Portable Toilet Seat Cover
A toilet seat cover main body consisting of a flexible annular fabric and protruding fabric fastened to a portable bag. The cover main body consists of a hemmed inner and outer periphery with only a tubular space in the outer periphery for an elastic band. The protruding fabric is sewn on the rear of the cover main body pointing outward and attached to a portable bag by fasteners. The portable bag consists of an opening and closing flap and fasteners for securely housing cover main body and protruding fabric inside the main inner pocket, smaller outer pockets for personal items, and a carrying strap. The cover main body can be fastened or unfastened from the portable bag with the fasteners on the protruding fabric and portable bag, for cleaning purposes.
Field of the Invention
This invention relates to a toilet seat cover fastened to and housed inside a portable bag.
Description of Prior Art
A sanitary toilet seat can be a difficult and troubling thing to find for many public and private toilet seat users. A toilet seat cover has been a necessary item for many bathroom users trying to avoid filth, disease, vermin, and unsanitary and bare toilet seats. This invention improves upon previous inventions: Sanitary Toilet Protector by Margaret Beam, U.S. Pat. No. 1,524,853; Combination Child's Toilet Seat and Carrying Bag by D. G. Anderson, U.S. Pat. No. 2,537,504; Toilet Seat by H. G. Miller, U.S. Pat. No. 3,153,248; Packaged Toilet Seat by Edwards et al., U.S. Pat. No. 5,090,063.
Beam depicts a toilet seat cover with rubberized cloth and an elastic band contained in the outer periphery. The cover provides the protection for a toilet seat user, but does not provide an attached portable bag for travel.
Anderson depicts a toilet seat cover for children that is foldable and has handles shaped for carrying as a bag. The cover is designed for children, but not adult toilet seat users. Also, the invention is foldable, but the design lessens its portability. Anderson did not take into account a more compact design for lighter traveling needs.
Miller depicts a toilet seat cover that is inflatable. Miller, like Anderson, designed the toilet seat cover for children, but not for adult users. The need to inflate a toilet seat cover detracts from its speed of use. The carrying case is described as merely any suitable container or bag for the deflated cover and nothing else.
Edwards et al. depicts a toilet seat cover that is housed in an opening carrier containing rigid pieces, like the toilet seat, base, and toilet paper roll. This invention provides the user a toilet seat cover, toilet paper roll, and a pocket for items of personal hygiene. The design provides useful benefits for sanitary toilet use, but it does not account for lighter traveling needs. The many rigid pieces make for an oversized and weighty carrier.
BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTIONThe purpose of this invention is to provide a toilet seat cover that is of light construction, flexible, portable, and quickly useable on any toilet seat. The first object of the invention is to provide a flexible toilet seat cover that can fit any toilet seat. The second object of the invention is to provide a toilet seat cover that is fastened to a portable bag for ease of use. The third object of the invention is to provide a compact design made of light material for lighter traveling needs.
This invention of a cover for a toilet seat will be described and referenced below using
The cover main body 10 is made of a flexible annular fabric capable of attaching and covering any toilet seat for the purpose of protecting a user from an unsanitary and bare toilet seat 13 surface.
The inner periphery 11 of the cover main body 10 is hemmed.
The portable bag 19 is made of any suitable material with an opening and closing flap 20 at the top. The flap 20 has a fastener 18a which attaches to the front fastener 18b on the portable bag 19. Fasteners 18a, 18b can be joined to securely house the cover main body 10 and protruding fabric 15 inside the main inner pocket 24 (
