WALKING ASSIST AND URINE RECEIVING COMBINATION DEVICE

Abstract

A walking assist and urine receiving combination device includes a post having a bottom end and a top end. A saddle is attached to the top end of the post. A grip is attached to the saddle opposite of the top end. A container includes a perimeter wall and an access opening. A cover is removably positioned on the access opening. The perimeter wall frictionally engages the saddle such that the container is removable from the saddle.

BACKGROUND OF THE DISCLOSURE

Field of the Disclosure

The disclosure relates to urination assisting devices and more particularly pertains to a new urination assisting device for assisting a person in standing while urinating and for containing urine.

SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a post having a bottom end and a top end. A saddle is attached to the top end of the post. A grip is attached to the saddle opposite of the top end. A container includes a perimeter wall and an access opening. A cover is removably positioned on the access opening. The perimeter wall frictionally engages the saddle such that the container is removable from the saddle.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new urination assisting device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the walking assist and urine receiving combination device 10 generally comprises a post 12 that has a bottom end 14 and a top end 16. The post 12 may be conventional telescopic such that the post 12 has an adjustable height. Generally the post 12 will have a height between 2.5 feet and 4.0 feet. A foot 18 may be attached to the bottom end 14 and be comprises of a friction enhancing material. Alternatively, the post 12 may have a bottom end 14 that terminates in a plurality of feet such as typically found with a walker type device.

A saddle 20 is attached to the top end 16 of the post 12. The saddle 20 comprises a base 22 and a pair of vertical members 24 that is attached to and extends upwardly from the base 22. A grip 26 is attached to the saddle 20 opposite of the top end 16. The grip 26 extends between the vertical members 24. The grip 26 and vertical members 24 together may form a closed loop.

A container 28 is provided which includes a perimeter wall 30 and an access opening 32. A cover 34 is removably positioned on the access opening 32 and may be threadably or snappily coupled to the container 28. The perimeter wall 30 frictionally engages the saddle 20 such that the container 28 is removable from the saddle 20. The access opening 32 is directed upwardly when the container 28 is positioned within the saddle 20. Generally, the container 28 is angled downwardly and rearwardly from the access opening 32 to a rear wall 38 of the container 28. A handle 36 is attached to the container 28. The handle 36 is positioned on an upper wall 40 of the container 28.

In use, the device 10 is used to assist someone while walking in a conventional manner of utilizing canes and walkers. When a user of the device 10 needs to urinate, they may do so by removing the cover 34, urinating through the access opening 32 and then closing the access opening 32. The user may hold onto the grip 26 while urinating so that the user is stable while urinating. The container 28 may be removed as needed for dumping and cleaning.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims

1. A walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly comprising:

a post having a bottom end and a top end;

a saddle being attached to said top end of said post;

a grip being attached to said saddle opposite of said top end; and

a container including a perimeter wall and an access opening, a cover being removably positioned on said access opening, said container being inserted into said saddle with said perimeter wall frictionally engaging said saddle such that said container is held in and removable from said saddle; and

a handle being attached to said container, said handle being positioned on an upper wall of said container.

2. The walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly according to claim 1, wherein said post is telescopic and has an adjustable height.

3. The walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly according to claim 1, further including a foot being attached to said bottom end, said foot comprising a friction enhancing material.

4. The walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly according to claim 1, wherein said saddle comprises a base and a pair of vertical members being attached to extending upwardly from said base, said grip extending between said vertical members.

5. The walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly according to claim 1, wherein said access opening is directed upwardly when said container is positioned within said saddle.

6. The walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly according to claim 1, further including said handle being elongated and oriented parallel to a central longitudinal axis of said container.

7. A walking assist and urine capturing combination assembly comprising:

a post having a bottom end and a top end, said post being telescopic and having an adjustable height;

a foot being attached to said bottom end, said foot comprising a friction enhancing material;

a saddle being attached to said top end of said post, said saddle comprising a base and a pair of vertical members being attached to extending upwardly from said base;

a grip being attached to said saddle opposite of said top end, said grip extending between said vertical members; and

a container including a perimeter wall and an access opening, a cover being removably positioned on said access opening, said container being inserted into said saddle with said perimeter wall frictionally engaging said saddle such that said container is held in and removable from said saddle, said access opening being directed upwardly when said container is positioned within said saddle, a handle being attached to said container, said handle being positioned on an upper wall of said container, said handle being elongated and oriented parallel to a central longitudinal axis of said container.
