related Art
Gi cun, commonly known as Vietnamese spring rolls, is Vietnamese food that is taken by wrapping various fillings such as fresh vegetables, meat, etc. with a thin wrapper made from rice flour, called a rice paper, and dipping it in a sauce.
Due to the nature of the menu, many dishes are prepared to make the Vietnamese spring rolls, such as a vegetable dish, a meat dish, a sauce bottle, a rice paper holder, a bowl which contains water for soaking a rice paper, a personal side dish for making the spring rolls, etc.
As such, due to the nature of the menu that is required to prepare many dishes, the bowl for containing water is commonly used for the lack of space on the table. Considering the fact that many people repeated the process of holding dried rice papers with their hands and soaking them in water, the common use of the bowl is undesirable in terms of hygiene.
Meanwhile, the dried rice paper can be cooked only by soaking it in water, and the spring rolls are made using the water-soaked, flexible rice papers. At this time, when the rice paper is cooked using hot water instead of cold water, the cooking is much faster with more tender texture, and thus hot water is preferred for cooking the rice papers.
However, since the existing bowl that contains water for soaking the rice paper has an open top, the surface of hot water contained in the bowl is exposed to the air and thus cooled quickly, which is problematic.
Moreover, when a water-soaked rice paper is placed on a generally used, flat dish, the rice paper adhere to the dish, which makes it difficult to hold the rice paper, and when fillings are placed on the rice paper, the fillings are spread widely, which makes it inconvenient to make the spring rolls.

Moreover, when it is determined that the detailed description of the known art related to the present invention may obscure the gist of the present invention, the detailed description thereof will be omitted. Furthermore, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described below, but the technical idea of the present invention is not limited or restricted and may be carried out by a person having ordinary skill in the art.
Next, a bowl 100 for Vietnamese spring rolls in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to
A bowl 100 for Vietnamese spring rolls in accordance with a first embodiment of the present invention comprises a bowl portion 110 in which water is contained and a plate portion 140 mounted on the top of the bowl portion 110.
Specifically, the bowl portion 110 comprises a bowl bottom 112 in which water is contained and a bowl top 114 which extends from an upper end of the bowl bottom 112.
Here, the bowl top 114 is inclined by a predetermined length toward the inside top of the bowl bottom 112 so as to cover a part of the open top of the bowl bottom 112.
A plate 142 of the plate portion 140, which will be described later, is in contact with an upper edge 116 of the bowl top 114 to support the plate portion 140.
Moreover, the bowl portion 110 comprises a cut portion 118 to connect the inside and the outside of the bowl portion 110 while the open top thereof is closed by the plate portion 140.
The cut portion 118 is formed by cutting a part of the bowl top 114 as shown in
The cut portion 118 is a path through which a rice paper R is put into the bowl portion 110. If the cut angle of the cut portion 118 is 120° or less, it is inconvenient to put the rice paper R into the bowl portion 110, whereas, if the cut angle of the cut portion 118 exceeds 170°, the length of the upper edge 116 of the bowl top 114, which supports the plate portion 140, is shortened. As a result, it is difficult to properly mount the plate portion 140, or hot water contained in the bowl portion 110 is in more contact with the outside air by the cut portion 118 having an excessively large area and thus is cooled quickly, which is problematic.
A mouth 120 may be provided in the bowl portion 110. The mouth 120 protrudes outward from the portion where the cut portion 118 is located in the bowl bottom 112, and thus water can be conveniently injected into or withdrawn from the bowl portion 110 through the mouth 120.
Moreover, a grip hole 122 may be formed in the bowl portion 110. As shown in
The grip hole 122 is configured such that when a user grips the bowl portion 110, the user can insert his or her thumb into the grip hole 122 to more conveniently and stably grip the bowl portion 110.
The plate portion 140 comprises the plate 142 which is formed in a concave shape toward the bottom and mounted on the upper edge 116 of the bowl top 114.
The plate 142 is configured to receive the rice paper R thereon and has a hole 144 formed in the center of the lower surface to penetrate in the vertical direction.
With the hole 144 formed in the plate 142, the area in which the rice paper R adheres to the plate 142 can be minimized, which makes it possible to easily fold the rice paper R.
Moreover, since the hole 144 is configured to connect to the plate portion 140 and the bowl portion 110, the water flowed down from the water-soaked rice paper R is not collected in the plate 142, and the steam generated from the hot water contained in the bowl portion 110 passes through the hole 144 and is delivered to the rice paper R, thereby preventing the rice paper R put on the plate 142 from being dried quickly.
Furthermore, the water can be injected into the bowl portion 110 through the hole 144, and thus it is possible to easily replenish the water without having to separate the plate portion 140 from the bowl portion 110.
Meanwhile, a protrusion 146 protrudes from a lower part of the plate 142 in the circumferential direction such that an upper surface thereof is in contact with the inside of the bowl top 114. With the protrusion 146, it is possible to prevent the plate portion 140 from being easily separated from the bowl portion 110.

Here, the plate portion 240 may further comprise a plurality of protrusions 246 which protrude from the upper surface of the concave surface 244. The plurality of protrusions 246 which protrude from the upper surface of the concave surface 244 can prevent the water-soaked rice paper R from adhering to the concave surface 244, which makes it possible to easily take off the rice paper R.
As shown in
By doing so, it is possible to allow a user to easily grip the edge of the rice paper R using his or her hand or chopsticks and easily make the spring rolls.
The plate portion 240 may further comprise a flange 248 which protrudes from the bottom of the plate body 242 in the circumferential direction.
The upper surface or lower surface of the flange 248 is in contact with the support portion 216 formed on the bowl portion 210 and is supported by the support portion 216 such that the plate portion 240 can be mounted on the top of the bowl portion 210.
