Description
CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application No. 62/197,822 filed on Jul. 28, 2015. The above identified patent application is herein incorporated by reference in its entirety to provide continuity of disclosure.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to cosmetic templates. More specifically, the present invention relates to applicators bearing ink or cosmetics thereon that are configured to temporarily apply the ink or cosmetics to the skin of a user.

Applying eye makeup can be a tedious and time consuming process, especially if individuals are seeking a professionally done look. It would be beneficial in the art to have a substrate with pre-established, professionally arranged designs thereon that was specifically configured to be removably applied to the upper and lower eyelids of an individual. This would provide individuals with the ability to have the appearance of having had professionally done makeup without the need to spend the money or time to obtain that professional appearance.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known types of cosmetic devices now present in the prior art, the present invention provides an eyelid cosmetic template configured to allows users to quickly and easily apply eye cosmetics. The present cosmetic template comprises an upper applicator configured to conform to the upper eyelid and a lower applicator configured to conform to the lower eyelid. Each of the upper applicator and the lower applicator include three superimposed layers: a transfer film layer, a release layer, and a backing layer. The transfer film layer is moisture-activated and configured to transfer the ink from an image thereon to the skin of a user when the transfer film layer comes in contact with the skin. The ink is an oil-soluble ink, which allows for the ink to be easily removed from the user's skin when desired.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

Although the characteristic features of this invention will be particularly pointed out in the claims, the invention itself and manner in which it may be made and used may be better understood after a review of the following description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein like numeral annotations are provided throughout.

FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the present cosmetic templates secured to an upper eyelid and a lower eyelid.

FIG. 2 shows a sectional view along line 2-2 of one of the present applicators.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Reference is made herein to the attached drawings. Like reference numerals are used throughout the drawings to depict like or similar elements of the adhesive eyelid cosmetic templates. The figures are intended for representative purposes only and should not be considered to be limiting in any respect.

Referring now to FIG. 1, there is shown a perspective view of the present cosmetic templates secured to an upper eyelid and a lower eyelid. The present cosmetic assembly includes an upper applicator 101 and a lower applicator 102 that have a size and shape corresponding to an upper eyelid and a lower eyelid, respectively. The upper applicator 101 is configured to substantially cover the upper eyelid of a wearer. Likewise, the lower applicator 102 is configured to substantially cover the lower eyelid of a wearer. Each of the upper applicator 101 and the lower applicator 102 includes a design thereon and are configured to transfer that design to the skin of the user when pressed thereagainst in the manner of, e.g., a temporary tattoo. The design includes designs mimicking conventional eye makeup, e.g. a solid color or nearly solid color as with conventional eyeliner and eyeshadow, and designs that are more ornamental or elaborate in construction. In combination, the upper applicator 101 and the lower applicator 102 allow individuals to quickly and easily apply colorants around their eyes, obviating the need to use conventional methods and conventional cosmetics to decorate their eyes.

The upper applicator 101 has a roughly crescent-shaped design including an inner edge 111 configured to conform to the curvature of an edge of an upper eyelid and an outer edge 112 configured to conform to a supraorbital ridge of a wearer. The upper applicator 101 thereby occupies the entirety or nearly the entirety of the upper eyelid of the wearer. The lower applicator 102 has a roughly oblong-shaped design including an inner edge 121 that is configured to conform to the curvature of an edge of a lower eyelid and an outer edge 122 configured to conform to an infraorbital ridge of a wearer. The lower applicator 102 thereby occupies the entirety or nearly the entirety of the lower eyelid of the wearer.

Referring now to FIG. 2, there is shown a sectional view along line 2-2 of one of the present applicators. Each of the upper applicator 101 and the lower applicator 102 includes a transfer film layer 201, a release layer 202, and an backing layer 203 superimposed upon each other. The transfer film layer 201 carried by the release layer 202 includes an ink, dye, or any other colorant, cosmetic, or combination thereof. In one embodiment of the present cosmetic template, the transfer film layer 201, the release layer 202, and the backing layer 203 are coterminous.

The transfer film layer 201 carries a design in ink or any other such colorant printed thereon. The transfer film layer 201 is further configured to transfer the ink or colorant thereon when exposed to moisture, e.g. the moisture from the skin of a user when the applicators are applied thereagainst. The release layer 202 includes a silicone release coating and is positioned between the transfer film layer 201 and the backing layer 203. The release layer 202 is configured to assist in transferring the design from the transfer film layer 201 to the skin of the user. In one embodiment of the present cosmetic template, the ink or colorant printed on the transfer film layer 201 is oil-soluble.

It is therefore submitted that the instant invention has been shown and described in various embodiments. It is recognized, however, that departures may be made within the scope of the invention and that obvious modifications will occur to a person skilled in the art. With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
