Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to an undergarment that covers the upper body. More specifically, the present invention is an upper body undergarment with detachable handwears as the handwears are selectively able to cover both hands of the user.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Handwears, such as gloves and mittens, are generally worn by every age group of people in order to keep their hands warm from cold weather. Due to the fact that the handwears are considered separate garments from the outer garment or the inner garment, the handwears tend to be misplaced or lost frequently by the users. Another disadvantage is that young children are often unable to keep their handwears on by themselves and often drop them inadvertently. It is impractical to permanently combine the handwears to the outer garment or the inner garment as the handwears need to be removed indoors and in order to complete activities that require increased dexterity.

It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide an upper body undergarment with detachable handwears so that the user can completely cover their hand with the handwears when needed and remove the handwears when necessary. The detachable handwears are attached to the cuff rims of the upper body undergarment with a fabric-fastener, where the fabric-fastener, such as a hook-and-loop fastener, a male-and-female button fastener, a button-and-hole fastener, a hook-and-eye fastener, and a zipper fastener, allows the user to separate the handwears from the upper body undergarment when required. Additionally, the present invention also utilizes a suspending attachment member so that the handwears can be secured to the upper body undergarment even when they are detached from the cuff rims. The present invention also includes an arm length adjustment system so that the present invention is able to provide a perfectly formfitting garment with respect to the both arms of the user.

DETAIL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.

The present invention is an upper body undergarment with detachable handwears so that the users of the present invention are able to utilize the detachable handwears upon their discretion. The present invention provides the flexibility for the upper body undergarment to be worn with the handwears or without the handwears. Since left and right undergarment arm sleeves 1 of the upper body undergarment is individually attached with the one of the handwear, the respective components and the configuration remain same for the left and right undergarment arm sleeves 1 within the present invention. In reference to FIG. 1, the present invention comprises an undergarment arm sleeve 1, a hand cover garment 6, and a fabric-fastener 11 as the hand cover garment 6 is removably attached with the undergarment arm sleeve 1 through the fabric-fastener 11. The undergarment of the present invention is intended to be worn underneath an outerwear garment that would cover the fabric-fastener 11 and ensure that the user is fully protected from snow or cold air. The utility of the present invention is to securely attach the hand cover garments 6 to the undergarment arm sleeves 1 but allow for easy removal. In reference to the undergarment, the present invention provides the user flexibility of different outwear garments used in varied weather conditions with one type of undergarment. Furthermore, the undergarment of the present invention provides ease of washing that an outerwear garment is not able to provide.

The undergarment arm sleeve 1 of the present invention can be the left undergarment arm sleeve 1 or the right undergarment arm sleeve 1 of the upper body undergarment. The undergarment arm sleeve 1 normally covers the left or right arm of the user from the shoulder to the wrist and comprises a bicep section 2, an elbow section 3, a forearm section 4, and a cuff rim 5 as shown in FIG. 2. The bicep section 2 is adjacently positioned with an undergarment neck opening 20, and the elbow section 3 is adjacently positioned with the bicep section 2 opposite of the undergarment neck opening 20. The forearm section 4 is adjacently positioned with the elbow section 3 and positioned opposite of the bicep section 2 as the cuff rim 5 is adjacently positioned with the forearm section 4 opposite of the elbow section 3.

The hand cover garment 6 covers the left or right hand of the user when utilized within the present invention. Even though the preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes a mitten as the hand cover garment 6, the hand cover garment 6 can include, but is not limited to, a full covered glove, a fingerless glove, and an opened glove. In reference to FIG. 3, the hand cover garment 6 of the present invention comprises a wrist opening-edge 7 and a hand enclosure 8. More specifically, the hand enclosure 8 covers the majority of the user's hand while the shape of the hand enclosure 8 can differ depending upon the type of hand cover garment 6. For example, the hand enclosure 8 of a full covered glove is configured differently compare to the hand enclosure 8 of a fingerless glove. The wrist opening-edge 7 enables the user to insert his or her hand into the hand cover garment 6 as the wrist opening-edge 7 is adjacently positioned with the hand enclosure 8. The wrist opening-edge 7 further contains an integral elastic member to keep the hand cover garment 6 snug at the wrist.

The fabric-fastener 11, which creates the removable attachment between the undergarment arm sleeve 1 and the hand cover garment 6, comprises a first fastener portion 12 and a second fastener portion 13 as shown in FIG. 3-4. Even though the preferred embodiment utilizes a zipper fastener as the fabric-fastener 11, the present invention can function with any other type of removable fasteners that are suitable to utilize with fabric material. For example, the fabric-fastener 11 can include, but is not limited to, a hook-and-loop fastener, a male-and-female button fastener, a button-and-hole fastener, and a hook-and-eye fastener. In reference to FIG. 4, the first fastener portion 12 is perimetrically connected to the wrist opening-edge 7, and the second fastener portion 13 is perimetrically connected to the cuff rim 5. Since the first fastener portion 12 and the second fastener portion 13 are separated into the undergarment arm sleeve 1 and the hand cover garment 6 respectively, the first fastener portion 12 and the second fastener portion 13 are able to removably attached with each other about the wrist opening-edge 7 and the cuff rim 5 creating the attachment between the undergarment arm sleeve 1 and the hand cover garment 6. As a result, the user can detach the hand cover garment 6 from the undergarment arm sleeve 1 or attached the hand cover garment 6 to the undergarment arm sleeve 1 upon user's discretion.

The present invention further comprises a suspending attachment member 14 between the upper body undergarment and the handwears so as not to allow the handwears to be misplaced when the handwears are removed from the hands. The suspending attachment member 14 that secures the hand cover garment 6 to the undergarment arm sleeve 1 comprises a first end 15 and a second end 16. In reference to FIG. 4, the first end 15 is removably attached with the forearm section 4 while the second end 16 is removably attached with a back portion 10 of the hand enclosure 8. In reference to FIG. 3, the back portion 10 is generally positioned opposite of a palm portion 9 of the hand cover garment 6 as the palm portion 9 covers the palm area of the hand and the back portion 10 covers the dorsal area of the hand. The attachments between the first end 15 and the forearm section 4 and the second end 16 and the back portion 10 utilize any type of removable attachment system such as, a hook-and-loop fastener, a male-and-female button fastener, and a button-and-hole fastener. As a result of the suspending attachment member 14, the hand cover garment 6 is always available to the user and is never misplaced. Even when the user desires not to wear the hand cover garment 6 by detaching the hand cover garment 6, the suspending attachment member 14 suspends the hand cover garment 6 from the undergarment arm sleeve 1. It is recommended to completely remove the hand cover garment 6 from the undergarment arm sleeve 1, detaching from the fabric-fastener 11 and the suspending attachment member 14, before cleaning the upper body undergarment and the hand cover garment 6 through a washing machine.

The present invention further comprises an arm length adjustment system 17 that enables the user to ensure proper fit for users of various arm lengths. The customization of the garment is carried through the arm length adjustment system 17 that comprises a male fastener 18 and at least one female fastener 19. In reference to FIG. 2, the male fastener 18 is connected about the elbow section 3 while the at least one female fastener 19 is connected about the bicep section 2. The at least one female fastener 19 of the preferred embodiment comprises three female fasteners so that the user is able to perform three different length adjustments to the undergarment arm sleeve 1. The male fastener 18 can be removably attached with one of the female fasteners, if the user desires to adjust the length of the undergarment arm sleeve 1. As a result of the arm length adjustment system 17, the user is able to firmly wear the present invention without having the hand cover garment 6 extends beyond the hands of the user. Even though the at least one female fastener 19 of the preferred embodiment comprises three female fasteners, the present invention can utilize any number of female fasteners as the at least one female fastener 19.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
