A blower structure constituted by a rotating head composed of a protective annular band which is provided with a blunt circumferential outer flap and is connected, by way of two or more blades, to a support, the latter being constituted by a flat base from which a propeller cuff protrudes below, it being possible to key the flat base onto a motorized head of a brush cutter, each one of the blades having a shape structure that is adapted to obtain an air flow oriented toward an axis of the flat base in a direction of the propeller cuff.

Description

The present invention relates to a blower structure.

Nowadays blowers are known which are comprised of a box-like main body, usually made of plastic material, in which an electric or gasoline motor is accommodated and with which a handle is associated; there is a switch for switching on/off, and a lever for controlling the speed, while the main body is connected to a tube for dispensing air.

A fan is usually keyed to the shaft of the engine and is provided with radial blades, the function of which is to frontally suck air in order to then convey it radially to the tube.

Such blowers are therefore used for example to blow leaves in a desired direction in order to later collect them more easily in a desired area.

Such conventional solution suffers drawbacks, however: the air output from the tube generates a flow that has a substantially conical orientation with a lateral component that determines a dispersion of the product that the user wants to direct, which is therefore dispersed further, requiring further passes with the blower in order to redirect it toward the desired area, and therefore more time to carry out the work.

These lateral dispersions of the air flows further entail an expenditure of energy, thus entailing a higher consumption of fuel.

Furthermore such conventional blowers have a high purchase cost.

Such conventional blowers are further particularly heavy and must be firmly gripped and supported with one hand only by way of the handle, and therefore it is not very easy to orientate them.

In such conventional blowers there is, on the box-like main body, a lateral air intake, meaning that if the user holds the blower with the hand that directs such hole toward himself, he must take care to hold it away from his body because, in the event of contact or close approach, there is the risk of occluding the air intake for example with his trousers.

Furthermore conventional engine-driven blowers have a frontal muffler, meaning that it is possible, during use, that when the user orientates the blower he directs the muffler toward himself, with the attendant risk of burns.

Finally, conventional blowers are expensive to produce.

The aim of the present application is therefore to resolve the above mentioned technical problems, eliminating the drawbacks in the cited known art and hence devising a blower structure that makes it possible to optimally blow for example leaves in a chosen direction without dispersing them further and therefore reducing the time to complete the job.

Within this aim, another object of the invention is to devise a blower that can be used more easily by gripping it with two hands.

Another object is to devise a blower that is low cost to make and which therefore has a lower purchase cost for the user.

Another object is to devise a blower that is structurally simple and can be used by the user while keeping it at a greater distance from his body easily and with little effort.

This aim and these and other objects which will become better apparent hereinafter are achieved by a blower structure, characterized in that it is constituted by a rotating head composed of a protective annular band which is provided with a blunt circumferential outer flap and is connected, by way of two or more vanes, to a support which is constituted by a flat base from which a propeller cuff protrudes below, it being possible to key said flat base onto a motorized head of a brush cutter, each one of said blades having a shape structure that is adapted to obtain an air flow oriented toward an axis of such flat base in a direction of such propeller cuff

Further characteristics and advantages of the blower according to the invention will become better apparent from the detailed description of a particular, but not exclusive, embodiment thereof, which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings wherein:

In the embodiments illustrated, individual characteristics shown in relation to specific examples may in reality be interchanged with other, different characteristics, existing in other embodiments.

With reference to the figures, the reference numeral 1 generally designates a blower structure which is constituted by a rotating head 2 composed of a protective annular band 3 which is provided with a lower end 4, an upper perimetric edge 5 and an inner lateral surface 6.

A circumferential outer flap 7 protrudes externally from the lower end 4 of the protective annular band 3; it is blunt, substantially U-shaped in cross-section, and can be associated with or welded to laterally or below the lower end 4 of the protective annular band 3.

The protective annular band 3 is connected, in the specific embodiment shown, by way of three blades 8a, 8b, 8c to a support 9 constituted by a flat base 10 from which a propeller cuff 11 protrudes below.

The height of the support 9 is substantially equal to that of the protective annular band 3 and is therefore substantially contained within it.

The flat base 10 is provided axially and centrally with a hole 12, conveniently contoured, in order to allow the keying or positioning thereto of a pin 13 which protrudes from the motorized head 14a which is present at the end tip of a frame 14, usually tubular and provided with two grips 15a, 15b, of a brush cutter 16 which comprises an engine assembly 17, electric or gasoline, for the transmission of motion to the motorized head 14a.

The coupling of the flat base 10 to the motorized head 14a in fact makes it possible to rotate the rotating head 2, usually anticlockwise.

In fact the motorized head 14a can be accommodated within a cavity 14b which is provided on the flat base 10 concentrically to the hole 12, while the pin 13 is externally threaded for connection to a complementarily threaded nut 14c which can be accommodated within a complementarily shaped seat 14d which is provided on the propeller cuff 11 coaxially to the hole 12.

Each blade 8a, 8b, 8c has a curved shape, with the concavity facing away from the propeller cuff 11.

Each blade 8a, 8b, 8c has a first, upper point of attachment 18a, 18b, 18c arranged proximate to or at an outer perimetric edge 19 of the flat base 10 or at a lateral surface 20 of the propeller cuff 11; subsequently each blade has an extension that brings it to rise upwardly, higher than the plane of arrangement of the flat base 10, and therefore also of the upper perimetric edge 5 of the protective annular band 3, in order to then descend downwardly in the direction of the inner lateral surface 6, until it connects at or proximate to the upper perimetric edge 5 of the protective annular band 3.

Each blade 8a, 8b, 8c has a second, lower point of attachment 21a, 21b, 21c arranged proximate to or at the outer perimetric edge 19 of the flat base 10 or at the lateral surface 20 of the propeller cuff 11; subsequently each blade has a shape structure that brings it to descend downwardly in the direction of the inner lateral surface 6, until it connects proximate to or at the lower end 4 of the protective annular band 3.

Each one of the blades 8a, 8b, 8c, once the blower structure 1 is put into operation, generates a flow that is oriented substantially toward the axis of the flat base 10 in the direction of the propeller cuff 11, thanks to their particular shape structure.

It follows from this that the overall flow of air generated by the three blades 8a, 8b, 8c of the rotating head 2 is arranged substantially according to a cylindrical canalization.

Thus it has been found that the invention fully achieves the intended aim and objects, a blower structure 1 being obtained which concentrates the determination of the flow of air in a narrow area that is central to the rotating head, thus eliminating the lateral dispersion of air flows, all thanks to the shape structure of the blades 8a, 8b, 8c which drive the air toward the center.

The air flow that is obtained therefore makes it possible to optimally blow for example leaves in a chosen direction without dispersing them further and therefore reducing the time to complete the job.

The blower can also be used by the user while keeping it at a greater distance from his body easily and with little effort.

The blower further requires a lower expenditure of energy, for the same work, thus requiring further less time to carry out the work.

The purchase costs of the blower structure 1 are lower than those of conventional blowers, since the user can also use a brush cutter which is already in his possession, simply by adding the rotating head 2 and connecting it thereto.

Furthermore, by using the coupling of the blower structure 1 with the brush cutter 16, the problem of conventional blowers of gripping it with one hand only is eliminated, since there are two grips 15a, 15b in it which enable the user to hold and use the blower with two hands, making the work simpler and less tiring.

The presence of the double grip 15a, 15b of the blower according to the invention further makes it possible to use a blower under conditions of utmost safety given that the blower structure 1 connected to the brush cutter 16 can be held at a greater distance from the body of the user, thus reducing considerably the risk of burns.

The invention is susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims. Obviously the materials used as well as the dimensions of the individual components of the invention may be more relevant according to specific requirements. The characteristics indicated above as advantageous, convenient or the like, may also be missing or be substituted by equivalent characteristics.

Claims

1. A blower structure, constituted by a rotating head composed of a protective annular band which is provided with a blunt circumferential outer flap and is connected, by way of two or more vanes, to a support which is constituted by a flat base from which a propeller cuff protrudes below, said flat base being keyed onto a motorized head of a brush cutter, each one of said blades having a shape structure that is adapted to obtain an air flow oriented toward an axis of said flat base in a direction of said propeller cuff

The blower structure according to claim 1, wherein said protective annular band has a lower end, an upper perimetric edge, and an inner lateral surface, said blunt circumferential outer flap protruding externally from said lower end and having a substantially U-shaped cross-section, and being associated with or welded to laterally or below said lower end of said protective annular band.

3. The blower structure according to claim 1, wherein a height of said support is substantially equal to that of said protective annular band and is substantially contained therein.

The blower structure according to claim 1, wherein said flat base is provided axially and centrally with a hole, in order to allow the positioning within said hole of a pin which protrudes from said motorized head which is present at an end tip of a frame, provided with two grips, of a brush cutter which comprises an engine assembly for the transmission of motion to said motorized head.

The blower structure according to claim 1, wherein in said hole it is possible to arrange a pin which protrudes from said motorized head which can be accommodated within a cavity which is provided on said flat base concentrically to said hole, said pin being externally threaded for connection to a complementarily threaded nut which can be accommodated within a complementarily shaped seat which is provided on said propeller cuff coaxially to said hole.

The blower structure according to claim 1, wherein each one of said blades has a first, upper point of attachment arranged proximate to or at an outer perimetric edge of said flat base or at a lateral surface of said propeller cuff, subsequently each one of said blades having an extension that brings it to rise upwardly, higher than the plane of arrangement of said flat base, and therefore also said upper perimetric edge of said protective annular band, in order to then descend downwardly in the direction of said inner lateral surface, until it connects at or proximate to said upper perimetric edge of said protective annular band.

7. The blower structure according to claim 6, wherein each one of said blades has a second, lower point of attachment arranged proximate to or at said outer perimetric edge of said flat base or at said lateral surface of said propeller cuff, subsequently each one of said blades having a shape structure that brings it to descend downwardly in the direction of said inner lateral surface, until it connects proximate to or at said lower end of said protective annular band.

8. The blower structure according to claim 1, wherein the flow of air generated overall by said blades of said rotating head is arranged substantially according to a cylindrical canalization.
