Bullet resistant wall art - shelter coverings

This invention is a group of panels of bullet proof fiberglass, covered by any decorative material. Placed on any interior wall, the wall art composite serves two functions: The bullet resistant panels of fiberglass span the full length and height of the area being protected against a gun attack. This wall art covers the entire length and height of the area, concealing the bullet resistant function of the work.

Description
PREAMBLE

Existing commercial and educational occupancies were built without safe rooms or spaces.

Our invention addresses the lack there of by offering a wall covering that is bullet proof and decorative. An assault on a school, public building or office would have a safe area or room by hanging our Wall Art Shield product on a wall behind which the space is then protected against shooting through the wall.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Drawing FIG. 1 shows the Bullet Resistant Wall Art assembly.

The standard size 4 foot×8 foot sheet bullet proof material* is covered with any canvas, thin Plexiglas or vinyl wall covering. The resulting composite is an artful decoration in a public place within a facility being protected against attack by an active shooter. The 4 feet wide sheets placed butt tight together will produce a shield 8 feet high by the desired length of the wall being protected against gun attack. *The bullet proof fiberglass selected must be at least 7/16 inch thick, and the UL 752 level 3 standard.

CLAIMS

The UL 752-3 fiberglass sheets will shield that covered wall area against hand & shotgun attack. The art work covering such material produces the decorative effect. The areas or rooms behind such art work decoration will be safe from direct assault.

Claims

ONE: I claim the triangular and rectangular wall composite panels, together, stacked and secured to a wall, are bullet resistant against hand gun and standard load rifles, UL standards levels II and III.

TWO: I claim any furniture composite, including the bullet resistant fiberglass material, covered with decorative material are bullet resistant to hand gun and rifles, UL standard levels II and III.
