CAN SAFETY COVER

This invention relates to a safety cover used in covering a can cover while the can cover is being opened, the can safety cover having a covering part of a flat plate to cover a surface of the can cover; a protruded receiving part extending axially along a rim of the covering part to receive a protruding rim part which is axially formed along a rim of the can cover; and an opening formed in the covering part to expose a can ring, which is attached on the surface of the can cover, to an outside. The can cover can be operated to be opened while it is covered by the can safety cover. Therefore, during the opening process, injury can be prevented from generating by preventing user's finger from directly contacting a rim of the can cover or a cut line of a main body of the can.

Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a can safety cover which is used in covering a can cover for preventing injury while the can cover is being opened.

BACKGROUND ART

Referring to FIG. 1, if a user wants to open a can cover 2 from a can 1, the user has to insert his finger into a can ring 3 which is attached on a surface of the can cover 2. Then, the user has to pull his finger backwards so that the can cover 2 can be cut off from a main body of the can 1.

During this process, however, the user is apt to receive an injury to his finger 4 as it contacts a rim 2a of the can cover 2 or a cut line 1a of the main body of the can 1.

DISCLOSURE Technical Problem

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a can safety cover for preventing injury which can happen while the can cover is being opened.

Technical Solution

In order to accomplish the above object, the present invention provides a can safety cover applied to a can having a side wall which encloses contents therein and extends axially to have a protruding rim part along an axially extending end, a can cover which covers the contents in the axial direction at an inside of the protruding rim part, and a can ring which is attached on a surface of the can cover for cutting off the can cover, the can safety cover having: a covering part of a flat plate to cover the surface of the can cover; a protruded receiving part extending axially along a rim of the covering part to receive the protruding rim part; and an opening formed in the covering part to expose the can ring to an outside.

According to an aspect of the present invention, the can safety cover is made of thin plastics.

According to an aspect of the present invention, the protruded receiving part has a bending end part to closely contact the received protruding rim part in a radial direction so that it can prevent the protruded receiving part from being taken off from the protruding rim part.

According to an aspect of the present invention, the covering part is formed along an inner circumference of the protruded receiving part to a predetermined width so that the opening can be formed inside of the covering part.

Advantageous Effects

According to the can safety cover of the present invention as described above, the can cover can be operated to be opened while it is covered by the can safety cover. Therefore, during the opening process, injury can be prevented from generating by preventing user's finger from directly contacting a rim of the can cover or a cut line of a main body of the can.

BEST MODE

As shown in FIG. 2, a can safety cover 10 according to a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises a covering part 11 of a circular flat plate and a protruded receiving part 12 which protrudes axially along a rim of the covering part 11 to be vertical to the covering part 11.

The covering part 11 has an opening 13 for a can ring to be exposed to an outside as will be described later.

Such a can safety cover 10 may be made of plastics, for example, PVC that is formed to be thin. In this case, the cans 1 can still be piled up in a distribution process or etc. even when each can 1 is covered by the can safety cover 10.

FIG. 3 shows the can 1 covered by the can safety cover 10 which is described above. The covering part 11 covers a can cover (refer to 2 in FIG. 1) of the can 1. The protruded receiving part 12 receives a protruding rim part (refer to 6 in FIG. 1) which is an axial end part of a side wall 5 of the can 1 to be formed along the rim of the can cover 2.

A can ring 3 attached on a surface of the can cover 2 is exposed to an outside through the opening 13 of the covering part 11.

In this case, an outer side of the protruded receiving part 12 covering the protruding rim part 6 forms a bending end part 14, as shown in FIG. 2, which closely contacts the protruding rim part 6, so that it can prevent the protruded receiving part 12 from being taken off from the protruding rim part 6.

To open the can cover 2 by using the can safety cover 10 applied to the can 1 as described above, as shown in FIG. 4, if the can ring 3 which is exposed to the outside through the opening 13 is pulled with a user's finger, the can cover 2 is cut off from the can 1. At the same time, the can safety cover 10 is also separated from the can 1 in a state that it maintains its contact with the can cover 2.

In this process, the user's hand 4 always contacts the can safety cover 10 and it is prevented from directly contacting the cut-off rim (refer to 2a in FIG. 1) of the can cover 2 or the cut line (refer to 1a in FIG. 1) of the main body of the can 1.

As shown in FIG. 5, a can safety cover 20 according to a second exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises a covering part 21 which is formed along an inner circumference of a protruded receiving part 22 to a predetermined width W, so that an opening 23 is formed at all inside of the covering part 21.

The width W can only be extended for the can ring 3 to be exposed to the outside as shown in FIG. 6. It also has to cover at least the cut-off rim (refer to 2a in FIG. 1) while the can cover 2 is being cut off, so that it can prevent the user's finger from directly contacting the cut-off rim.

According to the shape of the covering part 21 in this exemplary embodiment of the present invention as described above, the opening 23 formed inside of the covering part 21 enables most of the surface of the can cover 2 including the can ring 3 to be exposed to the outside.

As shown in FIG. 7, a can safety cover 30 according to a third exemplary embodiment of the present invention comprises an opening 33 which extends symmetrically across a center of a covering part 31.

FIG. 8 shows the can safety cover 30 according to this exemplary embodiment applied to the can 1.

Although the can safety covers 10, 20 and 30 according to the exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed, various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention.

Especially, the shapes of the openings 123, 23 and 33 can be variously deformed within the scope of the present invention. Also, the material of the can safety cover is not limited to the thin plastics or PVC but it may be rubber, metal, aluminum tape or etc.

Therefore, the above embodiments must be regarded as one example provided for description of the present invention, rather than to limit the present invention.

Claims

1. A can safety cover applied to a can having a side wall which encloses contents therein and extends axially to have a protruding rim part along an axially extending end, a can cover which covers the contents in the axial direction at an inside of the protruding rim part, and a can ring which is attached on a surface of the can cover for cutting off the can cover, the can safety cover having:

a covering part of a flat plate to cover the surface of the can cover;
a protruded receiving part extending axially along a rim of the covering part to receive the protruding rim part; and
an opening formed in the covering part to expose the can ring to an outside.

2. The can safety cover according to claim 1 being made of thin plastics.

3. The can safety cover according to claim 1 wherein the protruded receiving part has a bending end part to closely contact the received protruding rim part in a radial direction so that it can prevent the protruded receiving part from being taken off from the protruding rim part.

4. The can safety cover according to claim 1, wherein the covering part is formed along an inner circumference of the protruded receiving part to a predetermined width so that the opening can be formed inside of the covering part.
