Shirt and Undergarment Attachment

A shirt and lower undergarment are disclosed that provide a system for keeping a shirt in a tucked-in position. The shirt having strips of fabric attached to the interior on the front, back and sides with snaps on the strips of fabric. The lower undergarment disclosed may also have snaps attached using strips of fabric, with the snaps on the undergarment positioned to receive the snaps on the shirt and hold the shirt in a tucked position.

BACKGROUND

1. Technical Field

This disclosure relates to apparel devices, body garments, shirts and blouses, and also to garment supporters which encircle the torso and have additional holding devices to retain a shirt or blouse in position.

2. Background

Many shirts and blouses (hereinafter referred to as a shirt) are designed to be worn tucked into the pants or lower outer garment. Movement of the person wearing the shirt can cause the shirt to become untucked partially or completely. Some devices are known that attempt to solve this problem, but they have disadvantages. Some of the known devices have a disadvantage in that the device can be seen on the exterior of the garments and therefore detract from the desired look of the garment. Other devices have a disadvantage in comfort, as the device is stiff or uncomfortable when used, so that the user must choose between comfort and maintaining the desired look of a tucked shirt. A device or system is needed to assist in keeping a shirt tucked into pants or a skirt, and which can overcome one or more of the disadvantages of the prior art.

BRIEF SUMMARY

A garment is disclosed including a shirt with an interior and an exterior. In some embodiments the shirt is a dress shirt. The shirt may include at least one front panel having a top and a bottom, and at least one back panel having a top and a bottom. The front panel and the back panel may be attached with a first side seam and a second side seam. The first side seam and the second side seam may define sides of the shirt, and may have a top and a bottom and run in a generally vertical direction when the shirt is worn.

A first strip of material may have one snap, or a first vertical row of snaps may be attached to the first strip of material. The first vertical row of snaps may have at least two snaps, and may have three or for snaps. The first strip of material may be attached to the interior of the shirt adjacent to the first side seam near the bottom of the first side seam.

A second strip of material may have at least one snap, or a second vertical row of snaps may be attached to the second strip of material. The second vertical row of snaps may have at least two snaps, and may have three or four snaps. The second strip of material may be attached to the interior of the shirt adjacent to the second side seam, near the bottom of the second side seam.

A third strip of material may have a snap, or a third vertical row of snaps may be attached to the third strip of material. The third vertical row of snaps may also have at least two snaps, and may have three or four snaps. The third strip of material may be attached to the interior of the shirt on the back panel near the bottom of the back panel.

A fourth strip of material may have a snap, or a fourth vertical row of snaps may also be included, attached to the fourth strip of material. The fourth vertical row of snaps may have at least two snaps, and may also have three or four snaps. The fourth strip of material may be attached to the interior of the shirt on the front panel near the bottom of front panel. In some embodiments the front panel includes a first front panel and a second front panel. The first front panel and the second front panel may be configured to be attached with buttons. The first front panel may include a placket along an edge and button holes, the placket having a top and a bottom. The second front panel may include the buttons configured to pass through the button holes in the first front panel. The fourth strip of material may be attached to the second front panel so that when the shirt is buttoned the fourth strip of material will be parallel to the placket.

The first strip of material and the second strip of material and the third strip of material and the fourth strip of material may all be substantially the same length with the same number of snaps, and may be positioned in substantially the same vertical position so that when the shirt is worn they will be at a similar vertical position relative to a waistline.

In some embodiments the garment also includes a lower body undergarment having a waistband. The lower body undergarment may have a front, a back, a first side and a second side. The lower body undergarment may include a fifth strip of material with a snap, or a fifth vertical row of snaps attached to the fifth strip of material. The fifth strip of material may be attached to the first side of the lower body undergarment. The fifth vertical row of snaps may be configured to connect to at least one snap on the first strip of material on the shirt.

The lower body undergarment may also include a sixth strip of material with a snap, or a sixth vertical row of snaps attached to the sixth strip of material. The sixth strip of material may be attached to the second side of the lower body undergarment. The sixth vertical row of snaps, or the snap on the sixth strip of material may be configured to connect to at least one snap on the second strip of material on the shirt.

The lower body undergarment may also include a seventh strip of material with a snap, or a seventh vertical row of snaps attached to the seventh strip of material. The seventh strip of material may be attached to the back of the lower body undergarment. The seventh vertical row of snaps, or the snap on the seventh strip of material may be configured to connect to at least one snap on the third strip of material on the shirt.

The fifth strip of material may have a top and the sixth strip of material may have a top and the seventh strip of material may have a top. In some embodiments the top of the fifth, sixth and seventh strips of material may all be positioned in substantially the same vertical position relative to the waistband.

The lower body undergarment may also include an eighth strip of material with a snap, or an eighth vertical row of snaps attached to the eighth strip of material. The eighth strip of material may be attached to the front of the lower body undergarment. The eighth vertical row of snaps, or the snap on the eighth strip of material may be configured to connect to at least one snap on the fourth strip of material on the shirt.

A kit for assembly with a set of garments is disclosed. The kit may include a first set of material strips each having multiple snaps aligned in a row attached thereto, and a second set of material strips each having multiple snaps aligned in a row attached thereto. The first set of material strips may have a first length and the second set of material strips may have a second length that is approximately equal to the first length.

The multiple snaps in the first set of material strips may be configured to removeably attach to the multiple snaps in the second set of material strips. The kit may also include a third set of material strips each having multiple snaps aligned in a row attached thereto. The third set of material strips may have a third length, and the first length may be longer than the third length. The multiple snaps in the first set of material strips may be configured to removeably attach to the multiple snaps in the third set of material strips.

The first, second and third set of material strips may have a front with the snaps attached thereto and a back with a bonding agent deposited thereon and configured for bonding the first, second and third set of material strips to the set of garments.

The row of snaps on the first set of material strips may each have between two and four snaps.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The system disclosed may provide the benefit of keeping a shirt tucked-in even while the person wearing the shirt is moving. To understand some of the benefits of various embodiments, the following application is disclosed.

FIG. 1 shows a shirt 100, which in this case is a dress shirt 100 and lower undergarments 200. Dress shirts 100, and button up shirts may be used for formal attire, as part of a uniform, or in other ways where it is not acceptable for the bottom of the shirt to come un-tucked. The example illustrated in FIG. 1 has four strips of material (120, 124, 128 and 138) attached to the shirt 100 with snaps attached to each strip. In the example of FIG. 1 the lower undergarment 200 has corresponding strips of material (220, 224, 228, and 238) with snaps. In this example, the snaps on the shirt 100 are designed to have at least one snap in each strip of material on the shirt 100 attach to at least on snap on the strips of material on the lower undergarments 200. The snaps in this embodiment are positioned in the front, on the right side, on the left side and in the back of the shirt 100, and also with corresponding snaps in the lower undergarment 200.

When a person wears the shirt 100 with the lower undergarment 200 of the example shown in FIG. 1, snaps in the shirt 100 may be attached to the snaps in the lower undergarment 200 so that the shirt cannot easily become un-tucked.

The shirt 100 has an interior 110 and an exterior 112, and is designed to be worn with the interior 110 against a person's skin or undergarment, and the exterior 112 exposed to the view of others. In some embodiments the shirt 100 includes a front panel that is one piece of fabric, and in other embodiments the front panel is two panels, with a first front panel 114 and a second front panel 116. In the example illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3, the first front panel 114 has a first panel top 102, and a first panel bottom 10, and a second panel top 106 and a second panel bottom 108.

The back panel 118 may also be made from one piece of fabric, or may be made with two or more pieces of fabric. In the example illustration of FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 the back panel 118 is shown with fitting seams 154. The back panel 118 may be attached to the front panel (or multiple front panels) with a first side seam 142 and a second side seam 144. In some embodiments the side seams are designed to be approximately at the side of a person when they are wearing the shirt 100.

In the illustrated embodiment of FIG. 1, FIG. 2, and FIG. 3, the first side seam 142 has a top and a bottom 146 and runs in a vertical direction along the shirt. The second side seam 144 is also illustrated in the example embodiment with a top and a bottom 148 running in a vertical direction. In some embodiments the side seams 142 and 144 are positioned so that when the arms of the person wearing the shirt hang straight down, the arms cover the side seams 142 and 144.

A first strip of material 120 may be attached adjacent to the first side seam 142. In some embodiments the first strip of material 120 has one snap, in other embodiments the first strip of material 120 has multiple snaps which are a first vertical row of snaps 122. The example illustrated in FIG. 1 shows a first vertical row of snaps 122 with four snaps that are evenly spaced apart. In some embodiments the first strip of material 120 is attached to the shirt 100 with stitching 150. In other embodiments the first strip of material 120 is attached to the shirt 100 with adhesive or bonded in another manner. The stitching 150 holding the first strip of material 120 to the shirt 100 may overlap the first side seam 142 so that some or all of the stiches 150 fall in the same area as the stitching for the first side seam 142. In other embodiments the stitching 150 holding the first strip of material 120 to the shirt 100 may be near or adjacent to the first side seam 142.

A second strip of material 124 may be attached about or near the second side seam 144 in the same manner as discussed above with the first strip of material 120. The second strip of material may also have one snap attached, or may have multiple snaps to form a second vertical row of snaps 126. As illustrated in the example embodiment of FIG. 1, the second vertical row of snaps 126 may have four evenly spaced snaps.

In some embodiments the first strip of material 120 and the second strip of material 124 may be positioned at or near the bottoms 146, and 148 of the side seams 142 and 144. Part or all of the first strip of material 120 and the second strip of material 124 may be tucked into the pants, skirt or other lower body outer garment when worn by a user. Alternatively, the user may wear a shirt 100 according to one of the embodiments with part or all of the first strip of material 120 and second strip of material 124 outside of the pants, skirt, or other lower body outer garment. In some embodiments the first and second strips of material 120 and 124, are attached to the interior of the shirt so that the snaps 122 and 126 are not seen if a portion or all of the first strip of material 120 and second strip of material 124 are not tucked in, and the shirt 100 may even be worn untucked without the snaps being visible on the exterior 112 of the shirt 100. In the example embodiment with the snaps on the interior 110 of the shirt 100, stitching 150 may be seen on the exterior 112 of the shirt 100. The illustrations of FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 show stitching for the first strip of material 120 and the second strip of material 124 that can be seen on the exterior of the shirt 100. In this example embodiment the first strip of material 120 and the second strip of material 124 are placed so that the arms or sleeves of the shirt will cover the stitching 150 for the first and second strips of material 120 and 124 when the arms of the user are held straight down and against their sides.

The back panel 118 of the shirt 100 may have a third strip of material 128 and a snap attached to the third strip of material 128. In other embodiments two or more snaps may be attached to the third strip of material 128 forming a third vertical row of snaps 130. In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1, the third vertical row of snaps 130 has four snaps. In some embodiments more than one strip of material with a row of snaps may be attached to the back panel 118 in multiple positions. In the embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 the back panel has one strip of material that is attached to the back panel 118 approximately in the center of the back panel. As with the other strips of material discussed above, the third strip of material 128 may be attached to the shirt 100 with stitching 150, or with bonding or adhesives or other means. In an embodiment where the third strip of material 128 is attached to the interior 110 of the shirt 100, snaps on the third strip of material 128 may be hidden from view even if the shirt 100 is chosen to be worn un-tucked.

In some embodiments the front panel may also have a strip of material with one or more snaps. In the example embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1, a fourth strip of material 138 is attached to the front panel of the shirt. The fourth strip of material 138 may have one snap, or multiple snaps that form a fourth vertical row of snaps 140. In the illustrated embodiment of FIG. 1 the fourth vertical row of snaps 140 has four snaps.

In some embodiments the first front panel 114 has a placket 132 attached to the exterior 112 of the shirt 100 along an edge of the first front panel 114. The placket may have button holes 134. The second front panel 116 may have buttons 136 along an edge of the second front panel, which may be positioned to correspond with and pass through the button holes 134 in the placket 132 on the first front panel 114.

The fourth vertical row of snaps 140 may be placed on the interior 110 of the shirt 100 along the edge of the second front panel 116. In some embodiments the fourth strip of material 138 is placed in the shirt 100 near the bottom of the second front panel 116, and in a manner so that when the shirt is closed (as illustrated in FIG. 3) the fourth strip of material 138 is behind the placket 132, hiding stitching which may be used to hold the fourth strip of material 138 to the shirt 100. In other embodiments the fourth strip of material 138 may be placed further away from the edge of the second front panel 116, or on the first front panel 114.

In some embodiments the first, second, third and fourth strips of material 120, 124, 128, and 138, may be placed in a vertical position so that the snaps on each of the strips of materials are approximately in the same vertical position when the shirt is supported by a hanger, or when the shirt is worn by a user. The vertical position may be relative to a waistband that would be worn by the user, or relative to the shoulders of the user. In other embodiments some of the strips of material are at a higher vertical position than other strips of material and the vertical position of the snaps may vary between the strips of material.

In some embodiments the strips of material in the shirt can prevent a shirt from becoming un-tucked without attachment to corresponding snaps in a lower garment, as the snaps can add resistance to vertical movement of the shirt 100 when held under a lower garment with a belt or waistband. In other embodiments snaps may be attached to a lower garment to further aid in resisting vertical movement of the shirt 100 which would cause the shirt 100 to become un-tucked.

An example lower undergarment 200 is illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 The lower undergarment 200 may include a waistband 210 designed to go around the waist of the user. In some embodiments, strips of material may be attached to the lower undergarment with one or more snaps that are designed to receive the snaps attached to the shirt 100. In other embodiments one or more snaps may be attached directly to a lower undergarment without a strip of material.

In some embodiments the lower undergarment 200 may have a fifth strip of material 220 with at least one snap attached to the lower undergarment in a vertical position. The firth strip of material 220 may have one snap attached, or may have a row of snaps that form a fifth vertical row of snaps 222. The fifth vertical row of snaps 222 is shown in the example of FIG. 1 with four snaps. The fifth strip of material 220 may be placed on the side of the lower undergarment 200 in a position that substantially corresponds to the position of the first strip of material 120 on the shirt 100.

The lower undergarment 200 may also have a sixth strip of material 224 with at least one snap attached to the lower undergarment in a vertical position. The sixth strip of material 224 may have one snap attached, or may have a row of snaps that form a sixth vertical row of snaps 226. The sixth vertical row of snaps 226 is shown in the example of FIG. 1 with four snaps. The sixth strip of material 220 may be placed on the side of the lower undergarment 200 in a position that substantially corresponds to the position of the second strip of material 124 on the shirt 100.

A seventh strip of material 228, and an eighth strip of material 238 may also be attached to a lower undergarment 200. The seventh strip of material may have one or more snaps that form a seventh vertical row of snaps 230, and the eighth strip of material 238 may have one or more snaps that form an eighth vertical row of snaps 240. The seventh and eighth strips of material 228 and 238 may be attached to the front and back of the lower undergarment 200 in positions that substantially correspond with the placement of the third and fourth strips of material 128 and 138 in the shirt 100.

The waistband 210 may have a top 252. In some embodiments the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth strips of material 220, 224, 228, and 238 may be placed in a similar vertical position in relation to the top of the waistband 252. In other embodiments the strips of material attached to the lower undergarment 200 may be at different vertical positions relative to the top of the waistband 252. The example embodiment illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 show the strips of material attached to the lower undergarment 200 at approximately the top of the waistband 252 and extending down along the lower undergarment 200. In other embodiments the top of the strips of material may be attached further down, such as below the waistband 210 on the lower undergarment 200.

The illustration of the example embodiment shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2 include dotted lines to show the connection of each vertical row of snaps on the shirt 100 to a corresponding row of snaps on the lower undergarment 200. The first connection 310 is between the first vertical row of snaps 122 and the fourth vertical row of snaps 220, the second connection 312 is between the second vertical row of snaps 126 and the fifth vertical row of snaps 226, the third connection is between the third vertical row of snaps 130 and the seventh vertical row of snaps 230. The fourth connection 316 is between the fourth vertical row of snaps 140 and the eighth vertical row of snaps 240.

FIG. 4 shows a kit for use with a set of garments. The kit may include a set of shirt strips 410, a set of lower garment long strips 420 and a set of lower garment short strips 430. In this example there are four shirt strips 410 that each have make snaps 414 on the front side 412 of the shirt strips 410. The set of lower garment long strips 420 may each have female snaps 424 configured to removably attach to the male snaps 414 on the shirt strips 410. In some embodiments the set of lower garment long strips 420 have four female snaps 424. The set of lower garment short strips 430 may also have female snaps 424.

The back of the long strips 416, and the back of the short strips 436 may have a bonding agent 418 to allow the strips 410, 420, and 430 to be attached securely to a garment such as a shirt and lower undergarments. The bonding agent 418 may be a permanent bonding agent or a removable bonding agent. Bonding agents may include adhesives to bond the strips 410, 420 and 430 to a garment. Bonding agents may include glues, epoxies, or plastic agents that bond by evaporation of a solvent or by curing the bonding agent with heat, pressure, or time.

A kit may include instructions that direct a user to attach the strips 410, to a shirt on the interior of the shirt at various positions near or along the lower edge of the shirt. The directions may also direct a user to attach the lower garment strips 420 and 430 to a lower undergarment in locations that correspond to the locations where shirt strips 410 were attached to the shirt. Directions in a kit may direct a user to attach the shirt strips 410 in a shirt in locations as illustrated in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. Directions in a kit may also direct a user to attach the lower garment strips 420 and 430 in a lower garment, such as locations as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2

The disclosed embodiments discuss the use of snaps to connect the upper garment with the lower undergarment. Hook and loop fasteners, were tested and found to make the shirt feel stiff, less secure and less comfortable. Snaps were found to allow the shirt to move naturally and to reduce or eliminate the stiff feeling of the hook and look system.

Although the embodiments illustrated show multiple strips of fabric with a snap attached to a shirt, in some embodiments only one strip of fabric as described above is attached to a shirt 100, and one corresponding strip of fabric is attached to a corresponding position in a lower undergarment 200. In other embodiments two or more of the strips of fabric are attached in positions in the shirt 100 and corresponding strips of fabric are placed in the lower undergarment 200.

Stitching 150 is shown in the illustrative embodiments and may serve the function of attaching parts of the shirt 100 and may also serve to add ornamental enhancements to the shirt 100 and lower undergarment 200. If stitching 150 is used to attach the strips of material to the shirt 100, ornamental stitching may be incorporated with the stitching used to hold the strips of material to the shirt 100. The stitching shown in the example illustrated embodiments is around the edge of the strips of material. Alternatively, or in addition to stitching around the edges of the strips of material, stitching may be used in the interior of the strips of material, including between snaps attached to the strips of material.

The snaps may be made from any suitable material. For example snaps may be metal, plastic or other material. The snaps may be attached to the strips of material before the strips of material are attached to the garment, or may be attached directly to the garment.

The example embodiment shown in the drawings has the shape and structure of some types of dress shirts. Other types of dress shirts may also be used in other embodiments. Shirts or blouses may be long sleeve, short sleeve, or sleeveless. A shirt may include a collar or may have no collar. A shirt may be a polo, a t-shirt, jersey, camp, shirt, poet shirt, or other variation of a shirt. The shirt may be made from manmade or natural fibers, or a combination of manmade and natural fibers. The shirt may have any type of weave including a plain weave, oxford, twill, satin, or any other variation of a weave.

While the principles of the invention have been made clear in illustrative embodiments, there will be immediately obvious to those skilled in the art many modifications of structure, arrangement, proportions, and methods, the elements, materials, and components used in the practice of the invention, and otherwise, which are particularly adapted to specific environments and operative requirements without departing from those principles. The appended claims are intended to cover and embrace any and all such modifications, within the limits only of the true spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. A garment comprising:

A shirt having an interior and an exterior;
At least one front panel having a top and a bottom;
At least one back panel having a top and a bottom, wherein the at least one front panel and the at least one back panel are attached with a first side seam and a second side seam;
Wherein the first side seam and the second side seam define sides of the shirt, and wherein the first side seam and the second side seam have a top and a bottom and run in a generally vertical direction when the shirt is worn;
A first vertical row of snaps attached to a first strip of material, wherein the first vertical row of snaps has at least two snaps, wherein the first strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt adjacent to the first side seam near the bottom of the first side seam, and;
A second vertical row of snaps attached to a second strip of material, wherein the second vertical row of snaps has at least two snaps, wherein the second strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt adjacent to the second side seam, near the bottom of the second side seam;
A third vertical row of snaps attached to a third strip of material, wherein the third vertical row of snaps has at least two snaps, wherein the third strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt on the at least one back panel near the bottom of the at least one back panel.

2. The garment according to claim 1 further comprising a fourth vertical row of snaps attached to a fourth strip of material, wherein the fourth vertical row of snaps has at least two snaps, wherein the fourth strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt on one of the at least one front panel near the bottom of the at least one front panel.

3. The garment according to claim 2 wherein the at least one front panel includes a first front panel and a second front panel, wherein the first front panel and the second front panel are configured to be attached with buttons;

Wherein the first front panel includes a placket along an edge and button holes having a top and a bottom, and the second front panel includes the buttons configured to pass through the button holes in the first front panel;
Wherein the fourth strip of material is attached to the second front panel so that when the shirt is buttoned the fourth strip of material will be parallel to the placket.

4. The garment according to claim 3 wherein the first strip of material and the second strip of material and the third strip of material and the fourth strip of material are all substantially the same length with the same number of snaps and are all positioned in substantially the same vertical position so that when the shirt is worn they will be at a similar vertical position relative to a waistline.

5. The garment according to claim 1 further comprising:

a lower body undergarment having a waistband, the lower body undergarment having a front, a back, a first side and a second side;
a fifth vertical row of snaps attached to a fifth strip of material, wherein the fifth strip of material is attached to the first side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the fifth vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to one of said at least two snaps in the first vertical row of snaps on the shirt;
a sixth vertical row of snaps attached to a sixth strip of material, wherein the sixth strip of material is attached to the second side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the sixth vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to one of said at least two snaps in the second vertical row of snaps on the shirt; and
a seventh vertical row of snaps attached to a seventh strip of material, wherein the seventh strip of material is attached to the back of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the seventh vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to one of said at least two snaps in the third vertical row of snaps on the shirt.

6. The garment according to claim 5 wherein the fifth strip of material has a top and the sixth strip of material has a top and the seventh strip of material has a top and wherein the top of the fifth, sixth and seventh strips of material are all positioned in substantially the same vertical position relative to the waistband.

7. The garment according to claim 2 further comprising:

a lower body undergarment having a waistband, the lower body undergarment having a front, a back, a first side and a second side;
a fifth vertical row of snaps attached to a fifth strip of material, wherein the fifth strip of material is attached to the first side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the fifth vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to at least one snap in the first vertical row of snaps on the shirt;
a sixth vertical row of snaps attached to a sixth strip of material, wherein the sixth strip of material is attached to the second side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the sixth vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to said at least two snaps in the second vertical row of snaps on the shirt;
a seventh vertical row of snaps attached to a seventh strip of material, wherein the seventh strip of material is attached to the back of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the seventh vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to said at least two snaps in the third vertical row of snaps on the shirt; and
an eighth vertical row of snaps attached to an eighth strip of material, wherein the eighth strip of material is attached to the front of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the eighth vertical row of snaps is configured to connect to said at least two snaps in the fourth vertical row of snaps on the shirt.

8. A garment comprising:

A shirt having an interior and an exterior;
At least one front panel having a top and a bottom;
At least one back panel having a top and a bottom, wherein the at least one front panel and the at least one back panel are attached with a first side seam and a second side seam;
Wherein the first side seam and the second side seam define sides of the shirt, and wherein the first side seam and the second side seam have a top and a bottom and run in a generally vertical direction when the shirt is worn;
A first strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the first strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt adjacent to the first side seam near the bottom of the first side seam and parallel to the first side seam, and;
A second strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the second strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt adjacent to the second side seam near the bottom of the second side seam and parallel to the second side seam;
A third strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the third strip of material is attached vertically to the interior of the shirt on the at least one back panel near the bottom of the at least one back panel.

9. The garment according to claim 8 further comprising a fourth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the fourth strip of material is attached to the interior of the shirt on one of the at least one front panel near the bottom of the at least one front panel.

10. The garment according to claim 9 wherein the at least one front panel includes a first front panel and a second front panel, wherein the first front panel and the second front panel are configured to be attached with buttons;

Wherein the first front panel includes a placket along a vertical edge and button holes having a top and a bottom, and the second front panel includes the buttons configured to pass through the button holes in the first front panel;
Wherein the fourth strip of material is attached to the second front panel so that when the shirt is buttoned the fourth strip of material will be parallel to the placket.

11. The garment according to claim 10 wherein the first strip of material and the second strip of material and the third strip of material and the fourth strip of material are all substantially the same length with the same number of snaps and are all positioned in substantially the same vertical position so that when the shirt is worn they will be at a similar vertical position relative to a waistline.

12. The garment according to claim 8 further comprising:

a lower body undergarment having a waistband, the lower body undergarment having a front, a back, a first side and a second side;
A fifth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the fifth strip of material is attached to the first side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the fifth strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the first strip of material on the shirt;
A sixth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the sixth strip of material is attached to the second side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the sixth strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the second strip of material on the shirt; and
A seventh strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the seventh strip of material is attached to the back of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the seventh strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the third strip of material on the shirt.

13. The garment according to claim 12 wherein the fifth strip of material has a top and the sixth strip of material has a top and the seventh strip of material has a top and wherein the top of the fifth, sixth and seventh strips of material are all positioned in substantially the same vertical position relative to the waistband.

14. The garment according to claim 9 further comprising:

a lower body undergarment having a waistband, the lower body undergarment having a front, a back, a first side and a second side;
A fifth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the fifth strip of material is attached to the first side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the fifth strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the first strip of material on the shirt;
A sixth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the sixth strip of material is attached to the second side of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the sixth strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the second strip of material on the shirt; and
A seventh strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the seventh strip of material is attached to the back of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the seventh strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the third strip of material on the shirt; and
An eighth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the eighth strip of material is attached to the front of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the eighth strip of material is configured to connect to the at least one snap on the fourth strip of material on the shirt.

15. A set of garments comprising:

A dress shirt;
A lower body undergarment, Wherein the dress shirt has an interior and an exterior, the dress shirt comprising: A first front panel and a second front panel having a top and a bottom, wherein the first front panel includes a placket along a vertical edge and button holes, the first front panel having a top and a bottom, and the second front panel includes buttons configured to pass through the button holes in the first front panel; A back panel having a top and a bottom, wherein the first front panel is attached to the back panel with a first side seam, and wherein the second front panel is attached to the back panel with a second side seam; wherein the first side seam and the second side seam define sides of the dress shirt, and wherein the first side seam and the second side seam have a top and a bottom and run in a generally vertical direction when the dress shirt is worn; A first strip of material having at least three evenly spaced snaps, wherein the first strip of material is attached to the interior of the dress shirt adjacent to the first side seam near the bottom of the first side seam and parallel to the first side seam; A second strip of material having at least three snaps, wherein the second strip of material is attached to the interior of the dress shirt adjacent to the second side seam near the bottom of the second side seam and parallel to the second side seam; A third strip of material having at least three snaps, wherein the third strip of material is attached vertically to the interior of the dress shirt on the back panel near the bottom of the back panel; and A fourth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the fourth strip of material is attached to the interior of the dress shirt on the second front panel near the bottom of the second front panel, wherein the fourth strip of material is attached to the second front panel so that when the dress shirt is buttoned the fourth strip of material will be parallel to the placket on the first front panel; Wherein the lower body undergarment has an interior and an exterior, the lower body undergarment comprising: A waistband, the lower body undergarment having a front, a back, a first side and a second side; A fifth strip of material having at least three snaps, wherein the fifth strip of material is attached to the first side of the lower body undergarment on the exterior of the lower body undergarment, and wherein one of the at least three snaps on the fifth strip of material is configured to connect to one of the at least three snaps on the first strip of material on the dress shirt; A sixth strip of material having at least three snaps, wherein the sixth strip of material is attached to the second side of the lower body undergarment on the exterior of the lower body undergarment, and wherein one of the at least three snaps on the sixth strip of material is configured to connect to one of the at least three snaps on the second strip of material on the dress shirt; and A seventh strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the seventh strip of material is attached to the back of the lower body undergarment on the exterior of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the seventh strip of material is configured to connect to one of the at least three snaps on the third strip of material on the dress shirt; and An eighth strip of material having at least one snap, wherein the eighth strip of material is attached to the front of the lower body undergarment on the exterior of the lower body undergarment, and wherein the at least one snap on the eighth strip of material is configured to connect to one of the at least three snaps on the fourth strip of material on the dress shirt.

16. A kit for assembly with a set of garments, the kit comprising:

A first set of material strips each having multiple snaps aligned in a row attached thereto;
A second set of material strips each having multiple snaps aligned in a row attached thereto;
Wherein the first set of material strips has a first length and wherein the second set of material strips has a second length, and wherein the first length and the second length are approximately equal;
Wherein the multiple snaps in the first set of material strips are configured to removeably attach to the multiple snaps in the second set of material strips;
A third set of material strips each having multiple snaps aligned in a row attached thereto;
Wherein the third set of material strips has a third length, and wherein the first length is longer than the third length;
Wherein the multiple snaps in the first set of material strips are configured to removeably attach to the multiple snaps in the third set of material strips;
Wherein the first set of material strips have a front with the multiple snaps attached thereto and a back with a bonding agent deposited thereon and configured for bonding the first set of material strips to the set of garments;
Wherein the second set of material strips have a front with the multiple snaps attached thereto and a back with a bonding agent deposited thereon and configured for bonding the second set of material strips to the set of garments; and
Wherein the third set of material strips have a front with the multiple snaps attached thereto and a back with a bonding agent deposited thereon and configured for bonding the third set of material strips to the set of garments.

17. The kit of claim 16 wherein the row of snaps on the first set of material strips each have between two and four snaps.
