Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to golf training aids and more particularly to an arm sleeve golf training aid, which fits over the user's two hands to protect against skin damage from sunlight, to prevent sports injuries and to correct swings.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

Various golf swing correcting devices and equipments from complicated machine-based designs to simple arm-wearing devices are known and commercially available. FIG. 1 illustrates a swing lever action correcting strap according to the prior art. According to this design, the swing lever action correcting strap comprises an elastic loop band 10, and a fastening strap 20 fastened to a middle part of the elastic loop band 10 for making the swing lever action correcting strap into a double loop configuration. When practicing the swing lever action, as shown in FIG. 2 and FIG. 3 the two hands of the user are respectively inserted into the two insertion holes 101 in the double loop configuration at two opposite lateral sides of the fastening strap 20 and within the elastic loop band 10, enabling the elastic loop band 10 to fit over the upper arms of the user to keep the two upper arms substantially in a parallel manner for swinging the golf club.

However, it is difficult to put on or put off the swing lever action correcting strap. When using the swing lever action correcting strap, the user needs to insert one hand into one insertion hole 101, and then to insert the other hand into the other insertion holes 101, and then to forcefully correct the position of the swing lever action correcting strap in the upper arms. On the contrary, the action of removing the swing lever action correcting strap from the hands is also very inconvenient. Thus, the aforesaid prior art swing lever action correcting strap is not practical for training swing actions in a golf course, it can simply be used for indoor practice, otherwise, the hard task of putting on and putting off the swing lever action correcting strap can while away the fun of golf playing.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide an arm sleeve golf training aid, which fits over the user's two arms to protect against skin damage from sunlight, to prevent sports injuries and to correct swings, and which facilitates wearing and taking off, and is practical for training golf swing in a golf course.

To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, an arm sleeve golf training aid comprises two arm sleeves respectively fitted over the two arms of the user, and an elastic strap detachably connectable between the two arm sleeves to secure the two arm sleeves together. Thus, the user can wear the two arm sleeves for protection against skin damage from sunlight. When practicing swing actions, the user can fasten the elastic strap to the two arm sleeves to limit the opening between the two arms.

Preferably, each arm sleeve has a first fastening member provided at the periphery thereof; the elastic strap has a second fastening member located at each of two opposite ends thereof and detachably fastenable to the first fastening member at each arm sleeve. Thus, the elastic strap can detachably fasten the two arm sleeves together.

Preferably, the arm sleeves are made from an elastic fiber fabric.

Preferably, the elastic fiber fabric is a Lycra fabric.

Preferably, the first fastening members and the second fastening members are Velcro strips.

Preferably, the first fastening members are female Velcro strips; the second fastening members are male Velcro strips.

Thus, the user can detach the elastic strap from the arm sleeves, and then fit each arm sleeve over one respective arm for protecting the respective arm against skin damage from sunlight and preventing sports injuries when the user is playing the golf game. When practicing swings, the user can fasten the two second fastening members (male Velcro strips) of the elastic strap to the first fastening members (female Velcro strips) of the arm sleeves to connect the elastic strap between the two arms for limiting the opening between the two arms. Thus, the user can practice swing actions correctly. If the user simply wants to use the arm sleeves, the user can detach the elastic strap from the arm sleeves conveniently.

Other advantages and features of the present invention will be fully understood by reference to the following specification in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which like reference numbers denote like components of structure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a swing lever action correcting strap according to the prior art.

FIG. 2 is a schematic drawing illustrating an application status of the prior art swing lever action correcting strap.

FIG. 3 corresponds to FIG. 2, illustrating the player lifting the hands and the prior art swing lever action correcting strap displaced.

FIG. 4 is a schematic perspective view of an arm sleeve golf training aid in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 5 is a schematic drawing illustrating a connection between one second fastening member at one end of the elastic strap and the first fastening member at one arm sleeve.

FIG. 6 is a schematic drawing illustrating the connection of the elastic strap between the two arm sleeves.

FIGS. 7-10 illustrate a series of swing moves using the arm sleeve golf training aid of the present invention, in which FIG. 7 shows the staring position of a golf swing, FIG. 8 shows the backswing move, and FIG. 9 and FIG. 10 show the downswing move.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIG. 4, FIG. 5 and FIG. 6, an arm sleeve golf training aid in accordance with the present invention is shown. The arm sleeve golf training aid comprises: two arm sleeve 1 and an elastic strap 2 for connection between the two arm sleeves 1. The arm sleeves 1 are made from an elastic fiber fabric (for example, Lycra fabric) and can be tightly fitted over the user's arms. Each arm sleeve 1 comprises a first fastening member 11. The first fastening member 11 can be a Velcro strip 111 or any other repeatedly fastenable element. If a Velcro strip 111 is selected for the first fastening member 11, it is preferably a female Velcro strip (i.e. strip of loop materials), enabling the arm sleeve 1 to evoke a pleasant sense of touch. The elastic strap 2 is an elastically stretchable strap, having a second fastening member 21 located at one side of each of two opposite ends thereof. The second fastening member 21 can be a Velcro strip 211 or any other repeatedly fastenable element. If a Velcro strip 211 is selected for the second fastening member 21, it is preferably a male Velcro strip (strip of hook materials) for fastening to the female Velcro strip (strip of loop materials) of the first fastening member 11 at each arm sleeve 1. Thus, the two second fastening members 21 at the two opposite ends of the elastic strap 2 can be respectively and detachably fastened to the first fastening members 11 of the arm sleeves 1 to connect the two arm sleeves 1, thereby constituting the arm sleeve golf training aid.

When using the arm sleeve golf training aid, the user can detach the elastic strap 2 from the arm sleeves 1, and then fit each arm sleeve 1 over one respective arm for protecting the respective arm against skin damage from sunlight and preventing sports injuries when the user is playing golf. When practicing swings, the user can fasten the two second fastening members 21 (male Velcro strips) of the elastic strap 2 to the first fastening members 11 (female Velcro strips) of the arm sleeves 1 to connect the elastic strap 2 between the two arms for limiting the opening between the two arms (see FIG. 7). Thus, in the action of backswing (see FIG. 8), subject to the constraint of the elastic strap 2, the right arm will not be lifted too high, thus preventing the right shoulder from excessively turning back and the left arm from overstretching, so that the left shoulder can be maintained in the correct position. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 9 and FIG. 10, the user can get the downswing move totally correct, avoiding swinging too flat or steeply. Further, when using the arm sleeve golf training aid in the golf course, the user can fasten the elastic strap 2 to the arm sleeves 1 or detach the elastic strap 2 from the arm sleeves 1 conveniently without removing the arm sleeves 1 from the two arms.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
